Roll To Dodge / Re: McGaha Branch--Turn 4
« on: March 12, 2013, 08:55:28 pm »
I just realized something: All three updates have been on either the top or the bottom of a page.

-----

Round 4:
463 Georgians vs. 478 Tarheels vs. 82 South Carolinians vs. 47 MILOSes vs. 11 Demons vs. 2 Zombies

GA:
John McBaroon pauses in his Tarheel massacre to cut the demon that just grabbed his face. [4v2] He cuts a massive gash in the tentacled demon's side, causing black ichor to drip out. He then gets dragged along the ground a bit.
An NPG officer [5] improves discipline in the ranks!
An NPG with a shotgun runs to a demon and [5v4] fires a shot at it.

NC:
Clair Swordshark, Broadswordswoman, [3v1] chops some schmuck in half.
Jack Robson aims at Joe again, [2v2] another grazing shot. [4v6] He then gets his nose ripped off.
John M. Keynes uses Keynesian economics to get some tanks! Wait, what? [4] He obtains a single, crude, steamtank!

SC:
Joe Houser smacks a demon who grabbed another human, ranting about how it was in HIS day. [2v1] The demon turns around to see what it is, causing him to step into the swing.
Joe Noodles tries to bite Jack Robson's head off. [6v4] He rips off the latter's nose, choking on it.

MILOS:
The charismatic, or at least intoxicated, leader of the movement makes a speech! [6] Several soldiers sprint to Congress even as more join, including some blacks and a racist. Needless to say, troop numbers stay fairly constant.

Demons:
Timelord Squidface [4] teleports to John McBaroon and [5v5] grabs onto him. [2v4] He then gets a massive gash cut along his side! Then he hears someone jabbering at him and turns around, [1v2] only to be struck between the eyes with a well-aimed cane blow, dazing him!

Undead:
The two zombies find the supply caravan.

NPC:
The forces clash. [2+1+1v2+1+1v5-1v6v1+1] The MILOSes come out with only two casualties, no doubt due to the inspirational speech given earlier. The demons lose two to the MILOSes and their traitorous demon, while the Georgians and Carolinan forces lose two dozen each.

439 Georgians vs. 449 Tarheels+1 manned (5) crude steamtank vs. 58 South Carolinians vs. 48+1 demon MILOSes vs. 8 Demons vs. 2 Zombies

The man sounds like he can handle himself, at least for a bit. Save him from bandits, it's more impressive.

Besides, if he's too wimpy to hold off some bandits on his own, and he's travelling alone through an area with bandits, how bright can he be?

33453
See if he wants to join. If not, see if we can convince him otherwise.

33454
Mr. Face? Meet Mr. Palm.

That, or the Shinobi isn't too stealthy.

You're incorporating companies?

I saw what you did there.

There's no bad history of mages in the kingdom.
It's implied by all the prejudice and the only mention of major mages in history being negative.
There's actually only 1 mage we know of. But he was a tyrant, so I suppose that 100% of the historic mages have been portrayed negatively...
Which makes it wrong to say none have been. And yeah, ignorance is annoying.

Quote
At the same time we know that court magicians (plural!) exist, so it's not exactly like they are hated and forever banned in the kingdom.
Obviously but you don't have to be banned to be disliked.

Train more troops
These are your primary means of accomplishing things in an unsafe world. Providing your citizens with basic armament training is good idea (and I believe we do this already by having them practice about an hour or two a week as I recall).
Good [insert name of local deity], when will we have enough of a military? We've already got 35 or 40 full-time military men, which since our total population is under 1,000 should be sufficient, and I'm pretty sure we already have a program where most civilians get military training and stuff. If we don't we should start one, but that's it. We're not in a war-torn area and we have no reason to amass a huge army.

We should probably do something about the razed thorps and thowns, but I don't think our rangers are very good at recon.

Why not talk to the mage? He helped us to fulfill or curiosity in magic. Why not talk to him?
Because we don't trust him as far as we can throw him?
For one. For another talking to a mage is suspicious (given the history of mages in the kingdom). Do you really want to do that now, when we brought the attention of the whole court to us?

And now scapheap can put a pawn on A8 or H8.

Loud Whispers?

You head back to the room with the statues and retrieve the crowbar. Returning to the door, you cautiously reach out and try the...well, it was a doorknob, but now it's more of a fleshy thing. You pull on it slightly, causing the door to vanish.

Well, then. What on here is that?

You also consider developing telekinesis. You can imbue things with traits, create things, and probably expunge traits from stuff. You're not sure what all you could do past that. And, frankly, I'm not sure if I can think of all you could do. You Bay12ers are just so creative even without having restricted omnipotence.

I'm pretty sure the scout moves 2 or 3 forward, but captures one forward or diagonally, similarly to the pawn.
Yup.

javierpwn and Loud Whispers both got scouts, and Whispers gets to choose if he wants to put his on B4, B3, F4, or G3.

javier?

World will regrow if given right conditions. Mighty acts are really powerful so we must choose things that will clean up as many things as possible at once, otherwise they are squandered.
If I choose to clean up atmosphere and restore the weather cycle, that should let plants come back, polar ice to reform and oceans to stabilize. Any other suggestions on really far-reaching fixes. Come on people ,we failed to discuss this IC, at least help me out OOC.
But wouldn't it be better to have a goddess specializing in such, especially if she cares about mortals?

Now, for a more reasonable question - what are the problems with the planet that still need fixing? I have 2 Mighty acts and I want to repair at least one thing.
There's no goddess of storms?
