Give assistant a raise.

Continue work on game. Get it into a playable state, with minimal bugs and features fully implemented. Playtest.

...Try to remember what game I was working on. Some RTS?

Skin journal, looking for any relevant information.

Don backpack, put spare items into it. Strike that, reverse it.

Question how I managed to explode someone with band-aids, and how this would be the result of overdoing something. Continue to do so until I've logicked my way out of my current predicament.

Which, the part where we lost a match or how it's kinda dumb to carry around lit matches to light your way?
No, which historical event?
The War of 1812.
Why did you say 1813 if you were thinking about the war of 1812?
1813 is exactly 200 years ago, and the War of 1812 ran a couple years over schedule.

@gman:
And what about spores in the food? Do they use powerful boons to destroy any trace of life in the food, somehow without affecting the food at all (despite the fact that the spores are scarcely more alive than the food), before sending it to the cities and such?
And what about that quarantine? How would soldiers deal with exposed Fungus Sleepers? They bleed red (due to maintaining most of the host's circulatory system), and so they'd need to either cut deep into the flesh to reach the fungus or else just incinerate the Sleeper. Great for morale, especially if a witch hunt breaks out. Can you say Salem? I knew you could.
It ruins morale (destroying the worshiperbase for the Empire), and that's if the Empire goes through with it.

What part of "control" does no one get?
I think most people just don't believe the control will work. We've all seen too many horror movies.
We control the Fungus Spawn. We control the gold dragons. We control the firejackets.
In case that's not enough, I suggested that each Fungus Sleeper's explosive pods (among the first new "organs" to develop) be able to be detonated by Donut as needed...which, assuming that the Sleeper has attained sufficient intelligence and free will to not listen to us to begin with, would cause it to realize that its continued existence relies on not angering us.
And then there's any other idea anyone can come up with, which no one else has because almost everyone else is condemning it, mostly for things which apply to Fungus Spawn as well.
But what if it goes horribly wrong and the fungus sleepers take over our populace?
Well, A. there's a reason we're proposing all of these controls, and B. the Sleepers would still be under our control, so there's that.

Quote
As for type B, I am not opposed to it, maybe small sleeper spores which grow and reproduce in the lungs instead?
...How would that be a Sleeper agent?

Next, three hours we should probably talk to Serena to see  when she want us to send a trade caravan.
Sure.

Quote
Then we should probably test extent of Leto abilites by doing what Karnewarrior suggests. Except we should probably speak with the Troglodites to see if they are intelligent.
Agreed, especially on the "See if trogs are sentient" bit.

Quote
Also maybe we should modify stems with the following attributes if there is enough time
-strong enough hive mind but weak enough for it not to form an intelligence, this is for faster communication and coordination among the ranks of the stems.
-very strong regeneration of lost body parts or tissue with contact with the sun or earth
-any loss tissue with sufficient biomass starts to turn into a fully working stem.
I like this idea...but would it be too expensive/limiting?

Oh, and I support suggesting the "Combined might artifact goes to the winner of the tournament" idea. Maybe we can organize similar competitions between us and Uristiel and between Uristiel and Krait, with similar artifacts being offered as prizes for those. Of course, the artifacts must be reclaimable by a similar competition.

As for the spores, I also think that they would have little effect. So what if they are "resistant to death magic" Maher will just turn up the death power until the resistance is overcome, or have his clerics burn it away. with necromancy, the casualties won't even hurt.
I never intended to use them against Maher, and that would A. require a lot more magic than normal, and B. require him to notice the infection...which, if done right, they won't.

Quote
As for the empire, they'll just quarantine and slaughter any carriers. They can easily suppress panic, and they have the reserves.
Only if they...wait, what? Oh, yeah. I hadn't thought of this...

Quote
Aside from that, we could just use people carrying spores. That's what laskus does.
Not accomplishing same purpose. Not subtle. Etc.

Part of the difference is that fungus spawn were an accident.
And yet we use them, and no one rejects us for it.

