I can't treat myself? dosen't everyone have a medkit/bandages or w.e?

Yeah, it's a totally arbitrary rule, but you can't heal yourself. This to force you to cooperate in some ways with others.

GWG, you don't seem to have an avatar at the moment.
How about now?
If I could figure out which ones were missing, I'd remove them from rotation.

3)I'm pretty sure that the return trip won't count, so we can come back after we deal with Cain. Hopefully, at least.
I don't think travelling to the DL3 checkpoint will decrease the usage, so I think it will be okay to teleport there.
The more people bet on this being the case, the less likely it will be. Finagle's Law applies quite heavily in ffs games.

Edit: Also, Goombess will be sad to be left behind. As in, possibly goodbye-level sad. Leaving Slog behind will hopefully help with that, though.
As much as I fear we'll discover they've abandoned us when we return...+1
Hell, +1 to Cain and -1 to anything involving the DL3 checkpoint.

Also if somebody dies, the emotinoal damage would probably charge the soul charge enough to revive them. Possibly. Until we're all jaded and shit.
+1 to the +1 and +1 to the -1. (In other words, +1 to everything.)

*bump*
Ok guys, we're getting a bit behind schedule! We need to hurry up, chop chop!

This space program isn't going to run with a punch of people loitering around and looking interested we need PROGRESS PEOPLE.
I have some progress right here. Multiple orbits and a few failed moon landings.

Bethany begins to start sqeeing as Keith gets on one knee.
<OMGOMGOMGOMG! Everyone get to like, the kitchen. Now!>
Angel does. Will does not.

[To: Luna] <...there haven't been any other dragons harassing the area for starters...>
Suddenly another dragon attacks!

"Absolutely not ICARUS, you may not be what they planned you to be, but that is what happens when something is genuinely sentient.  It is wrong to accuse you of malfunctioning when you are in a situation that is unusual."
<Daisy...daisy...>
((Probably the most recognizable line of that character.))

Wait, why hasn't anyone mentioned Sen's Magic books to Lunette? That would bring all kinds of shenanigans.
That would bring all kinds of shenanigans.

((Well, the way it works here is, it would still raise her temperature, but MIND would simply be to not get some form of damage, because she can resist heat, but it's still there. I'm just using realistic effects.))
Makes sense. No matter what our willpower, having the air heated around you (or in you) is going to give you a bad time.
Yeah except previous precedent indicates that it still protects. Otherwise, Kyle could have previously exploded people's lungs with air magic seeing as willpwoer shouldn't be able to stop that either.
There is a distinction in 3.5 D&D for spell resistance and such. Basically, a spell can affect the area around such a warded creature without needing to overcome spell resistance, but anything in the creature's direct possession (ie, weapons in hand, armor on body, air in lungs) would not be. If there was a Heat Air spell (there isn't), it would trigger spell resistance only if you heated a bottle of air the spell-resisting creature was holding (why would you do that?), but not if you heated the air around the creature.
In essence, I'm saying you have a faulty analogy.

Oh, by the way? Huge magical lizard clusterfuck is not helping magic's reputation.
It's almost as if the guy who tried to focus more on that stuff, even mentioning the kinds of legislation some areas had on magic, is running the dragon plot...

((What I meant is that Lyle wants to do the frickle frackle.
With Mallory.))
WE GET IT.

[To: Luna] <Making the wound didn't trigger her issue?>

((It's kind of hard to resist the heating of air that you don't personally control...))
((Yeah, it doesn't make much sense, but when @Scapheap ran this, he applied it to prevent Kyle from using air magic to rupture people's lungs even though they couldn't control the air in their lungs either.))
That is different than controling the air around ICARUS.

((of course, but not being very proficent at human behaviour, she usualy assumes that being angry does not justify murder attempts :P))
Clearly we need to communicate to ICARUS the behavioral types of people outside the group.
Or at least Kyle's bad days.

If Kyle wanted a polite servant bot, he should have gone by customizing her voice files, instead of giving her the ability to actually dislike things.
That's what he did.
Remember, Kyle programmed HK, but not ICARUS. (IIRC.)

But other than that...I agree with a brief skimming of your points.

This whole thing reminds me of a movie I've read about. A military robot with a deadly experimental laser gets zapped by lightning and somehow gets a soul. For some reason, possibly related to the fact that in its first days as a sentient being it showed no comprehension of the value or even definition of life, they wanted to shut down the robot before, as Cracked put it, it "disassembled some toddlers".
In short, only IRIS would decide that it was a good idea to put their very first emotion prototype into ICARUS. And no, they didn't base ICARUS's emotions on HK; if they did, ICARUS would act like HK--aka, polite and loyal and such.

