Wrong thread, actually.

The IC thread is over there.
It would not make sense to post such jokes in the IC thread.

31232
Not a criticism, a comment.

Although if I were to criticize, I could question the wisdom of allowing such access to potential enemies.

I propose that we scale up the levels of red blood cells and hemoglobin instead. That way we can optimalize oxygen absorption.
"Optimalize"?
But other than that, sounds good if bigger is, actually, better. Making red blood cells bigger has issues, though. Those issues are called capillaries, which are often so slender red blood cells can barely squeeze through them.

The Sky Lords sign both agreements as well as nonaggression pacts with anyone who wants to. They also try to submit a Mutual Aid Pact, by which any nation in the Pact will aid any other nation in the Pact who is attacked.

Actually, zepelin balloons are fairly rigid. Can soak up enemy fire without getting damaged to much.

Depends on the airship and the weapon, but yup.

Finally, why 4000 years?
4000 years since the combination seemed reasonable.  Also, with great civilizations lasting longer before their decline, due to having the better rulers live for a longer period of time, and also having more of those civilizations existing at the same time, would lead to a greater ability to advance technologically.  At least, that is how I would think it would happen.
The crucial question is: 4,000 years since what? "Since dragons began food production" is unrealistic, "since dragons started bringing humans up-to-speed" seems more reasonable.

1) Where do Illborn come from and what do they want?
They come from the Warrens themselves. They came with the dungeon back when it was still a plain ol' dungeon crawler parody, so the only desire common to all of them is the desire to kill the Target.
Actually, looking back at the beginning of the thread, the first creature we found was actually non-violent until we provoked it, so it doesn't seem likely that they all want to kill the Target, assuming we are the target.
They might have other reasons...but true. I suppose my "official" guess is now more similar to that I had for Oric.

Anyways, while freeform might sometimes incorporate player ideas, I think he does have ideas for this stuff...

Please bold any conclusions of the meeting. if there are any, that is.
The Sky Lords are suspicious of the New Order.
Same to you buddy.
We are both making obvious statements. This is an attempt at humor.

before we consider fighting we should see if we have enough support to starve the count out. From what I can tell we've got the numbers and Owen has the defensive position.

a bit of hunger might make him more willing to renounce his claim.
I'd prefer not to, for image reasons among others, but we could if we really had to...

Welp, for all his talk of nobility, it seems he's a dirty coward at heart. Not even hearing out the terms for what we want? Shooting a guy with a white flag? As was mentioned, he's a complete idiot.
Un/Fortunately.

We will not approach a keep under bowfire without protection. Men will not die because we are scrupling to haggle with a carpenter's apprentice for his worn-out spare hammer. We will commandeer what we need, as if needed.
FTFY
I'd prefer not to outright steal, if we can avoid it. If we can't, go ahead, but I'd rather be seen as a reasonable authority figure, not some cruel conquering warlord.

As for these Owenists who were in the city, I'm not too concerned about this "time limit" because they can be ambushed on their return. Upon seeing a returning group, put archers in the gatehouse that they're approaching and in the nearby houses with second-floor vantage points on the gatehouse, a line of archers down the street on one side of the gatehouse with halberdiers guarding them. Open the gate and let the returning Owenists in, rake them with arrows from three sides, Uriel's heavy cavalry rushes in to mop up.
Um...this plan assumes that all those guards who followed Owen's orders before hearing about us will definitely be a hostile threat. Will some? Probably. All? Almost certainly no. I don't want to shoot before we find out their intent. Station the archers, bring the guards, but don't shoot first.

Quote
Not a minute passes when our siege engineers and the town's own carpenters aren't working on mantlets for archers, because we will suppress the battlements with overwhelming volume of fire.
Well, except when they need to eat/sleep/drink/rest, of course. Even focusing on the practical, the quality will suck.

Accusing Owen of the old Count's murder might not be the best method of getting the town on our side. Remember, he was an incompetent jerk. His people are probably glad to be rid of him.
Owen's better? He's difinitely disliked, and besides...murder is murder.

Wow. That's a lot. Good luck to a GM who tries to sort all that out...

Yes, in the interests of an exciting game, I vote to make a few experiments using the current ideas. The moral implications are a touch unnerving, but that is unlikely to reflect badly on us...
Indeed. Although we could improve it by pointing out that we don't want to screw up horribly and ruin the lives of thousands or millions of future people. A few slightly defective people are a small price to pay to avoid that.

Wow... I'm like a five-year old in a whorehouse. I thought this would be simple, but I've learnt more from this in a few pages than a month in biology class. :o
I'm glad to have helped and a bit ashamed to be indirectly compared to someone who runs a brothel.

