"Hello there. We are looking for William Warren [I believe that was his name?]. Have you seen him?"

ICARUS projects an image of him.
The souls ignore ICARUS.

However, now that I think of it, that little part of the game is just too coherent with everything else to not be part of a plan, a plan for the game which FFS had since the very begin.
Unless ffs somehow knew that his little project would become insanely popular and lied about his intentions in the OP, there's no way he had a plan since the very beginning. The old depictions of Oric and whatnot prove that he didn't plan things from the very beginning.
It's possible that he fit the past into a plan at some point along the way.

...These powerful ones will typically tend to write the rules to make it harder for little parties to reach the top; this cements an oligarchy... ...the smaller oligarchy of parties has no reason to let a new party into the top ranks to "replace" the old one; there is still this barrier... ...Eventually there will only be two parties remaining... ...At this point, it is easy enough for one party to demonize the other and construe itself as the only reasonable alternative, not to mention trivial to stop other parties from reaching their heights...
So amazingly accurate... that is, exactly, what happens in the country I live in! There are two leading parties, and each of them tries to make the other become less popular, all the time. Fortunately, neither of them is able to do it effectively, which leads to stability (as you wrote). There are also the smaller parties, which have little to no popularity when compared to those two parties, and it is extremely difficult for a new party to be created.
So it's not just the US. That makes me feel better.

Because then it looks like I'm -1'ing Objective's post.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Re: Fire Emblem Child board?
« on: March 26, 2014, 11:04:27 am »
I honestly think that at some point FEF will drop off in popularity and any board we then have made will be a dead board.
This seems probable. I mean, a subforum will probably draw new players to the system, but...not many, not for long.

Although now that you mention it...there are a lot of Fire Emblem games.

I would have gone with "creating interesting worlds which will inevitably be destroyed by other gods," but whatever drowns your goat, Xant.
That's an interesting euphemism. I would say "whatever bleeds your goat on a sacrificial alter to yourself."
It's based on the more common idiom "whatever floats your boat".

Anyway, I think we're arguing to much into the science of things. We should only have enough concrete logic to determine how our current creations react, and that's up to the creator.
But...but...Science!

Speaking of monster people...
...who no one ever explained to me.
What are they and why are they here?

3157
"Alright...soo if we are here...and Will is in...whatever Lunette sensored earlier...Lunette, do we head right, or left, or where? Do we need to get a bus?"
Lunette attempts to figure out how to get to Will's position from the place they are in.
You know what? I'll cut to the chase.

They get there, eventually. It's a sort of pavilion. There isn't anyone around except a couple of souls taking care of the place.

I'd again like to ask how you move ships from save to save without breaking the game. Copy-pasting the ship description doesn't work; I can't load the save when I do that. Possibly relevant: The ship in the original has parts not yet available in the pasted place, and perhaps from parts of the tech tree the pasted place doesn't have access to.

Use the skin ot an object to figure out where the symmetry would be if you used it. Rotate objects so some feature in the texture faces directly out from where it contacts the central stalk. You can also eyeball things and rotate the camera so parts line up. Are you building with 'snap' off?
I was eyeballing it as best as I could, and I was using angle snap.

With those ladders you better not send your lander anywhere with high gravity, because they'll need to jump to reach it.
Why would I be going to Eve?

You're going to need a lot of orange to get that up though.
We are not using Jebediah as fuel! Bill or Bob are just fine, though...
We don't have Jebediah.

Is idiots in space correct? Does Stacy have the pill machine with him? Because a pill made out of the shell's sand coating and that shock absorbent fluid would be really useful right now...
Nope, Miyamoto has it. Also, it is damaged, so it might not even work anymore.
Which would make me very sad.

*twitch*

Nuclear reactors do not work that way.
I'm interpreting this as Corsair's character knowing exactly as much about nuclear reactors as one would expect.

((Aclaration: Karen doesn't have a +4 to pot. She rolled for will there, but I copied the wrong thing))
Interesting.

You hear Karen's voice in your head:
Haven't you been paying attention? We want power, mainly. I can't be surprised for you amazing deducting power, anyway, considering that you burned yourself trying to use a one-word spell to ignite a metal hammer.
"Silver melts, witch! ...And how do you intend to get this power?"

He is not going to survive much longer if he doesn't fix that, anyway. I wonder about why the others have not killed him already.
"Some of us understand the value of working with others, barbarian."

Begin terraforming GreatWyrmGold's face into volcanic atmosphere that constantly erupts and spews lava on him.
"What do you expect this to do? A, it makes no sense. B, I am immune to fire."
Irrelevant. Lava is molten rock. Rock is super-effective against fire. You are gold dragon and breathe fire, thus you are fire element. Ergo, lava is super effective against the GWG.
Lava is Fire element. Everyone knows that. More importantly, in the source material for gold dragons, lava deals fire damage and is explicitly noted to not deal any damage to fire-immune creatures.
And by what logic does Rock deal extra damage to Fire?
That's a faulty assumption, and shame on you for going off popular opinion, GWG. Second off, what source? You don't think there's multiple games with gold dragons in them?
Third, it's called a type advantage.
Your assumption is also faulty and based off of popular opinion.
I am not just a gold dragon, I am a great wyrm gold dragon. D&D.
By Pokemon logic, lightning should not affect anything grounded and should kill anything not grounded. Outside the Pokeverse, Pokemon type advantages have no meaning.
This is why people want to shoot you in the face GWG. Real-world logic doesn't always apply in fiction.
Neither does Pokemon logic. However, real-world logic applies more often than Pokemon logic.

And the DnD rules do not apply here GWG.
Where was it stated?
And why are people applying Pokemon rules here?

Shoot GWG's face... IN THE FACE
...Aren't you the GM?

Create nice underwater palace where people whon't be punching or shooting me.
Not that many are.

I don't know, I'm just expressing confusion about all the decimals and various conditions and stuff.
Plus I'm just trying to get on the equivalent of a waitlist.
The decimals are pretty simple. Each +0.1 is 1/6 of a whole +1. I add up all the fractional modifiers at the end. If it's exactly equal to a whole number, great! That's a modifier. If not, I roll another die, and if it's equal to or less than the numerical value of the decimal, I add (or, for penalties, subtract) one. Make sense, or do you want examples?
And if you post a character sheet, you'll be on the waitlist thing.

(except Logan, who the officers don't trust--sorry, GUNIN)
No problem-o. Understandable considering how I bad-mouthed the prince. Surely there's one or two people who don't like him though..?
Not officers. Well, not officers that you're aware dislike the prince, and certainly not officers that dislike the prince and like you.
But yes, there are soldiers and stuff who don't like the prince. So you do have friends, just not friends in high places.
