Overall? Free Trade would probably help, considering that he stands to have more specialized industry due to his focus than you.
Ideally, if you can get some tech trade going on, that would be very good for you.
Indeed. Perhaps some schematics and/or blueprints? I can really have my people research anything, and I mean anything, you could possibly need. I have two groups of 20 researchers each just faffing about at the moment.
True, but I'm drawing a blank on what I'd find useful. And The Elder Wyrm isn't likely to set up trade relations to obtain some cutting-edge stereos or something.

((This isn't really a fun game. For me. Like, making it.

I'm not sure how to make a fun game other than I keep accidentally stumbling onto the formula for one every once in a while.

I'll try to squeeze an update out sometime soon though.))
Ah, I see now. Well, I can't make you run it and wouldn't want to if you didn't want to run it.

Roll To Dodge / Turn 22
« on: April 18, 2013, 09:26:53 pm »

Oh, thought that was a hallucination. Melt a hole in the back of the van to let me escape.

You can’t melt, but you CAN disintegrate. [5] You manage to avoid dying as the van disintegrates. [4] Something good happens, or rather something bad does not.

[5,5] You mutate, but are too unconscious to notice.

Eat meaty bits that are doubtlessly around the kitchen intended for the soup, then burst out of the building with my square cube law'd super strength like goddamn godzilla.

You REALLY want to invoke the Square/Cube Law?

[5,3+1] You manage to find and grab some largish chunks of meat, [6+3-2] and then stand up through the ceiling. Unfortunately, the whole building seems to crumble around you. [1] You are crushed in the rubble, lethally.

GET MUTAGEN

HEAL

GET BANDAGES

“Gimme that!” [4] You grab some mutagen and stick it in your veins. Aw yeah! [4] You also bandage your wound, just in time to [5] see that the building is collapsing and dive into a corner where the rubble doesn’t crush you.

[3+2,3;3+1;8] You shapechange into a dwarf, making you look positively normal with just a vivacious violet beard. You also get an ability I can’t express until a foreigner talks and feel your heart’s beating stop for a moment before your whole body starts pulsing.

Rick continues heading towards shore with help of water bendingx3. "Sure there little buddy, I'll be tryin' my best for that. How do I do that though, just ask someone? Also, you knowin' how I can stop these changes though? I'd rather not get any, well, weirder. Not that I supposin' I could, comparin' to normal people."

You make it to shore.

"Um, I suppose you'd just show them why you're a better shaman to follow than their old tribe's shaman, or best their chief in single combat perhaps, but that doesn't seem to be your forte. As to stop your...weirdness...well, what caused it?"

[4,2] Your head turns a nice emerald hue. Ooh.

-----

"Bros, you gonna pay!"

Teleport nearest scientist into hand.  Shake them around until I can feed from their anger!

[4-3] You are the latest in the line of mutants to fail horribly due to not understanding how your powers work. You do, however, grab a brick, which probably wasn’t enough to cause the room to collapse...yet collapse it does. [2+1] Being protected by the cage, you were in minimal peril, and the bits of rubble that hit you bounced off. Weird.

Pick up the guy by the neck and perform the ritual. Hopefully it helps me get the keus. If not, attempt pickpocketing.

You mutter the ritual. You detect violent intentions in him, [5v6+1] giving you a chance to throw him into a nearby vehicle. You notice some cops.

Start to punch then again, and when I'm about to hit them, recoil and run away! This is for maximum confusion.

You hurry off down the corridor. This is interrupted when the building starts to collapse. [2] You are pinned under some rubble. It is quite painful.

Give up and go quietly with the police, citing my right to remain silent and right to an attorney.

You meekly wander into the police station with your hands up. “I surrender, I have a right to remain silent and have an attorney.”

The secretary looks up. “Wait, you surrender your right to remain silent and have an attorney? Using an insanity defense, are you?”

-----

Wake up. See how i've changed.

You notice an acute spatial sense, which serves you well as you [2] are crushed and immobilized under a pile of rubble from the collapsing building.

[3] Your newest mutation is a bunch of fear.

I feel extremely sober, now wheres my booze?

continuously demand booze and/or cookies

“I want booze! I want booze! I want cookies! I want booze! And/or cookies! I want--” [6] You get knocked out of the window and knocked out. A moment later, you awake. “Booze!”

[1] You don’t change.

