I agree, the darker green should be forests.

As to the other stuff: Beach size may be fine, depending on scale, and lakes are okay to have in small numbers.

And something not asked: Maybe something to show where the mountain peaks are would be good?

Other Games / TF2, Pyros, and Arguments
« on: February 18, 2013, 03:41:18 pm »
I have this one friend who plays Team Fortress 2. We get into arguments about stuff fairly often. One we've gotten into a couple times has been about the Pyro class in TF2.

He claims it has no real weaknesses (claiming that the Flare Gun solves the range issue) and that my counterarguments are null and void because I rarely play (although I've read the wiki, the TV Tropes page, and other such material much more than he has).

Is he correct, and if not how could I convince him that he's wrong?

Oh yeah, this game will run on a netbook, BTW.
Excellent.

Also player villains are the best thing ever. Well, you know. Subtle, classy player villains are the best things ever.
Which means that player villains tend to approach being the worst things ever.

Also: Cheater.

Do we have enough masons and stone for a guild?

Is there even a wait-list for ascendants? Ghaz just said to post interest when a mortal becomes fate-touched.
Oh.

If the new dragon is Fate-Touched, I'm interested.

(How is a 4 a passing out? I would think that would be a 3....)
Here's how it works and how you could have divined it:
You had, last turn, 4 turns to hold your breath. One was used by the turn, and one by saying the word, which could have been guessed by me saying "meh, you can blow one" and noting you only had two turns left at the bottom. Thus, you burnt two more rounds this turn, taking you down to 0.
The 4 was a roll to not drown.

Pour chemicals over imp. Admire results.
If this doesn't work, pour chemicals on hat.
If this doesn't work, ask the scientist what it is he wants us to do.

I suggest you to give an application on that newly created dragon... Should you want to play an  ascendant
Sure, if there's no one else being Ascendant I'll take an Ascendant.
But otherwise, since that's one of two ascendants this whole game--one near the start and one just now--I think I'll pass if there's already some people who wanted to be Ascendants.
(This is why posting waitlists is helpful.)

It was the spider right? The spider made him a god. I think.
Actually, Udil became a god by killing me.

I'm not sure why they look like that,
Because you're cutting tiles out and pasting them where they need to go, taking the borders with them.
Oh, that problem.
What's your proposed solution?
Don't use any borders.
I am starting to suspect I don't actually know what you're complaining about.

Which borders are the problem?

ever stop to wonder why in the hell we'd NEED copies once everyone was Adept?
What, are there no skill levels above Adept?
...If there aren't, I have misunderstood and wish I had realized that earlier.

As it was pointed out - you were a VOID mage. The door Ardas just opened? You could have destroyed it! Killer creatures in the catacombs? Kill them! Instead you spent, like at least one other here, ALL of your time trying to sit in the library - a fact that is now even more ridiculous since Terenos has pointed out heavy combat is a great way to accomplish a task AND make gains toward rank.
I hadn't realized that combat would do ANYTHING to help one advance in rank, and didn't (still don't really) trust Void magic to do stuff without collateral damage. That's why I only ever tried to use it when asked to and then when I was being actively killed.

First post made :) Although I have a feeling I'm gonna end up clashing with a god of order :/
And YAY DRAGONS!!!!
Do you want me to help you by spreading the living forest across the world?
Yes.

Remind me whose idea it was to make the angry Dwarf a god? Nothing good can come from this.
Well, I'll take the blame for making him an Ascendant, but I (even OOC) had no idea he would go all vengeful on me.
Well, until his first turn-post. Then only Neyravah were unaware of that.

And I'm kinda glad that someone's taken up my "legacy."

Anyways...is there a waitlist somewhere? More specifically, is there something that we need more people on? And that would probably get added back in sooner.
And why aren't people making Ascendants anymore?

Also, expand the amount of bricklayers and get working on finishing paving the rest of the streets. Also get the clayworks expanded so we can start building the entire town in brick+ stockpile brick for walls. Get permission from whoever we need to and replace the palisade with proper brick walls, though finishing our manor comes first so this can wait
Do we have enough potters and whatnot to do all that? If not, encourage our current ones to take apprentices.

Alright. 10 seconds per turn it is.

-----

The programmers have whipped up a nice little map with a fort--stronghold and an APC abandoned nearby.
Spoiler: Map (click to show/hide)
The three solid green circles are the control points. The two sets of concentric team-colored circles are the respawn areas for each team. The brownish rectangle is the APC. The little rectangles thingy is the stairs from the lower level to the upper.

-----

The round starts, the first-ever round of CSIII ever played.

On the green team are Larssen, Swedish accuracy expert and aggressive John Murrica as Super Soldiers, Ol' Kingsley as a Gardener, and Marcus Svensen as a Knight. They're short a Fleshwelder, but who needs 'em? Meanwhile, on the Red team, there's D.D. the (only) Fleshwelder, Archangel the quick-reactioned Knight, 73 Plus the tall lady playing the Gardener, and Joe the tactical Super-Soldier. The "commanding position" is randomly assigned to D.D. on the Reds and Kingsley on the Greens.

The round has begun. What's everyone doing this first turn?

Missed that.

I'll go with a Thraex, with a hammer as a weapon.
