Retconn to Stella helping look for Will, she tries to see if the Ring works To Track Will(it was specifically designed to work though interplanar boundaries)
Right. Forgot that.
Yup. He's in Hell.

ICARUS tries to help Lunette find out where in Hell they are, so they can find out which direction Will would be in
This works. She determines that they are in the realm of Demetrius the Dark, a fairly minor demon lord.

I remember that the fool and the universe arcana were vetoed and only one of Elf's characters had one of them.
Actually, I don't anymore. I changed mine out from Fool. I'm still noping those unless you can explain it very well. Universe is still a no go.
Sounds like it would fit Yuri, aka former (?) host of Shys'm Caes, pretty well.

EDIT: Wait....hm. I'll have to go review Richard's status. I'll have to remove the multiple Personas somehow. Any suggestions?
As it stands, I'm pretty undecided as to what to do with him.
Aren't there characters with multiple Personae? The PC of the games, at least?

Bartimaeus shapeshifts into a sexy succubus in complete black lingerie with two horns and giant bat wings.
Oh my...
USEC_OFFICER shall be temporarily unavailable for a while. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Is this related somehow? Is this a joke? ...Is USEC implying that he will be masturbating to this mental image? I'm confused.

Blah blah blah science.

Why must you bring your fancy science into this?
...I don't get it.

Why are you guys arguing about how dense aether is and how viable giant planets and trees are when this is a setting that has the psychology of entire species being altered by the breath of a god infused with a particular  emotion? This thing runs on 'a wizard god did it'.
Because it's fun!

p.s. it's great how even polls get the weird consensus effect. Once a few votes outweigh the other options, it becomes a battle between that select two or three. Now the two party system makes sense. It's not a conspiracy. It's determinism.
It's a bit more complex than that. Want me to go into some slightly cynical, uncited, highly speculative suggestions of why bi- or monoparty systems will tend to form in political entities without processes which encourage minor parties or prevent overwhelming ones?
yes actually
Spoiler: Alright, then. (click to show/hide)

Considering TWoOtA is one of the only threads I post in at the moment, I'm tempted to sig it.  People seem to forget it so easily.
Sig it with a link to this thread. New blood is never a bad thing.

I also totally discovered a cheesy-ass combat trick we can do to decimate anything with no DR. It'll take two turns, unless we're either able to clone a spell or willing to separate the book.

Step one: Cast Windirection on enemy. It probably won't require a roll, since it's a beneficial spell.
Step two: Nuke them with Aeroblast for absurd damage, since they are now flying.
Congrats! You have found the intended use of that spellbook!

Do you think they're onto us?
Almost certainly. The players aren't morons.

"Alright guys, I have a few buds that hang out with trolls every once in awhile. I know some shortcuts, once we get there!"

We will do no such thing, of course.
-1 Toooo blatant

Stand by silently like a good NPC and wrack our brain for any information we have on trolls and their Cave.
Are you -1ing my -1 or are you -1 the suggestion that I am -1ing? :v
Neither. I'm +1ing your -1.

It's a bit late, the game's started. If Coolrune still wants to do the parallel game, you might be able to get into that.

So. Do you have specific questions? Because if not, I'm just going to quote the OP, since that's the only way I can explain the entire rules. Without knowing what you need, I can't help you find it.

I just assumed they were just gold coloured, rather than made out of literal gold. You know, the slightly more sensible option (as far as that applies to giant firebreathing flying lizards).
Well, you look up the density of dragonscale. Given that it's completely arrowproof (remember, arrows cut through plate armor like a hot needle through a sheet of butter), it's definitely not keratin.
Here's my area of expertise, and I can say BULLSHIT on multiple counts. Going off of DnD logic, I can say that it isn't completely arrowproof, but that's besides the point.
Longbows worked against knights because they could get through the lighter parts of the armor on the limbs, the chainmail and such. They only dented the breasplate and such.
Depends on the conditions. In good conditions, they went through breastplates.
Either that or my vaguely-remembered sources are wrong, but regardless, the point I was trying to prove is still valid, because chainmail is also way tougher than any organic substance.

Begin terraforming GreatWyrmGold's face into volcanic atmosphere that constantly erupts and spews lava on him.
"What do you expect this to do? A, it makes no sense. B, I am immune to fire."
Irrelevant. Lava is molten rock. Rock is super-effective against fire. You are gold dragon and breathe fire, thus you are fire element. Ergo, lava is super effective against the GWG.
Lava is Fire element. Everyone knows that. More importantly, in the source material for gold dragons, lava deals fire damage and is explicitly noted to not deal any damage to fire-immune creatures.
And by what logic does Rock deal extra damage to Fire?
That's a faulty assumption, and shame on you for going off popular opinion, GWG. Second off, what source? You don't think there's multiple games with gold dragons in them?
Third, it's called a type advantage.
Your assumption is also faulty and based off of popular opinion.
I am not just a gold dragon, I am a great wyrm gold dragon. D&D.
By Pokemon logic, lightning should not affect anything grounded and should kill anything not grounded. Outside the Pokeverse, Pokemon type advantages have no meaning.