I'd like to remove the second heart, the increased mitochondria, and the willful sweating. I'd also like to add ectothermy, but from the looks of it that's not going to get many votes, so...

Attempt to magically clean wound. Then magically heal wound if that doesn't take too much mana.

That's quite permissive of you.

Roll To Dodge / Turn 27

Call out to see if anyone is there.

“Hey! Is anyone out there?”

”Hey! I got a live one!” “Where?” “Over here!”

Some rubble shifts.

“Oh my god, what happened to you?”

[5,5] You feel a bit hungry, and suddenly switch something on. It feels a bit filling...

"Gettin' better?" Rick questioned quizzically, but headed down the road at a good clip due to the urgency in the voice. "Hold on in there little guy, seems we need to book it for a bit. If'in you like, I'll try and find a better spot for yah once we 'kin rest. Today is jus' full of surprises it seems." The last part he muttered more to himself. Seemed just a while ago he was mopping floors, now he's a shaman and helping out a giant snake. Strangely he's taking this rather well in stride.

You slither quickly down the road. The worm grumbles a little but overall seems to consent.

[3] No new mutations.

Absorb power from the sunlight!

Move toward the brightest of the 'beacons'.

You start slithering towards the bright beacon. You should be there next turn.

[3+2,6;3+1;6] In the meantime, you’ve got some mutatin’ to do. You sprout a tigerlike right foreleg, your skin grows shiny, and accidentally fire off a ray.

-----

Get off at the exit! There has to be something of interest there...

You do. It’s a fairly small town, but it does have a bank, a post office, a bunch of apartments, some stores, etc. What do you find “of interest”?

[6] Again? You feel funny.

-snip-

"You'd be nothing without me! You'd be extinct, you'd cease to be!"

"I'm so tired of your nagging!"

"And I'm so tired of your bragging!"

Sorry. It just...fit.

Free passion!

“Passion!” [3+2] Logic hurls chunks of rubble off the building, incidentally knocking over one emergency worker, and finds Passion’s unconscious form! He turns to the EMTs for help, but they’re a bit nervous about helping a super-strong faceless skeletal being which is WAY stronger than it should be.

[3+1,1;6+1,1] (Well, twice in one turn.) Logic feels a new ability; Passion coughs up some greenish fog.

"Alright, alright, geez! I give up already, guys. Stop shooting me, will you? I mean, honestly. I'll put on a blindfold if that makes you feel better."

Raise hands, give self up to the cops.

“Alright, come with us.” One cop comes to you and blindfolds you. You’re handcuffed and brought into the station. “Once we confirm that turning a cop to stone counts as homicide, we’re adding that to your record to. From the looks of it, you’re going away for a long, long time...”

[1] New powers, save me! They ignore your call.

-----

Wait for treatment.

They start setting your bones.

[3] You mutter something in nonsense.

turn around and knee that asshole in the balls

[1v1] It’s hard to say which was a bigger failure: Your knee or his dodge. Suffice it to say that both of you ended up screwing up horribly, resulting in a slapstick bar fight.

[6] You black out for a few seconds. You feel chilly.

Knowing this might be related to the lab, and thus of interest to HQ, Mr. Normal sneakily follows the American-drawling worm creature.

Also, he vomits on a nearby rock to see what it does.

[6] Mr. Normal is very very sneaky. This is hard to overshoot, so I won't.

The vomit stinks, that's what it does. Also, you're starting to feel a bit hungry. Hm, about lunchtime.

[4] You feel...off. Who wants a new psychological disorder?

GWG, I see you noticed my typo. Shame on me. That was meant to be 'constant contact' meaning we've been staying close to him for some time.
Ah.
Could be a factor, perhaps.

I also don't go from "Feeling fine!" to "Oh got by doze is stuffy ad I'b coughig up by guts!" within minutes.
You also don't exist in a magical world with slimes that blorble.
We might as well guess that it has to do with invisible magical pixies.

Quote
If we are correct, and I am understanding the theory, then some magic is trying to drag us back to the dungeon or push us away from the foreign object. The first is unlikely as the first arena was much longer. The second is more likely.
Hm. Maybe, but I'm still doubtful about it since it just suddenly happened.

Quote
I should streamline this.

Actually, we got the pain once we changed from our style to Megaman's style of fighting, correct? Maybe it was a reflex to the different mechanics. But that would leave the question 'why didn't anybody else get the same result' to answer...
Indeed. There's so many problems with these theories that we really don't have much clue.

Calm yourselves.  I can almost FEEL the smug expression FFS must be wearing watching you struggle to figure this stuff out.  Especially if it WAS just a joke.
Same.
