Are you sure you want to smack someone with three more arms than you?
Yes.

The dark mage killed my bat!

Do you dare travel inside?
Yes.

The Dark Mage could have lived there!

Use Hawk Eye to look more closely at the tower.

Steady-R-HAT-1 looks around bewildered.

Mayfair-R-FUN-1 doesn't seem to convince everyone. Two guys shoot. Mayfair takes a Wound and is stunned for a round; a gunfight ensues. Mayfair is hit again, incapacitating him.
That...was not intended. I swear...

Cat-R-URS-1 chats with the PLC clerks. They nod, evidently in a good mood from the slow day, and hand her a form. It's extremely short--only three pages.
"Fill dis out, ma'am."

Fun-R-THN-1 ignores the gunfight as best as she can and approaches a table.
Your higher Chutzpah gives you a good chance of success. So does the fact that you rolled 1 away from a perfect.
"Citzen, I need to read this to do my job and help the Computer but I cannot read the fine print, maybe you can. Doing this will help the computer and make Alpha Complex an even better place to be! Wouldn't that be great!"
One wise citizen asks if Alpha Complex isn't already perfect; Fun starts to respond that the Computer wouldn't order you to do something if it wouldn't make a perfect society better, but gets cut off by cries of "Traitor!" and gunfire. When the figurative smoke clears, the other Troubleshooters help her look over the slip.
"Maybe head to PLC? They're probably pretty empty this time of day," one suggests.

Trig-R-HPY wals over to a group of citizens chatting. "Hello, citizen! The Computer gave--" He is interrupted by laserfire as one was declared a traitor and summarily executed. Heading to the adjacent table, he says "Hello, citizen! The Computer gave me this and told me not figuring out what  these are words here, is treason! so if you would be so kind as to read this for me, the Computer will be happy! if you don't, the Computer will be UNhappy, and unhappiness is treason! So please, read this for me?" The first citizen squints, and says, "I can't read this..." Several others accuse him of treason and shoot. They all miss. A stray laser shot hits Trig, wounding and stunning him. The fight continues, but Trig avoids further injury.

Wow. Normally you aren't supposed to start killing each other until you actually convene.

because magic is nothing but a plot point while gravity is a physical property of the universe we live in?
Magic is a part of the world in that world as much as transistors or bears are in ours.

There are ways to use unpredictable magic badly, but there are good ways as well. And there are ways to make breaking every rule work well, as well.
Again, IMnsHO, you should stick to the rules you write out. Write unpredictability into the rules if you must, but don't then make it predictable.

My order of preference for Alice's gift

1) TLS
2) Gift of Battlelust
3) Gift of the Phoenix

But 2 and 3 are close ( if we knew that Alice will be able to extinguish her wings, phoenix would be cool)
I'd consult with Nocteclaw before giving Alice the Left Stone gift. If she approves, I'd vote for it. If not, Battlelust. I'd like to save the Phoenix gift for a child, so we can have grandchild Phoenices.

Yeah I was in the middle of writing my post when you put yours… sorry.  Anyway immolation gift seems the most powerful to me and that's the one I'd like most to pass onto our child.
I hate when that happens.
I disagree, but let's move on. I don't think anyone wants to pass Immolation on to Alice.

Would battle lust mess with her sense of self control?  Just wondering because of what the name implies.  Anyway I would rather Alice get left stone than mermaid but my first choice is just using it to have a daughter.  We could get the daughter from Alice after converting her I you want to honor her and respect Foghorn or whatever.
No. The description states it just gives her natural armor and martial trances, which are controlled bursts of power and luck.
If we don't give the Left Stone to Alice, and Nocteclaw doesn't dictate to give it to the mermaid, I agree on impregnating Alice with the Left Stone gift ASAP.

In my (not-so-)humble opinion, MAiMA magic is the only kind that SHOULD exist. Even if the only rule is "Magic never acts predictably," that rule should be followed consistently every time magic comes up. No exceptions. Writers don't change how gravity works during the climax just to suit the plot better, do they? Why should magic be different? Why would you do that? Just write the magic to fit the plot and stick with it! Anything else is poor planning and/or bad writing.

Obviously the price would be lower, but the concept would work.
And "remove the incentive for trade in goods made from renweable resources?" Only if everyone could make all the goods they wanted. They can't, they don't have the time or skills, and if renewable==infinite. Neither of those is true. Trees are renewable, but not everyone can make a bed or wants to spend the time, and there won't be enough trees to fulfill an infinite desire for beds, crafts, potash, ash glaze, fuel, etc. The same is true for every other renewable resource.

To summarized: Flags can be in the game, but wouldn't actually help much in battle.

Just done some quick research. According to wikipedia battle standards were mainly used to help organise in bad visibility. If formations are added flags could be used as the centers of formations. While the numbers of dwarves in the game are small, its not like dwarves have any radios or gps, iso if they get separated it doesnt seem that hard to believe a standard may be used to help them locate the rest of the formation. Also, with the introduction of hill dwarves it could mean larger formations are used.
While it's useful with the larger formations, if you have 20 dwarves and they lose sight of one another, either they're the worst navigators ever and need glasses or the fog's so think they're training their Swimming skill.

In ancient rome the loss of one was considered highly dishonorable. I vageuly remember that the revovery of a couple through diplomacy was supposed to be a major propaganda victory.
...Another reason to delay having a standard until you can actually benefit from one.

Gwen will not give birth until she gets a prey, It's pointless to wait. Learn mechanics of the game

We also need to talk with Alice beforehand, so we know what she's willing to do
She told us that she don't want to discuss that, twice Can you stop requesting that?
I don't think she needs prey, just to be around fear.
I mentioned that in my most recent long post.

Yeah Rox might be po'd about us changing Alice but I don't think we should really base our decision on that.  Worse case scenario is that we kill her.  Maybe with our new stealthy consort.
And that would be sad. Bright side, source of fear.

Hold on.

Inferno is the one that lets you meld with fire.

Phoenix gives you resurrection and firey wings. I'd rather have the Phoenix child, which could beget more Phoenix trolls.

And if you're going for Foghorn's approval, go with something like the Left Stone. Unless Nocteclaw doesn't agree with it.

The Paranoia rulebook suggests that if a player deliberates, his/her character does nothing.
I'll be nicer than that, but it's been 4-1/2 hours since my last post, and 14 since the turn...I'll wait half an hour.

Also I think having Alice at the birth of our child will help build relationships between her and Gwendoline and help her re-evaluate her choice when she realises she will have to go through that.
I was actually making a joke about Alice's fear pushing Gwen's baby over the edge.

Gwen will not give birth until she gets a prey, It's pointless to wait. Learn mechanics of the game

The tiger person (Rox) was a woman. This is one of the reasons why I am against converting Alice. She has a lover already and it would be cruel to take them away from each other.
Alice has said we can convert her. Foghorn has said we can convert her.

Fear is what she needs. Remember, she didn't stick around the tree with us because she was afraid the elf would put her into labor.

What is wrong with this woman and why is this always mentioned in such unnoticeable fonts?

But they couldn't mate as they are already the same sex, but they are also different spicies, if they were both night trolls they could live the rest of their lives together and be happy.
More to the point, they'd be more or less like they are now. Just more...nightey.

Rox is a servant of Foghorn, messing with her is a bad idea
Good point. We could still invite Rox over. I'm sure Foghorn would love having a "spy"/"double-agent" in our tower.

Seriously, stop ninja'ing me! That's four times this post!
