By this time, GreatWyrmGold had finished the tunnel to the main fortress and sealed it with a locked hatch on his end and a hole on the other. His shack now had actually halfway decent walls; if Toady didn't implement wall destruction yet, they would hold. A notable feature was the antechamber which could easily have a new wall built in it, sealing the shack. It was actually almost a (very) small house, but he called it a shack. He had also made a number of crude wooden chairs and some similar tables. They were mostly slabs of wood, but the others were fine with them for dining. Pretty good for the first three days.

Thankfully, his crossbow stayed unused.

GreatWyrmGold got back to work on the beds.

Again, the problem is that all of those non-suggestion games won't be easily found with all of these suggestion games popping up everyday. I don't want to make a forum game, only to have to bump it multiple times throughout a short-time span because multiple short-lived and poorly made suggestion games clutter up the forum.
This is a very well-reasoned and understandable concern, save one aspect.
It's not true.
Most suggestion games on the first page aren't two-minute hack jobs, they're long-running, well-thought-out games, often with rules as complex or more so than many non-suggestion games.
Yes, there's lots of suggestion games...but that's a definition which is pretty flexible. Pretty much any one-character game is a suggestion game; there's no other universal features.

"...Sir Drakonis!

Cleric, stabilize him! NOW!"

32254
"Ow! Okay, next time YOU speak up...Walton! No biting dwarves!"

32255
[Anyone here like beer? Or think they've become dwarven enough in the transition to need it? Just my two cents, might make for a more compelling story if you stumble at first with all the things you have no clue about, as if you really were trying this in real life. Of course, if anyone has technical knowledge about distilleries, do not hesitate to step forward! Knowing the general principal could also go a long way.]
(I'll stick to water, and juice and milk when we get them.)

Having since finished the depot and a crude building encompassing the workshop and my sleeping area, GreatWyrmGold looked to the horizon.
"I smell something..."
He hurried to the fortress and grabbed a pickaxe and started to dig from his shack to the fortress. Best to have an escape tunnel...

I'm willing to admit I suck at social interaction, but you all kinda brought this on yourselves by not trying to summarize before I did...kinda...

The Cyberwarfare thing is a Suggestion RPG hybrid, and from what I've seen it's best defined as an RPG.
And it's not alone. I've got a couple of (languishing) suggestion games which use RPG mechanics; if there were multiple characters, they'd undeniably be RPGs.

Personally, I don't see the problem. Are there a lot of suggestion games? Yes. Are most suggestion games worthless, cheap ones? Yes. Are most of the active ones--ie those in the first few pages--the worthless ones? Not from what I've seen.
I just don't see the problem.

This is a great idea GWG.
I thought so, too, but apparently no one else has/wants us to help with this problem.

I don't see any good, firm definitions. Roll to Dodge and Mafia are semi-definite systems; you can usually define them easily. Suggestion games? A bit tougher. Roleplays? Dang near impossible.

The first managed to slip in an action and the second found Ana alley cat. Thanks, though!

Focus fire light onto them like a giant procreating magnifying glass is perched high in the sky in front of the sun.
[4] You set one on fire. The others glance at him and bolt. Your stomach rumbles loudly, not helping stealth. You're getting hungry...
[5,5] You feel something coming out of your hands, because the Dice Gods have seen it fit to grant you get another destructive power.

Take the bus home. Celebrate being the guy who isn't part of the big psycho mutant bloodbath.
You get on the bus and start cheering about how you're not a crazy mutant. No one believes you.
[4,3] Especially since you sprout an extra pair of legs. Good thing you're just wearing a bathrobe!

...Its raining? HAHAHAHA, WEATHER MAN YOU ARE THE BEST! Make it pour!

"Awh hell." Rick makes a break for the exit, using his control of water to either force the water in people around to push them away, or use existing water to push/shove/wash people away. If lethal force is used, be more forceful, if non-lethal force is used just focus on pushing them away from self then.
Your attempt at bloodbending fails, but [5] a convenient water cooler allows you to drive off everyone until a bunch of people come running. One has a singed beard.
[6,1,6] Your arms become batty wings and you get a weirdly chitinous skin. Your limbs also turn buggier. Even your new arms are sorta bug-jointed.

