...Didn't GWG have a ring that let himself shrink?
Ayup. Ring of Shrinking, Savage Species, 3,600 gold, something I was about to recommend.

34218
That's probably acceptable, depending on what you're offering in return. The "leave me for last" thing or something more temporary?

And about the iron thing...how does war work?

34219
Daaang. Well, Xantalos, don't say I didn't tell you not to fight.

Oh, and Ardas: The constant pain is a good down payment for the death of Neyravah.

Well, the battle is written, according to Ghaz. Time to watch the fireworks.
Literally.

All sentient life is obliterated on all continents except the North, Eversummer, and The Dwarven Cotinent. Because the Shattered.
Xantalos destroyed the Dwarven continent.
2 Continents left.(Not including Shadelands, but all life is poisoned by my death there; except the Shades)
The North is mine for now........ Unless worship is polytheistic, a god of the Wilds can be very territorial....
...You do know what the word "Pantheon" means, right? And you noticed what Az-Sho, Corvus, and Udil did?
Yes, and look what happened to them. - plus i did mention polytheistic worship wasn't out of the question. udilesque worship however, is.
Well, yes. I was referring to "Unless worship is polytheistic," which I just realized wasn't a question.

Nooo.......!!!!!!! Not the Soultaken  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(
Agreed. With that, the last of Neyravah's legacy not bound up in that traitorous former dwarf are gone.

As it turns out Az-Sho's followers were worth a shit-ton of acts, since I took them on all at once. He was, in fact, stronger than Thaneos, Hammer and Armor included. Oh well. I can say that I was the most successful god by far, although I think Udil will supplant me.
Except you weren't a god. And if I have my way...

I live underwater so unless anyone is jealous of my fish kingdom, I'll probably be okay.

GWG, let's go to the spire anyway.
Aye.

Hey, if he goes for Corvus, who we know can drive things insane, he could use this to drive already nearly mad Udil over the edge. Unfortunately, this may not have any actual effect, as hes already far gone
True dat.

Or just brain drain him into being a dumbass who can't even wield a sword without stabbing himself.
That would be hilarious, but you'd have to do something more than a simple "expose him to all knowledge" trick...PM me or something to find out more.

The ash will apparently last for 'days'
so things will probably be bearable, although the closer to the 5th continent the worse i imagine it'll be.
It's probably not going to be much worse than Tambora.

I've just realised, all relatives of dwarvenkind are now dead on the planet.
Except Udil and his guards...but yeah, Nelkathar's going to be lonely.

When family is involved, the Count has a good excuse for invading us like he's likely wanted to since we found that mine. "I'm sorry, Your Highness, but when they took my daughter's husband I just couldn't stand it--I ordered the attack in a rage, and before you know it, his little militia is crushed and his head on a pole. Well, since he died without an heir, I guess that means his lands go to his liege..."

And assassination is worse. While it's probably possible to find a stealthy assassin if we had to, it's likely too expensive and definitely a bad idea. The assassin and anyone else who catches a drift of it will have GREAT blackmail material; discovering that we had his son-in-law killed would bring the Count's wrath on us faster than anything short of going into his house and smacking him in the face.

Only if we keep them allies, which requires not looking like a sphincter.
They were practically screaming to fight back for us when the assassins came. They said if it came to war, they were behind us. They probably think we're a sphincter right now for not doing something. A distended sphincter, to be precise, quite worn and used.
Well, there's a difference between "someone" and "unsanctioned kidnapping of the count's son-in-law," now isn't there?
Just ask the duke for permission or something first is all I'm saying.

If the Count attacks us, it is treason. We are a servant of the king, an unjustified attack on a kings vassal is an attack on the king himself.
As noted, the Count could argue a pretty good justification if we arrested the wool merchant right now.

If we go to an authority, either the count, his marshal or the duke, we are doing things legitimately, as long as we do things legitimately we have the legal right to demand justice, any refusal to allow us to do so is very bad form, outright illegal if he handles that wrong.
I do not think we should kidnap the merchant, we should charge him, doing so forces our enemies into a situation they can't win in.
Also, the merchant may very well give up the count in exchange for leniency.
This merchant tried to *kill* us, and now is sending armed men into our lands, i would be surprised if he could worm himself out of that, counts son in law or no.
I agree with this.

Assuming we can figure out what exactly a trainplane is, I think we'll have to make it that one.
Sounds like some sort of flying train. No, wait, the "air-" prefix means the airplane is flying...a winged train?

34222
We'll see. We'll see. I'd rather do some normal trade or tribute or something, though. No pressure from the south would be nice.

Spoiler: Orders (click to show/hide)

It's not a question of "hatred and dirty tricks". It's a case of giving him a perfectly valid reason to come and get our lands.
No. The fief was given to us by the King, so the Count may be the largest local authority, but our land was not his desmesnal holding, recieved from him with an oath of fealty. Do you remember swear fealty to him? I'm not entirely sure that we are his direct vassal without an oath. He can't march on it.
Still doesn't mean we can just arrest his subjects.

A: Wars DO happen when not-so-random (son-in-law, remember?) merchant are arrested by a vassal right in one's land.
No. They don't. If he wants to chase after us, fine. If he wants to attack us, also fine. But there is no legal basis for either.
If we detained his son-in-law and vassal without any kind of official justification, he would.

B: he has at least ten to twenty times our forces, and our neighbour won't join us if we just kidnapped the count's son-in-law.
We've already seen his forces. We were part of them. I think we and our allies can handle that.
Only if we keep them allies, which requires not looking like a sphincter.

And we have some evidence, mainly from the assassins, like how the first set was looking for a Sir Rock (no reason to lie about that) and these connections to the wool merchant, not to mention the clear motive...but yes, our case is a bit shaky for now.

"Assumed" purity.
Kobolds, as their origin has them literally made from dragon blood, are pretty strongly dragonblooded; dragonwrought kobolds are even more so.

Quote
And that doesn't count for much with Drak's behavior :P
How so?

34225
And actually, YOU are one of the 2 people GWG referred to 'sharing the same sins'. Having fun in a random village while the rest of us tried not to die? Yeah, thought so...how very helpful of you to run away on almost entirely Meta knowledge...
I hadn't noticed that, but it's very true--even more so than it was for Maxine!
My character studied and failed to copy books and whatnot, slowing down the speed at which others learned.
Cyber's character was out of the tower during the siege, threatening the ability of the others to live...
And no guilt?

34226
Keep in mind Udil broke the pantheon by attacking Az-Sho and trying to attack Ravenas. And it was somewhat Corvus' fault for being forgotten.
Why is that your fault?
Being forgotten, perhaps. Being hated, certainly not.

Welp, the planet's screwed....
This is news to you?

scapheap's posted his turn ahead of schedule again, it seems. :P

Let's go with a Precariously Perched location with Kadzar.

34228
The biggest reason for the delays between turns is simple procrastination.

I'd add buffers to the sides, but I'd have to add a couple extra rows and shift the whole board to the side a tile, and that's just not important enough to me to bother.

Doomy's turn.

The ethnic diversity of our party is impressive. We've got a living construct, a kobold (half silver dragon?), a half drow/half dragon, a half celestial werebear, a gnome with shadow powers, and a 'basic' human harrowed. I think. I could be wrong. :P
Not quite half-dragon, just dragonwrought. On top of being a dragonblooded species to begin with, hence the greater purity of draconic blood than Raiss.

Hall of Fire FTW!
Oh, God, this is going to be ugly. Only one other player has so much as a smithy.
Oh geez. Remind me to start building some more buildings...
