We don't have godlike charisma, and brainwashing people is -extremely- hard to do. It's also likely to backfire.

When I said "LCS style" early in the thread, I implied "attain loyal subworks to avoid getting our hands dirty". This excludes the videogame element of being the reeincarnation of Che Guevera, Adolf Hitler, Naploeon, And Karl Marx rolled into one in terms of charismatic abiltiy. That just dosen't happen.
You forgot one.
Sorry, I'm just that anal this time of the day.
Wait, what would make us Napoleonic? Height or a lack of Hitler's strategic brilliance? Incidentally, bazinga on the last phrase.

That's more or less what the Hiram-I's I suggested are.

Increase vulcanism to keep black smokers alive and thriving. More.

((We already have plenty of life, what are you doing with the comet?))

Continue ascending, head north.

Say word.

Yup.
Much better.

Kinda wish the Alchemist had some kind of ranged attack...or at least an attack that didn't also hurt the allies nearby....

Make game.
Be at work, because this is my new work.

Why does misko have a copyright or something on gravity?
Also, since I'm at work now, do I win?

In orbit of Earth of course.
and whatever we make spaceships out of right now.
[5] You make a globe by smacking chunks of house and wall against each other, then [4] make a toy spaceship out of some house chunks. Vrrrooooom! Zoom-zoom! You have fun.

Get dressed, and then climb up onto the Dinosaur's back, petting him as I do.
You are already dressed. [6] You jump over your nameless dino and break your left leg doing so.

Shrink Musclemass and put all the dead bodies in the machine
[4] Musclmass shrunk, although you're still clumsy. [1] Zombies created...better make an NPC spoiler. Or something.

Respawn thinking of bolters (the Warmammer 40k kind).
[1] You have a small space marine chapter in your pocket. [4v2] They shoot you in the head with tiny bolters. Respawn?

"That'll do then, Kresth."
Tear bathrobe and underwear, and toss portions into the machine. Press button, and think of a black skirt and shirt.
You strip naked, much to the pleasure of a certain PC who will not be named, and [4] pull out and put on a black skirt and matching shirt.
I wonder who that is...

Anyways, While waiting, sharpen dagger.
[6] Dagger very, very sharp.

Respawn, thinking about John Carpenter's The Thing. That is loyal to me.
[1] Halfway right. Not the second half. Respawn?

GM Turn:
The possessed rifle shoots at Cassandra, [1v3] misfiring.
The name-needing T. rex nuzzles Cassandra.
The Thing [6v3] punches the original Thing, splattering it everywhere and breaking his hand. Xantalos-Thing is still up.
The zombies [4v1] bite at Furtaka and rip off his left arm.
Xantalos-Thing [5v6] attacks The Thing, who dodges into the machine. Xantalos-Thing shuts the compartment, presses a button...[3] and out comes an orange earth elemental!

Gift of Diplomacy: The troll can make him/herself appear to be perfectly normal to any race if s/he so chooses and has a bonus to Communication? Something that makes that person able to interact with normal society despite being a night troll/consort.

Or we could ally the mermaid and, with her help, convince the other merfolk to not kill Foghorn.
Mermaid said that this is impossible. If you hope that our communication skill is that good. Good luck
Well, with out communication skills not ideal, I'd advise more...unsubtle methods of persuasion. Make sure they understand that Foghorn has powerful allies, imply that we're terrified of some of them, use the same logic as we did on our captured mermaid, and flee if it turns bad. What do we have to lose? Worst-case scenario, we timeshift out before they hurt us too much. Maybe listen to ourselves if we send a note to ourselves warning against talking with them and send a note back if it turns nasty...

It might still be a good idea to send Alice to warn him later, though.
Alice have magic mirror to contact with her father any moment she want. And likely she will do no matter if we ask her or not. We may try to force her not too, but that's a way to ruin our friendship
So remind her to contact him.

Eh... not really much of a choice. I'd much rather have foghorn and alice behind me than some random mermaids. Besides, we don't know if we can convince the other merfolk to help us.
I'd rather try for both.

It is, because right now they don't have salvagers or the military to protect them. However, designing a decent atmosphere capable ship would be a good first step.
At no point do we need to worry about what four people can make themselves, however. Which is exactly what I said before...

As for the drones, a salvage drone makes sense. The electromagnets we planned to use for our military drones could double as gatherers, and maybe we could use  some kind of railgunesque system to launch collected scrap to a previously selected position (make sure we don't accidentally bombard a planet). It's basically EM's idea, except with a railgun instead of a laser, and more emphasis on efficiency than speed.
Probably.

We have glass, plastic, and presumably stone...ask what kinds of plastic? Maybe we can make a cheap plastic drone? Hopefully with enough weapons and armor that a swarm of the cheap drones would be able to defeat at least one enemy ship...
You have a variety of plastics, some are pretty hard, but you can't  really substitute alloys with it. Plastics melt way to easily, and you need to operate quite close to a hot F class star.
Good to know.
Plastic drones will be strictly for work in the outer parts of the system.

Oh, and GM? Can we get a list of what we can put on our ships/bots, and how much can be put on?
No lists. Use creativity and common sense
Alright. A list of how big ships of various classes are supposed to be would be nice, though.

How about this for a drone:
Hiram-I Railgun Defensive Drone
Drone-class
Armor: None
Weaponry: Railgun, rapid-fire
Engine: Moderately powerful
Other Systems: Minimal
Description: A cheap drone made for building in bulk and using in swarms. It is mostly made of plastic, ceramics, and other cheap materials; even the ammunition is 15% iron to 85% polymer (made specifically to poke holes in spaceship hulls). Hiram-I's are not impressive one at a time; their railgun fires a measly 150 rounds per minute, and said rounds tend to leave only small holes in armor. However, when a swarm is used, the hundreds of tiny holes can render a smaller ship little more than an airless husk, full of little holes. They are pretty frail and have only crude evasive AI, so a determined attacker could easily destroy them with a few shots, counting the missed ones. With luck, they will be numerous enough when used to avert this risk somewhat...
Suggested Use: Defense of important areas where they can be easily replaced and reloaded. Possibly as an assist with attack, but probably not suitable as a primary attack vessel except in impractical numbers.

Or we could ally the mermaid and, with her help, convince the other merfolk to not kill Foghorn. Worst comes to worst, we don't tell Foghorn that we were working with the merfolk.

Two things to keep in mind.

1. Put four-person team isn't the builders, it's the designers.
2. We have glass, plastic, and presumably stone...ask what kinds of plastic? Maybe we can make a cheap plastic drone? Hopefully with enough weapons and armor that a swarm of the cheap drones would be able to defeat at least one enemy ship...

Isn't that reason to convert Alice? She would be harder to kill and they should be more  reluctant to kill a night troll
On the other hand, they would want to kill US. And it's debatable how much being a night troll really helps in combat. No pain, sure, but that's as much a curse as a boon...