And who is requesting Selina friend to come into the camp? Selina herself, her friend, or the officers?
The friend seems interested, so Selina either agrees or eventually capitulates to show her around.

Only if the rock is bigger than the fire. And, let's face it, at that point a mass of paper would extinguish the fire. Or gasoline.

((In my defense, I didn't think a Repair word would exist. "Control" is a pretty well-known thing from this kind of game...okay, mostly the original.))

Derm points off to the exit. "Uh. There's a chasm over there if you need it. Are you gonna attack us, or...?"
You can hear Karen's voice in your head:
But the Dragon Knight cannot, and he's rather uncomfortable.

Roger also speaks loudly from the sphere:
We are well aware of the pit. But walking to that place is not actually worth the effort. This sphere is not something easy to break.
"If walking is not worth the effort, why is coming here? What is your purpose, and what do you want with us?"

How would you feel if someone was sticking drills into you and cutting out your bones and blood and skin and stuff?
Have you ever had a bone marrow biopsy? This is exactly what that is.
I don't want a biopsy and they're taking a lot more than bone marrow so no it isn't that.

I just assumed they were just gold coloured, rather than made out of literal gold. You know, the slightly more sensible option (as far as that applies to giant firebreathing flying lizards).
Especially since gold isn't an organic material, or one found in measurable quantities in life, so in order to grow scales he'd literally have to eat treasure and then somehow deposit fully formed scales onto himself.
Many dragons from the legends did something more or less like that. Either they did eat metals and incorporate them into their bodies, or they lay down on hoards of treasure and let the treasure act as scales.

Destroy everything and everyone.

Roll To Dodge / Re: Thawed (Boot Camp)
« on: March 25, 2014, 10:16:25 pm »
Remind me to standardize the skills at some point...

-snip-
Kyle focuses on training his body to fight with minimal aid from anything else. He also spends time among his officers, chatting with them and flirting with Finna. [4+1-1-1] It takes a long, long time, but eventually she warms up to him. In the night, however, Kyle relieves his negative feelings which seem to be strangling his magical potency by getting in contact with the criminal element in the camp. It's not significant, but it's there, providing the soldiers with various illicit goods and services.
From the officers, Kyle learns of the strategy. Most of the details bore him, but he does learn some useful stuff. First, while the major contributors are the King of the Southern Isles and the Duke of Weselton, various other nobles are providing soldiers, supplies, or both. Second, the camp you are at is one of several distributed around Arendell's borders and a couple nearby ports. Soldiers will begin marching from all of these places more or less simultaneously, forcing the queen to spread her attention and forces. Her personal power, while great, can only be applied to one area; if she marches to battle, most of the forces will be able to avoid her. Arendell being a small kingdom, any given portion of the army would be able to reach the capital within a few weeks under normal circumstances, which should exist for at least one group. Third, each section has a squad of "special" soldiers--mostly witch-hunters, but a couple of elite veterans and...well...you're one. These squads are intended to deal with any surprises the queen provides, and are supposed to be mobile enough to move to wherever their skills will be most useful.
Scene: One morning, after securing a profitable supply of fogweed (a magical plant which, when burned, produces a small cloud of dense yellowish fog that numbs the minds of those who inhale it) in their safehouse, Kyle and several other such people hear people above their storehouse...and they don't sound like customers.
Incidents: [5-1+0.2+0.4=5] Not once does your magic go out of control.

-snip-
Selina largely sticks to her roots, helping the hunters supplement their shipped bread supplies and such with fresh meat and plants. She becomes a friend with Alverus, an archer who often takes sentry and hunting duties; he teaches her some interesting tricks to do with arrows and helps keep her in touch with her friend.
These people, mostly from less populous regions of the various kingdoms, give Selina an insight on what such people think of this war. Most of them fear the Queen and Arendell, as much from their fear of magic in general as the snowfall in specific. They don't know much about magic, but they certainly understand that it's dangerous; you get the impression that for this reason alone, most people would consider this war to be a righteous one. They are also vaguely aware of various other reasons, but seem fuzzy on the details. Most understand that someone didn't get to marry someone, which made at least one of them angry, and that there are other reasons.
Scene: Selina's friend showed interest in the encampment, so she is eventually persuaded to brings her into camp.
Incidents: [6-0.2-0.4=5] Nothing. Good.

