This might be the thing that finally destroys all the other online tabletop programs.
I doubt it. Anything physics-based is going to have too complex of controls for some people, and anything that requires money is going to lose customers to those who prefer the free stuff.

Copyright lawyer says otherwise. Good luck with that. Some boardgame makers/publishers are okay with derivative work and some will boot you upside the head with a lawsuit.
Indeed.

That still doesn't change the fact that they can't go after the software really, they can go after someone making a mod or a commercial game avalible as a mod, but I think going after the program itself is a huge stretch. Games workshop tried that with vassal because of the 40k module someone ELSE made some time ago and it bounced back just fine.
And if there's enough controversy, the whole feature won't be scrapped to stop drawing fire?

Other Games / Re: XCOM: Enemy Unknown (New by Firaxis)

Long War is to X-Com what X-Com is to Harvest Moon.
...A completely different genre?

By the way...hilarious bug, any idea if it ever got fixed?

Munar Return Cannon (way to get to the Mun not included)

Can we make this practical less impractical, perhaps so much so that they can be used to propel (small) packages from the Kerbin surface?

And if you had kept them, maybe he would have outrun that star he made!
He did keep them, actually. Just not The Doctor's idea of them. How else do you think he was standing on the side of the dam when he did that?
Yeah, but wouldn't multiple legs allow you to run faster than just two? With two legs you have to keep one leg constantly on the wall, unless you've got some really strong legs. And ceilings would be even harder with two legs compared to more legs.
On the other hand, coordination.

Honestly, for the titan pilot suits, a MKIII is probably all you need. If I recall correctly (haven't played the game or been looking at footage that much) they don't really have anything helping them out except the jumpjet. They just use the acceleration from that to run along walls.
Which doesn't make any sense, I'd like to note. Effectively run along walls? Sure, but unless there's gravity or something pulling them towards the wall they'll just push themselves off. And more likely than not they'd crash into the walls.

Seeing how a howitzer is a long(ish)-range weapon (though yes, I know there are 'light' shorter-range ones), I don't think one could get stable firing if it's shoulder-mounted. A grenade launcher, sure, but I'd sooner expect a howitzer to be carried (probably needing both hands) and deployed before usage. It's kinda weird the UWM deployed a howitzer at such short range (unless the definition of howitzer has changed by now, or the expected earlier waves to have cleared a path so this one could start shelling us).
It's definitely a long-range weapon, but I can definitely see a specialized artillery battlesuit having a shoulder-mounted howitzer (and some kind of auxiliary, movement-impeding stability system they could deploy, say a "kickstand" reaching from the back to the ground or something).

And let it be noted that those of us without the capability to run into the middle of the battlefield to snag loot, or who lack the desire to abandon our posts to do so, disapprove of the "first grabbing first served" method of loot distribution.

I'm a rebel.
Spoiler: GM only... AGAIN (click to show/hide)
Hug the cute baby rhino.
Also, my character is a little girl. Highly unlikely that she wants to eat the baby rhino.

"Come on, I can tell you aren't serious. Let's talk."
"Wh-what...?" Selina is both confused, and starting to look a bit afraid now.
Kyle pats her back with a smile.
If Kyle makes Selina run away again I swear to Bahamut I will drop rocks on him and he will not be able to manipulate them because they are rocks not fleshes.

"Don't worry. I mostly just used it to help my family make a killing in the beef market. Not many farms can afford to butcher their cattle you know."
((This in fact true by the way. At least in this time period.))
Which is why beef was a luxury meat.

Selina is a bit creeped out by this action and tries to pull her hand away.

((Would that do anything?))
Yes. It would make Selina's hand no longer in contact with Kyle's.

((...Am I the only one who checks this every few hours just incase?))
((I only check it when this suddenly jumps back to the first page, which it hasn't done too much lately.))
You only check the front page? I usually dig back as far as it's been since I've posted.

More likely, it would cause the caster to be smacked by whatever s/he was holding.

Indeed. After all, it's a pretty new game.

Harvest and Harvest and Harvest again!

Alright. IIRC, we were going to research Flight Control for reaction wheels and then keep trying to get other-biome science.
We do so, getting a new potential research option.

Shocker, we needed to research Flight Control first.