Grab him and try to grow my roots into his head.
Grab him with my feet if necessary.

No, you have roots in your shoulders, remember?
Anyways, [6v2] you snag him in your shoulderoots as your toes dig through your shoes. Your roots start tightening around his head...
[2] ...and you don't mutate to grow them faster.

Quote
[4-1] Thunder booms. "...And how do you
explain the woman?"
[3]
Police cancel notice woman: too insane
Different police.

Quote
fly away, crash into a spectacle store, steal sunglasses
[6] Oh fun. You fly into a store, which immediately becomes a spectacle as a tall, winged guy breaks his neck as he crashes through the front window.
[6,2,4] You suddenly stretch, roughly doubling in height and becoming rather thin. You vomit; it's projectile.

Quote from: Helpful Bay12er
Go find a lab rat!
Bruce looks for a pet. Or maybe livestock. [1] He finds a large alley cat interested in the small, edible creature in the dumpster.
[5,6;2] His nose turns into a beetle.

-----

"Oh, would you look at that! That guy's hurt! Let me help you with that, man!"
Remove scalpel from That Guy's hand. Stab him with it repeatedly if he starts trouble.
"Well... that was wierd.... I thought my hand was a person.... I gotta stop doing that hahaha! Now.... real persons that I hope really are real, I hope you enjoy death!"
Stab the closest person to me in the eye and all the way to the brain.
Smash a hole in the wall, pick up Walther and start climbing the building. Because I've always wanted to recreate king-kong with somewhat of a role reversal.
[4v2-1] That Guy has the scalpel removed by a helpful nutjob [6-1v4] who gets hoisted up by and slung over the shoulder of Giant Girl Alexandra. She then [5] locates and breaks a large window before climbing out, with Guy shouting behind her. [3-1-1] Alexandra, weighted down by Walther and slipping on the wet climbing thing, falls; [3v1] her sheet falls off and Walther would make a joke about a naked woman falling onto him if he wasn't in pain from a nine-foot naked woman falling on top of him.
[1;1;4] Giant Girl gets a new power--Magneotism! [2] Cool! Shame Walther isn't made of metal...

"Wicked sweet!"
Commit further acts of poorly-thought out and ill-advised attempts to further mutate myself.
[5] You grab another syringe of super-serum and poke it into yourself. Maybe you should diversify...
[1,6] You go blind!

((You didn't roll for me to get new mutations!  :'( ))
If at first you don't succeed... TRY, TRY AGAIN!
(Your serum only rolls every other turn, barring extra injections.)
[6] You spin about, confusing a lot of people. One security guy mistakes you for Crazy Joe and shoots! [1] You fall unconscious...
[3] You gain an astonishingly unuseful sense!

And any suggestions on what to do with Bruce?

Give a random adult male or female on board a lap dance.
May is such an interesting person, isn't she?

"Alright, Mullet. Say, how about this? You give me a hen, I give you your choice of the first five beds I make.

"Oh, look, a new friend. Hello there..."

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Delinquent Players Help
« on: April 05, 2013, 08:29:40 pm »
I have an occasional problem where players miss a turn or two for unknown reasons. I'm sure we all do. This is a thread to resolve such issues!

Here's how I imagine this working:
1. Player A doesn't post a turn in GM B's game.
2. B posts in this thread, with a brief description of the situation and ideally a link to the most recent turn the player posted in (or at least the game).
3. Bay12ers C and D reply, possibly quoting B or each other so we know which one they're referring to.
4. B takes C and/or D's suggestions.
5. Hilarity ensues.

-----

I'll kick it off. I have a game where the players play mutants. One is still in the lab room and doesn't have much of mutations (although he does think he's a pirate); the other is a repeat offender with a nice little house in a dumpster. Mutations include a snake tail instead of legs, translucent flesh, sensitivity to light, dyslexia, and being really small. What should these people do?

32265
Hm...

So where are we now?
