So only the other two.
Or tone down on their power. Or only make one. Or skip it for now.

And yeah, once we're not under attack let's make a church.

Do the Eladrin count as Angels? I've been wondering that...
Nah, they're just another race. If they were angels they'd be expensive as hell and GWG would've been asleep.
Probably for the best.

No, they look like angels but are no where near the same power levels. My imps could take them.
mine as well.... But mine would probably turn them into Eladrin Carriers
Wouldn't that be !!Fun!!
You know what would be even more !!FUN!!? My response to that...

Imagine centaur knights. You can't knock them off their horse...
Yes, but you kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
Assuming you have a catapult.
Well before you killed the horse but the rider stayed alive, you stab that horse bit though and that centaur's ass is grass.
but horses are stupid, but man is smart
The centaur has enough willpower to stay in a fight even if injured
The horse half is still full of organs. Although, a knight whose horse was killed didn't have a much higher chance of long-term survival...

Since the update is up...

I wonder how far in Role is on the turn

So GWG, do you prefer the number 6 or 7??
Why?
was bored and waiting for an update, which do you prefer?
6, it divides better.

Emphasize these similarities as I finish converting this village. Around noon, request the power to perform miracles to prove the God's power and the knowledge to know where such a miracle would do the most good. Perform said miracle.

"Thank you for your assistance, and yes, I am. I have a wife, Luch, and young girl named Zinna. May I ask why you asked?"

Or, every player could just join together to form a massive alliance that steamrolls everyone else.
Unlikely, considering that even if everyone joined in, you'd still be outnumbered 2 to 1 not counting Orbital defenses.
3:2; better odds, but not much.

set up a business.
[1] You get swindled out of all of your money, most of your clothes, and a couple organs. [1] Oh, and some random guy rips your arm off. [1] Man, the dice just hate you today, don't they? You teleport into the Indian Ocean.

Steal souls.
[3] You sneak into a shoe store and start stealing soles! Ha ha ha! ...Wait. [4] You teleport to some other city.

Become successful bagpipe player, play on streets to attain cash.
[5] Despite lacking limbs, you learn how to play the bagpipes. You can't play them well, but who can tell the difference? Ha! Sadly, you teleport to [2] some deserty place.

Summon Dovahkiin and the Blades.
[4] Um...Scottish folklore or what? No matter; they're left behind as you teleport into [6] a governmental building.

Take a random player with me to the highlands.
[2;1] You take someone's  arm and drag them to the highlands. You don't realize your mistake until you turn around and notice the arm is all you got. You and your arm teleport to [5] a visitor's center for somewhere else.

Learn to fly
[3] You apply for pilot's lessons. You can't take them, as you're teleported to [6] the inside of a diamond mine, right above a shaft. Respawn?

Attempt to convert people to the Cult of the Blessed Beard
[5] The Cult grows...then you are teleported to [1] the Atlantic ocean.

Change location to South Africa.
[5] Everyone is in South Africa.

Resume digging, bring up any metals found.
[2] You try, but end up teleporting to South Africa. [5] Into a diamond mine! A convenient corpse cushions your short fall.

Rebuild player quarters.
[6] Same design as last time. Respawn?

Spawn as a giant tiger. Get a job giving rides to disabled orphans.
[5] You do so, in South Africa. You're a folk hero now.

"Are you kidding? The deepest thing in the movie was the--you're right, Bliz, that's impolite. The whole thing was a mess of cliches and stereotypes! And explosions! Oh, the explosions..."

DF Suggestions / Re: Alkali Metals
« on: January 06, 2013, 12:32:50 pm »
What does any of this 15-century technology nonsense have to do with alkali metals, and why does it matter?
Toady says that technology in DF will never exceed what there was in the 1400's, or maybe 1400, or maybe 1400's Europe.
Alkali metals weren't extracted until the 18th century or so.
Therefore dwarves cannot extract alkali metals.
This is also why they cannot refine bismuth (first described 1546, in Germany) or nickel (first isolated and identified 1751, also in Germany). They are also incapable of making nickel silver, which was developed in China and was only replicated in Europe in the 1770s. What's more, platinum is completely inaccessible to the dwarves, as platinum was only brought to Europe from South America in the year 1557, and even if they were to acquire some platinum, it would be completely impossible to refine it into bars, as its melting point is very high and it was only first worked through a three-step process involving aqua regia, ammonium chloride and burning the resulting ammonium chloroplatinate. All of these described technologies are totally inaccessible to the dwarves as a result of the strictly enforced tech level.
I agree, those should be removed too. In fact, I argued pretty vocally about aluminum and platinum in particular a while back. Want a link?

Interesting, yes.
And it would also mean that we wouldn't need multi-tile creatures anymore, since we can just scale dragons to their true size.
I don't follow.

Quote
But the rewrites...
Dwarf Fortress' entire everything is designed around the idea that everything takes up the same amount of space.
Wagons, workshops, buildings in general, terrain features, and next update, trees. Oh, and Toady's said he's planning multi-tile creatures.

Haunting Vultures attack! [3+1] Everyone not on Knight Tiger's side loses an appendage of their choice.