Suddenly, Mr. Normal hears someone whispering hideous insults in the language of the Uncleland. Confused as to why someone would make a serum to do this, he quietly calls his superiors for further instructions.

[4] Using a surreptitious communication device, he hears the following message: [6] "Thank you for activating the self-destruct function. This device will now self-destruct." You suddenly vanish and reappear with a sound of waves, but without the communicator in your hand.

[6] Pulling out your emergency communicator, you discover crippling immunity.

-----

NPC Actions:

Heads turn across the city as the building collapses. There’s a pause in all activities, only about a second for those doing things like fights, heart surgery, or video games, but almost a minute for others. Nice.

I still don't remember.

Derm derm'd it good. At least he was the only immediate casualty.

Yo, GWG, we should work on a trae agreement now.
Hm...what would be useful to me?
(Yes, this is an opportunity for you to make suggestions.)

31610
That Rik is fine, as long as fresh meat = someone killed last turn, and the act of eating replaces it's attack move for that turn.
Sure and of course.

31611
Why, because it seems to have stalled?

We even have all four characters posted!

Okay, look, I don't care what the ultimate decision is. After a bad day, I just wanted to come home and read a turn, any turn. Instead I get into arguments with people that appear not to concede simple things like "If he's at risk at Percivals, he's more at risk here." That bickering along static fault lines is generally not why we're reading this. We want the story. If the story stopped now, that wouldn't be satisfactory for anybody here, it's just that I need to stop participating, or at least be lower-key. Crabnumber and Kaian are more-or-less right.
I understand. Although, I'd like to note that you picked something for me to concede to is kinda the basis of our argument, so you basically asked me to surrender the argument as a compromise.

Quote
We can't attack because Owen has the bigger army, and we would just look like rebels. The "Count" would call up the levy, and nobody would have any excuse to refuse. In fact, I would disagree with your thoughts on timing as well. If we wait for the Spring, then Owen, who is unprepared because of his newness, just had to rally a foreign people during the winter, and probably suffered heavy losses, and his reputation has been destroyed due to our rumors. Time is on our side, not his, as long as we hit him before the people lose interest in the bastard. If we time it right (in the spring), then that is when we'll have the greatest advantage (as well as the support of the duke and the knights.)
I think what you're assuming is that 1)He's a terrible person who will be a complete bitch to his subjects, which is based solely on the fact that he, and some of the noble class, doesn't like us rising up to the nobility from being a simple farmer; 2)That the little people will really care who's in charge(unless he's really nice or really mean, then they'll care a lot); and 3)How would he suffer heavy losses?

But if he shapes up to all of those and all the other knights and barons hate him, hell yeah, let's go for it.  After we make sure we have Arthur on a good footing.
1. Which part relies on that, the levy? It's hardly the most important bit.
2. True.
3. Who knows?

And yeah. I think we need some kind of reform, but I don't think we'll be any more successful than Congress has been with most major reforms unless we can identify and remove the core causes of the problem.
To me, it seems to be that things kept escalating in seriousness, bit by bit, from "just another game" to "serious business". Any proposed solutions?

31615
230 colors? That's more than I would have guessed from the context.

How about:

Yeah, GWG, I like you. I like you a lot

Problem is, in human society, killing humans that stick up is seen as a bad thing.

Current on in-universe? Peaceful protest doesn't work, because 9/10ths of the dragons (THE ONES IN POWER) would give no shits about just massacring those protesters.
Point. Well, let's see how my campaigns work. After my "Dragons are Better Than Anarchy" campaign is off the ground, I'll start one where I show dragons the narrow differences between humans and us. (As much as the Elder Wyrm would never say so, a good, deadly terrorist attack would help. Maybe if one of your men was caught and asked why s/he did all this?)

I just kill any slave that gives me a funny look.

They pop out so many babies I don't even care.
Aaand you're the problem.

Ciro: "Sure!"
Ritalia: "Alright!"
Al: "Um...why not?"
Slog: Jump at the blue guy happily! "Blorble!"

You get a lot more gear than that. 49,000 gold. Break out the DMG, 'cause you're going magic item shopping!

I have to say, the starting sentences sound like every single teenage-focused book I've ever read. That isn't really a great thing.
Its something other than "You are an evil overlord planing to dominate the world". I'm trying to actualy do a different story than wha t you find on the forums. agin I shouldn't type on a phone... -_-
From my experience...no, you shouldn't.

Can't wait to see how this looks when complete.
