...Oh joys, I get to invoke the 30's Time Warp from the Post Modernism ruleset! If moves are not provided in colour, then time can be rewound until we have colour!

As you can clearly see, I have spawned a Memorial to Torture, which of course doubles damage done by evil creatures within 2 spaces.
You are missing the diplomat that was added, so under Article V of the basic rulebook, your action never happened!
Not so, time travel to before diplomat exists==diplomat never exists. A more generalized form is found in Article 3's section on time travel.
AHH! But the first creation of the Diplomat PREDATES the destruction of color! It just wasn't recognized by the board! THEREFORE, the point is invalid.
Then why wasn't the diplomat in any colored turn?

However, the time warp requires every non-holy creature to explode into gibs. As that never happened, the time warp never took place!
It's a time rewind, not a time warp.

Someone that shouldn't need a natural weapon. I mean, if our casters are in melee, we fucked up somewhere.
True enough.

Yeah, the antman should have been dead for a while. Bisectionof the upper body? Instant kill.

Well, we don't need the natual weapon one, since everyone in melee either already has one, or has martial manuvers, thus that one has not as much application for us. Using it to give a whole mob of peasants some pretty deadly weapons is another matter though :P
What am I, chopped liver?

The dragon breathes fire at the antman, also catching the Dragonborn and some militia.

DF Suggestions / Re: The ancient art of Golem making.
« on: December 16, 2012, 06:43:17 pm »
I don't see why it's ridiculous that we could have immortal craftsgolems, but it's your opinion.
Well if they made low quality stuff I don't see any problems. On the other hand I don't see a reason not to use a dwarf who would gain skill and has the potential to make better quality stuff down the road. A golem who can crank out masterwork chairs like lightning, never eat, never sleep, never die of old age, and be generally an economic powerhouse seems a little out of place and would make dwarves obsolete. I just can't imagine such a thing ever being put in a game about beefy dwarves who craft fine goods under a mountain somewhere, that being said I can kinda see a furnace op golem now that you got me thinking. All of this is based on golems being brainless too, probably should have mentioned that first.
Assuming golems have no downsides, of course they'd be superior.
If they learn slower, or need occasional "maintenance" to avoid slowly going put of control, or whatever, they would be competitive with dwarves without obsoleting them.

DF Suggestions / Re: Slab Lists and Ghost involvement.
« on: December 16, 2012, 06:41:02 pm »
I'm not sure about having all that info on all slabs. In real life, tombstones and similar items only have a few lines of text, not quite several.

Being able to have some of that info present is good, however.

DF Suggestions / Re: Fort Standard Bearer, and Dwarven Horns
« on: December 16, 2012, 06:36:34 pm »
While I don't agree with what is posted above, a horn or a drum is a horn or a drum, whether you're with 50, 10 or a thousand people. I'd argue its much less useful in huge numbers as you have to generate much more sound.
You don't really need that much coordination in such small numbers. Maybe it could be useful at the upper end of dwarven battles as they are now, but not before then; therefore, waiting until epic battles are properly in makes sense.

Is that a no to the celebration in the dwarves honor too? Quite keen on new ways to interact with the dwarves, and things to make them stand out or unique. Never found the parties helpful or useful, that addition might change it.
No, not against that. I just don't see the point in addding battle coordination when battles have the total soldiers often not breaking into triple digits. Besides, how would this impact civilian life?

An idea to make standards more useful at lower levels, not to use them in combat, but as a passive morale booster. Each militia squad, or the militia as a whole, has it's own banner, which is displayed somewhere in the fortress (preferably somewhere where the militia members see it frequently), which is updated as the troops win fights in the fort, such as repelling goblin sieges or megabeasts. Seeing it will give them a happy thought and give them slightly more performance in battle.
Once toady gets to actual mobile armies, then they can take the banner with them when they go to war, and we'll get other effects, but this might be a good use for it for things as they are now.
Could work. Fits in with other methods used to improve morale at the moment.
