All in favour of trying to make our stems a full blow race, say aye.
Nay.
Make a Stem-like race which is a full race but is visually distinct from our Stems. That way, not only can our villagers tell them apart, other gods won't think we're invading if some emmigrate.

Also anyone in favor of genetically modifying our human followers to breed faster, grow into adulthood faster but also live an overall longer life?
Okay, while we're at it, let's just make them learn faster as well.
Aye if we use volunteers.

Squish everyone in sight
[5] I'll make saves for factions first. [3,2,5,2,4,5] The Heroes take a few casualties; the Sane People and Omnicidalists? take several casualties; and one Villager dies. These casualties are: [2,6] GraveHaunter and the Zombie Majikarp, [1,3,4] tomio, Vorthon, some Alexes, (and [4+3] almost Squidward), Xantalos, and a random villager.

Find a safe hiding point.
[5] You find a nice cave.

Order a magic girl charge on the sane people.
Repel the charge. With a minigun.
The Magical Girls charge! [2v5+1] Corai tries to shoot the Magical Girls, but the bullets suck at accuracy and get magically deflected away from innocent bystanders [1] and at themselves, oops. [6] They dodge, but this disrupts the charge, leaving them feeling foolish.

"I feel so... strange. What is this... feeling."

>SUFFER METAPHYSICAL CRISIS, REFLECTING ON PAST LIFE AND ACTIONS
Oh god. Let's try this out.
You suffer a metaphysical crisis, not reflecting on your past life but reflecting on your actions.
[6] Your head explodes, [3+4] but you don't die.

give myself a -2 modifier
[2] Nope.

Respawn as slightly-unhinged upper-class DF-player.
Summon more elite hatlings.
Burn down and loot the villages using army of elite hatling minions

[4] 7 Elite Hatlings summoned. [3+1v2] The village has been conquered, [2] and burnt. Once you burned it you couldn't loot it. However, the Popcorn Shop's Honor Barriers prevent it from being harmed. The soot makes the walls slightly messy. BWAH HA HA!

Attempt entrance exam for the SPPIAL again.
[2] No idea what that is.

It would be reasonable for me to give up and smash my way through everything, so I'll logic through everything instead.
[6] You now are disallowed from taking physical actions.

BOSS TURN:
Pistachio, depressed about never knowing her mom and having her dad die twice, among other issues, goes goth and [4] becomes a Magical Girl.
Black Mage rests (2/8); the vampire [1] accidentally kills an Alex to pass the time, intending to turn him.
The villagers [6] turn the popcorn shop into a village building.

What does MLK stand for? Just so you don't roll (3) You become a thing of milk
Martin Luther King (Jr.), of course. It's (the celebration of) his birthday today, I figured it would be appropriate.

Also, during the time when Neyravah rested, he flew over the world, visiting other gods' lands to greet the gods and see how and what they were doing.[/i]
Greeting, brother. It is nice to see you here. As you can see, I'm converting the lands that all of you neglected into winter-lands. Might I ask how your dwarves are going about with their business?
"Well enough. There's a few groups; one's fishing, one hunts a type of massive beast--the size of whales, but with elongated necks and tails, and living on land; I call them whipdrakes--and the ones I focus on, who wouldn't likely survive otherwise, are living in the mighty jungles, full of more massive creatures of my own creation! And they're doing quite well; I'm proud of them. My, what's this little dealie you're working on? Some sort of predator?"

... We're just trying to get them to breed faster, grow up faster and live longer.  Compare that to the other gods and we're a pretty nice guy.
we can probably do these things without messing with their very being, either through an aura, or a blessing, or something along those lines.
Those are more expensive and less permanent.

and except for the growing up faster. they seem pretty okay to me.
my aversion to growing up faster. is that because it implies altering children you can't get true consent.
Okay then.

Quote
while you may want the genetic modifications to be rather benign, others might want to go for chaotic warbeasts. and to be honest thats what I was picturing.
Then okay the ones you're okay with and not the ones you're not.

If we place a soul from our afterlife into a plant person and that plant reproduces, will it's offspring have souls?
interesting question. Doing experiments on the nature of these things makes me somewhat uncomfortable. Perhaps trying to unlock the mysteries of the soul is somehow heretical to me. (note, I am an atheist, and don't believe in the existence of souls IRL)
I'm also an agnostic who doesn't believe in souls. I don't see anything wrong with trying to understand something so important in the game world, though.
G'night.

Guys.... I'm intimidating them, if we all act  friendly, they feel more in control
But if one of us is scary and intimidating, it adds power to our side, because they know who they are dealing with
Meh, I'm just glad not all of us are acting like jerks.

Anyways...It's been suggested that our Alcatraz be flying in the sky; floating in some void; in the center of the planet; in space; or underground. I'd suggest sky, for ease of access. Have it float over the deepest, most remote oceans most of the time, and soar over to the place we're holding the crook when we need to. (It's a lot more accessible than the planetary core or space.) If not, it should be underground, for ease of construction, and ideally surrounded by hostile terrain.
Design? I like the idea of everyone making barriers and combining spheres, but I was looking more for the form.
Golems or a new race loyal to the Synod sound neat. I vote new race, because it means we can make a race with some of everyone's talents and work included.
I like Divalcatraz, and no one seems to argue...