Quote
Another difference is that they essentially just hijack the enemy soldiers,
Yes, but Fungus Spawn do as well.

Quote
and a third is that they aren't a plague and are more easily controlled.
Again, controls have been suggested time and time again. Haven't you been paying attention? I even agreed to them and expanded on the idea once they were brought up!

Quote
I also think the sleepers won't be much better, because we can just spread fungus spores themselves in the food and such. It takes like a minute for the fungus to progress, and then it infects those in close proximity. With some diversionary attacks, we could plant spores and infect half the army in a matter of minutes. And all the mana used to sanitize the supplies and the hijacked populace costs us nothing.
Let's look at this bit by bit...
1. Can the Fungus Spawn spread without anyone knowing? Huh. No they can't. Funny, that was pretty much the whole point of the Sleepers' myriad methods of spread.
2. You have a lot of faith in the Fungus Spawn. Much more than I would...
3. "And all the mana used to sanitize the supplies and the hijacked populace costs us nothing." Huh?
4. The Sleepers aren't soldiers, they're sleeper agents! What gave you the idea that they would be used like Fungus Spawn??

so yeah what it comes down to for me, is to differentiating between military and civilian targets. And I prefer to fight a strong defence and trying to convert their powerbase peacefully, rather than going after the enemy to eradicate them. I don't think our goal should be to remove all order from the world. but instead to restore a balance and to free the oppressed minds from tyranny.
If only I had come up with some extra methods of control once this issue was brought up the first time, pages ago...oh wait I did.

We seem to partly be talking about different infiltrator concepts here, so I'll just call the type that murders the host and goes crazy Type A and the one that turns people into sleeper agents Type B. I am talking above about Type A.
...
THE SLEEPERS ARE SLEEPER AGENTS!!!

Large-scale zombie plague? NO.
What part of "control" does no one get?

Quote
And for Leto, when I said I'd like him "peaceful", I meant "not laksus-like". He shouldn't enjoy killing that much. He will be doing his duty, and be proud of that, but the act of killing by himself would bring him no joy. The fact that the act of killing served us will.
I don't want to bend a sword into a farm tool, I want the sword not to be bloodthirsty.
Agreed. You have to admit that there's a bit of vagueness in your wording...

Quote
And we will have more jaras. We should spend mana into more jaras rather than ZOMBIIIIIEEESS!!! (braiiiiiiiiins!).
1. Oh, of course. I never suggested we do the Sleepers right now. Although, have you considered that the Fungus Sleepers would most likely be as sentient as the host? (And certainly above Romero-zed intelligence.)

Who uses matches to get to the bathroom? Is this 1813 and not 2013? If so, let's avoid those colonies, the Brittish are going to take them back any month now and we don't want to be around when that happens
What event are you referring to?
Which, the part where we lost a match or how it's kinda dumb to carry around lit matches to light your way?

There's almost no way it was a significant event.
Spoiler alert: It is a significant event.

Um...Japanese mythology.

Aaand posted. Thank you for the trees, GWG. Now I have weapons AND armor!
You're welcome. Even if Neyravah isn't good at making mortals happy, Their actions often seem to help out the other gods.
Not that They'll ever use all that aid as leverage against them, of course. I might, if needed...

How many copies of Woddely's Magical Primer do you have? You're all apprentices, trying to move to Adept (2nd rank). You'd therefore all need to be performing the same studying, on the same books, which you have a limited supply of.
Oh. We're not ready for the separate primers for each of the various subschools or whatever yet?

Now, your post -seems- to imply you'll use magic to fight anyone who tries for the library, is this the case?
Not unless someone tries to call my bluff.
...Probably not even then, actually, unless they're really annoying.
(Or, to make it clear: Probably not, but I'll threaten to)

Read the book through a lens of transparent silver or something. That oughta stop the crazy.

Alternatively, not care and read the book to prove that we're madder than Soneret.

...Alternatively, just use the Dream Dagger.

Maybe we only had 9 to begin with?
