((I see The Most Interesting Man in The World, Street Fighter 3(?), Every 'Realistic' FPS Ever, and Every RPG Arena Ever.))
((You missed I Wanna Be The Guy.

I suppose I didn't get in, then? Oh well.))

I'm sad I missed this.

Post to hopefully get onto the waitlist for the second one of these.

Look at the nearest, small settlement. Recall what I know of it, then send my most charismatic and attractive of my servants to enter town and seduce the town's leader.

I LIKE this thing!
Say, why don't I just go whole-hog?

Lay down on anvil. Let the thing work on my whole body.
This can only end badly.

Oh my. Annie's going to get killed! But there's not much I can do...unless...

"What are you things? You're certainly not human. And what do you mean, 'this one'? Please explain."

Try to provoke the winged things to exposit. If successful, creep towards them. If the guy with the swords reacts violently before I'm within range, or if anyone else does so, run; if not, creep towards him until I can dash towards him within a second or two, then charge, make like Buffy and stake the thing with the icicle. If this kills him, grab the loot and run; if this doesn't, run faster.

"...Ooh. What does this setting do?"

Set the Aggression of the dinosaur to max, the aliens to min, Ms. May to somewhere in the middle, Mr. Jim to a bit lower, and Ms. Feyri to somewhere below that. Stand back and watch what happens.

He's the best claimant we know of.

Out of two.

"I aimed for their supplies lines, taking down a 'farm' of theirs."
"I grabbed some used newpapers out a garbage can, and cut and pasted a stereotypical warning note: 'I'm coming for you. The...' At that point, I realized that I didn't have a name."
"I couldn't think of anything, so I asked the voices that told me how to build the gauntlet. They called me the Catalyst."

31794
There's plenty of ways to disguise your appearance, too. A Hat of Disguise could disguise a tiefling as an aasimar or something, for instance.

"Why would I hold the actions of the father against the son? You are a clean slate, as far as I'm concerned...unlike certain claimants. I believe you are the best choice, and to my knowledge the most rightful one."

Glorious Weapons looks really good (Complete Divine; every allied melee weapon in 60ft becomes Good Aligned for the cost of a turn undead usage) as does Mobile Spellcasting (Complete Adventurer). Intuitive Attack (Book of Exalted Deeds) could let me use my Wisdom instead of my Strength for Simple weapons... Sacred Vitality (Libris Mortis) would let me spend one of my turn attempts to gain immunity to ability damage, ability drain, and energy drain for 1 minute, which is pretty nice. Spurn Death's Touch from the same book would let me spend a turn attempt to either heal 1d4 ability point damage, remove paralysis, or remove a negative level, but it has the restriction that those effects have to be caused by the undead. Still, could be useful. What do you think?
Sacred Vitality and Glorious Weapons sound pretty good, if a bit situational.

But the arena fight is low risk, and the ruby quest could take an extended period of time. We don't know the precise location of the ruby, or what stands between it and ourselves.
These, essentially.

Get the ruby. If we get the wrong ruby, we can sell it for stuff, in addition to finding stuff. Also, we can grab everything we find and take back to the shop to sell if it's useless.
Remind me, what ruby have we seen?
None. That's the problem.

Basically: We know where the arena fight is and what the risk is (near zero). We have NO idea where the ruby could be, nor of what danger we will face when we look for it. I'd rather do the arena fight first. We're not exactly going to be facing balrogs, guys. You can tell from the lack of wings.

"Gah gah...ha!"

seduce Skhasha

This will end poorly.
For you. It'll be hilarious to me.
Maybe not for M'Ber.

If nothing else, there's a feat in the Complete Divine called Augment Healing or something.

He's a cleric; who am I to complain?

Although might I advise a morningstar? Saves a feat.