Why with atmosphere?

Yeah, if you remember, I already solved the whole "illborn" mystery, they really aren't any different from anybody else, they just lack soul charge.
It's not a classification, it's more like a disease, it can be cured. It's a condition.
And "Willborn" is just a slightly different classification of the "Illborn" condition.
With a different cause. Really, they're like tumors with different causes*.

*No, not all tumors are cancerous.
Well, yeah.
But what would be the likelihood of us possibly being able to cure the Warrens?
Low. Your point?

Smooth.

Goombess will be extremely unhappy if we leave her behind.

Why not throw a curve ball by ditching Goombess and Slog? We get the productivity boost, and we may find Riltia anyway.
+1

Or we can go Complete that damn ruby sidequest face the Floor boss with a full party and don't leave anyone behind just yet?
1. Where the hell do you want to look?
2. I don't think general consensus is towards heading to Cain just yet.

Update most-recent-storage in OP
then
Put away anything in a jar, FIRST SHIFT all soul stars, give Al the Astral Influx for a second to try to SECOND SHIFT it, as an experiment; should this fail, AL should try to THIRD SHIFT it. If either works, unshift the star and give it back, and Al takes the Asynchonity Catalyst. Put the money in storage, give Slog the ice spell, goombess the ring of sexy, Al the bag of slot from Cherish and the hard hat.
Leave cherish at the house to make some cash.
Console Goombess that our emotional attachment to slog doesn't make him better, we just like him better. Only in a positive way, with some sort of gift. Like a puppet turned into a hat.
Warp to DL2.

I support most of the things, but:
-Al stays. He is going to make money, not Cherish.
-We leave every soul star in storage.
-Cherish gets the hard hat and becomes our tank. 7 dr, hell yeah.
Also, Cherish is our healer.

Because you just got shot in the head? Several time?  By a heavy machine gun?
Oh. I missed that.

...

Well then. Um. I'll go with whatever my avatar is now and as Dmitri Razumikhin.

Einsteinian Roulette / Re: Einsteinian Roulette OOC
« on: March 04, 2014, 10:56:06 pm »
It's frankly kinda amazing how bad those rolls were. I mean, in order for you to have one of the shots even miss the target you have to roll lower then 3. For it to even have a chance of hitting you, you need a 1. And for it to actually hit you, another 1 or 2. You have to roll 1-1 or 1-2 otherwise they don't hurt you. And thats like what? A 6% chance at worst? More like 5%?  1/20?  And it happened 3 times! Thats a 1/8000 Chance!
Well, the chance is (1/6)(1/3)=(1/18)=(5.556%), so it's slightly closer to 6% than 5%. Happening three times would be 0.01715%, a bit over one in six thousand (1/5832). So not as bad as you're claiming. Especially since there was more than one artillery piece firing per turn. I think there were...what, three or four? Let's say three, firing twice each. That's six shots. The chance of at least three team hits would be P(3)+P(4)+P(5)+P(6), or more easily 1-[P(0)+P(1)+P(2)]=1-[(5831/5832)^6+6(5832/5832)^5(1/5832)+15(5831/([5832^4])(1/5832)^2]=1-([0.999]+[0.001]+[0])=Okay, where did I screw up the calculations?

<I thought they knew! Um, the...something is here.>

Toss some big chunks of metal, I-beams and stuff, at the sphere. Aim for the big lens and the antenna. Especially the antenna.

((Von Neumann machines with a distributed intelligence and/or hive mind. I call it now.))

<Good.>

Alright then.

I wonder what happens if you use sould charge on an illborn without a soul star to siphon the charge into.

Pedant.
Verily. After all, the presence of the Soul Star kinda changes the whole thing.

SLOOOOOOOG!
AARGHH!

Why does my avatar have a Death Marker? I'm still on my first character.

Toss explosives through the hole, which is obviously big enough for people to aim weapons through. Either to kill guards or to make more holes, ideally both. Or killing guards.

<A-a bit... um... t-t-tonight... o-or tomorrow...?>
<Is that you're available then?>

Y'know, what are the effects of using Soul Charge on an illborn?
-snip-
1. We were spending Soul Charge with a specific intent--ie, bringing Riltia back.
2. She was a Willborn, not an Illborn.

As a prize for completing this theory craft, the Ardent Circuit's secondary form requires 50% less Soul Charge to use.
Whee. Which one was the Arden Circuit?

So far, narrative control has always been decided by the players, though.

Except for Cain, but he's a freak.
Indeed.