You know, if you lock me up in Dalcatraz it isn't going to end well. ESPECIALLY if you put it in the sun.
It's not for gods, silly.

"I'm afraid the Empire of Tranquility will cream us if we don't."
"It would improve my worshiper's lives."
These Two sound like valid reasons to me, but the full threat of the Empire hasn't been reveiled to us yet. we have heared about it, but we haven't witnessed or experienced it. when that happens perhaps our responses can become more extreme.
1. It's not extreme to voluntarily alter the offspring of a few women.
2. A handful of Justicars nearly defeated our best warriors. Those Justicars were sent to retrieve a few fugitives. Their total forces (admittedly not all Justicars, but still) number in the millions. Oh, and they're done with the last of the old chaos gods, so we and Krait are probably next.
We have about 50 people, plus a few swarms of firejackets, a hundred Stems and change, some Saps, some miscellaneous powerful beasts, and a few allies who aren't much more powerful than us.

Quote
if it would improve the worshipers lives, it really depends on the kinds of modifications, if the followers would like to be changed then thats doable. would they be viewed as freaks by the rest of the world?
Or would they be seen as blessed?

but it all sounds pretty evil to me.

Why?
This is about borrowing a womb for your experiments, or experimenting on a child in the first place.
If the woman is aware of the issues and consents, I fail to see why it's Evil.
If it's nonconsensual...yeah, problem.

Quote
I even suggested extending our worshipers' lives and making them unnaturally healthy.  Sounds like a fair trade to me.
As far as Donut's reasoning;  In my mind he wants to improve the lives of his followers and protect them as much as possible and would see altering them to do so as just a natural means to an end.  He wouldn't see it as evil because change and evolution are just an aspect of normal life and he is a god of life and chaos so speeding that along is just in his nature and not really any different from making people into golems, werewolves or snakepeople like our allied chaos god has.  He wouldn't necessarily want to do it against their will though because even though he feels it's the right thing to do, he doesn't want to push his views on others unless absolutely necessary.
But seriously as many other people have pointed out, a lot of gods have modified followers.
what if we rolled a one? would that possibility be acceptable to us? I personally don't think so.
Given the low probability of such horrible failure, the high rewards of success (and the ego Donut's chaotic personality meshes with his other successes with Life to form) probably make it reasonable to him. And us.

Quote
another thing, changing your followers to your whims (not saying that you're suggesting that) implies that you'd view them as your playthings.
"To your whims"? Oh, sorry to dare want them to live longer and healthier.

Grumamajaskdfalgh created the Orcs, if that idiot can so can we
Who said that?
Maher did.
EDIT: Is it odd that I imagine Maher being Irish?
EDIT 2: GM also said that it is possible to make your own full fledged race.
can you get me a link for edit 2?
the 'race gods' might be special and primordial.
Well, we made Saps, didn't we? It shouldn't be too hard (in principle) to turn humans into soulled Buds, or to give souls in the Afterlife to Stems (making Soul Stems), or something.

Sentience, free will, a soul
Correct on all counts, except that Free Will affects worship proportionally. Little bit of Free Will = 1/4 Mana from that soul. No Free Will of course means zero mana.

And before someone asks, it's not possible to go over 100% Free Will  :D
Here you go
alright, thanks. I think our interpretations differ. From this (I went back and looked if there was more context) I don't really read that its possible for us to make a full fledged race.
if anything its a maybe.
I really can't imagine us being able to create a soul though. but to be fair I don't recall it being said that we couldn't create a soul either.
I'd imagine that, while it's not easy, it's possible. Races exist; surely they came from somewhere?

"I see. Well, I understand your concerns. I promise to be a more benevolent deity that Jebyg or the other dark gods have been. And as a sign of my hope that you will be forgiving, and not attribute to all Powers the actions and attributes of all...

Give the Orb of Faith to the spokesman.

The Giant stares at you. He is massive - hundreds of times smaller than the dwarves...
Very big.

"How sad...

-----

Neyravah returns to the forest. The dwarves of the coast were as they had always been; the dwarves of the savanna had another watching them as they hunted the mighty whipdrakes. Hence, those dwarves of the forest Heyravah had tried so hard to keep alive were going to be his greatest priority.

First, he needed energy. Neyravah taught them methods which would end the suffering of the senile, the crippled, and the otherwise infirm who could no longer help; this was painless and doubled as blood sacrifice. This would give Neyravah more energy.
Then, he showed them ways to turn the bodies of the dead beasts into potent weaponry. Kill a Clawdrake, its teeth and claws make good knives and spears. Kill a Whipdrake, its hide becomes potent armor. Stuff like that.
Then, he encourage the growth of vines and other fruit-bearing plants near the village.

(Most of this is mostly minor, cosmetic stuff. Neyravah won't spend any Acts on these--he shows up in his physical form and transplants fruit vines and stuff if he has to.)
Finally, he asked the dwarves: What do you desire, to be secure and happy?

Also, during the time when Neyravah rested, he flew over the world, visiting other gods' lands to greet the gods and see how and what they were doing.

Alcatraz is a-go!

Let's start planning. I'm going to start with suggestions for:
1. Location
2. Design
3. Staffing
4. Name
Ideally, everyone would pitch in.