-snip-
Logan spends time with the heavy infantry, learning polearms and such. He also spends time with his compatriots, his squadmates, and learns as much about them as they're willing to tell. He focuses his time largely on training and talking, but manages to organize a few meetings with the others. For the most part, he keeps his head down, but he keeps getting in trouble--sometimes for legitimate things (see below), sometimes for more minor things. He and the officers didn't get off to a good start...
From the elite soldiers, he learns a few things. He gets a better understanding of the military for one, and of basic tactics. More interestingly, he learns how urban folks think of the whole Arendell situation. They understand that the queen is a danger, but don't understand the really dangerous stuff like the rural folks do--they see it more in terms of abominable snowmen and freezing temperatures. They do have a stronger understanding of the other reasons behind the war--the trade cutoffs, the jilted prince, and so on. As to if it's right or not...most people here seem to think so, but you get the impression that their opinions are heavily (if unconsciously) enforced by their feelings towards the wronged nobles. As to the people themselves...they're people.
Scene: One of these meetings arranged by Logan, bringing all the others into one location to chat and learn more about each other.
Incidents: [3-1=2] More than once, Logan's power escapes him; one time, he ends up burning a few soldiers, which leads to more flogging.
The military sucks.

-snip-
Angel practices when she has to, but when she doesn't she hangs out at taverns, pubs, and basically anywhere that soldiers go to drink, fight, and have a good time. [3-1=2] She gets beaten up a lot, but manages to avoid getting too maimed (well, physically--she's getting a reputation for having bark but no bite). You get to know the local medical staff pretty well.
From the assorted drunkards, you learn all sorts of rumors. You can draw on this knowledge at various times, although it might not be 100% accurate!
Scene: You're...um...Did she do anything that the other PCs could show up at somehow?
Incidents: [6+1-1.3-0.3=5] You ever accidentally set off your magic, remarkably.

-snip-
Kext spends much of his time with three things: Fire, crossbows, and horseshoes. While the crossbows and horseshoes are pretty self-explanatory, the fires took many forms, from those he started, to those he fenced with, to those he sang around. He did all these things around common men, doing his best to avoid being near the nobles and even the higher-ranking officers. In the course, he learned a fair amount about what the soldiers think of their officers, the nobles, and this war.
The short of it is, the soldiers don't much like their officers, on average they don't much care about the nobles, and while most agree that a war should be fought against the Sorceress-Queen, they disagree on such matters as who should be fighting it and why. One thing they all agree on is that they don't want to be the ones fighting her! Aside from this basic stuff, Kext also learns that the soldiers are rather...divided on the little squad he's in. On one hand, they're not a big fan of magic (but who is?); on the other, they're glad that it means they won't have to fight the really magical stuff themselves.
Scene: Kext has managed to persuade some of his squad to play horseshoes with the soldiers, hoping this makes the soldiers distrust them less.
Incidents: [6+whatever] Yup, no incidents.

-snip-
Kuroe pretends to be a child as much as she can, which isn't much. She learns some athletic and military skills, but manages to alienate the soldiers with some ill-timed magic metal.
War is hell. This is something the soldiers relay. (She also learns bits of what the others chatting with soldiers learn, but all of them got that.)
Scene: Well, you...didn't give me much to work with.
Incidents: [2+0.2=3] You have a couple of close calls, and manage to freak out the soldiers.

Order Rolls:
Kyle-1
Selina-3(4)
Logan-3(1)
Angel-5
Kext-2
Scene Order: Kyle, Kext, Logan, Selina, Angel

So. First, we'll have Kyle dealing with the probable fuzz. The others (except Logan, who the officers don't trust--sorry, GUNIN) would have been offered a chance to help bring some smugglers to justice. Which ones would have accepted the offer?
rag, any ideas? The other PCs don't seem the type to engage in bar fights...
scapheap: If you care to beef up your explanation of what Kuroe did, I'd probably be able to give her a Scene after Angel's.

3178
To my knowledge, you can't put symmetrical legs on non-symmetrical Science Juniors without having problems.

3179
Why are the legs wonky?
I didn't use the Symmetry function. That way, I could use action groups on the individual Science Jr's and Mysterious Goo canisters.
If anyone else knows a good way to do this, let me know.

"...I'm not pregnant... and I didn't eat sushi yesterday... And its not that time of month... its a lord or somethin blocking me." Luna attempts to summon a demon she can get information from.
This occurs rather faster than expected, almost as if someone was working with her to summon it.
The demon appears, ten feet tall, blue-skinned, and four-armed. It glares at Luna.

Bartimaeus shapeshifts into a demon.
"I want to go to hell."