We design a neat science rocketbot, the Heuristic Airborne Laboratory.

Rejected name: Grand Laboratory, Advanced Discovery of Science.

Of course, you may be wondering: "Director GreatWyrmGold, it can't fly. How is it airborne?" Well, my clever friend, here is your answer:

With probably-fully-recoverable expended stanges!

This little rocket can probably take this wonder of science anywhere on the planet!
We start with a southward launch. 45 seconds in, the solid boosters run out of power and are supposed to be ejected, but they stick around.

At least the recoverable thingy worked.

And either one came loose when we ditched that stage, or the solid boosters are just tangled in the fuel tanks.

Even ejecting the lower stages, we are on a falling trajectory. Pointing straight up helped fix this. However, once we stopped, we started falling again. We really do need to be pretty much pointing straight up to avoid falling into the ocean.
Not quite two minutes in, we run out of fuel. Time to coast down, I guess...

We've fully scienced the oceans it seems.
I don't really want to go for too much longer with this battery, which I'll want to conserve for later, so...comment on the failure of HAL and give suggestions for how to science right, I guess.

This guy is hilarious!
If only I could get video for my KSP LP...then I could maybe make something that funny instead of as funny as I made it.

"Does it matter that much when we split up the money? How about a compromise--we split the money now, so it's not all in one place, then if someone makes a large number of group purchases or a large purchase for the group, we can pay him for it."

It has to be said...

((Why is Water magic still 0?))

"Alright. Is there anything else we feel we must do before we leave town?"

"Maybe find our healer? He seems to be highly important for some reason!"

"Also, you may be interested to know that I have..."
Lyu lowers his voice, "ten thousand gold - the Duke was rather generous. Shall we split it equally?"
"That would be equitable."

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you, the cosmos.
Spoiler: The cosmos is an onion (click to show/hide)
Rather less..onion-y than I had expected.

The *spikes* are their citadels, and it is said that their deepest dungeons reach all the way to the core, while their highest towers reach all the way into the mortal realm.

Um...there are worlds other than Earth.
I hate to sound a bit rough, but this isn't a minor detail. It's very much the opposite.

That's so ridiculous it's not even funny.

15. The wall of stars...
Dude. There are other stars. Astronomy works. Science works, it just didn't realize there was magic. This should be obvious from the friggin' aliens which showed up in a minor plot called the entire original friggin' game!

16.The void, that extents eternaly into all directions. It is so empty that even it contains the entirety of creation, multiple other creations, and then even some more stuff that you could travel through it for eternity and not meet a single thing. Currently the only known way to get out of reality into the void or viceversa is through the void gate.
I'm pretty sure Void and Creation have a more balanced duality than this...

Well yeah, but  he still didn't do anything. .okay, aside from insult your apathy once.. :v
But everyone makes fun of Elf's apathy!

is there anyone who actually enjoys the game?
Occasionally, yes. But my time away from the game due to technical issues...well, I don't find that I'm missing it that much.
Still, it's sometimes fun, it's a big thing I helped build, and darn if that isn't important to me, eh?

So two for, two against, one on the fence. I'll wait for Kj and Kansa.
and GWG and PrivateNomad and Projeck and Rag, also Poltifar
Breaks for the broken. Games for the gamers.
Nay. Just don't do anything important before I get back into the game.

So....yeah. Cado, if you want to leave permanently, that's alright. I hope you don't and that taking a temporary break gets you out of your funk...
Cado's in a funk? When did this happen?
WHY DOES NO ONE TELL ME ANYTHING? Don't answer that. The answer is obvious.

I'm literally shitting plot ideas right now.
You might want to consider changing your diet.
If you mean that somewhat less literally, you might want to not air those ideas out.

Well, I more meant these types of games. Nothing happens in them.
And yes I know there's plots and such in them, but from my experience they're ignored by half the cast and never really have any lasting effect on the participants anyway.
Despite our best attempts...*sigh*

Does anyone even care about Kyle? Like actually care?
Define "actually".

The angst seeds I planted about a year ago are bearing fruit.
Right. Your fruits.

I feel I would need to apologize for basically saying "Don't say I'm overreacting. Fuck you."
It works because, one way or another, you are overreacting!
