for me its getting rid of the ASCII that really allows me to play the game.  There is honestly no way i can possibly enjoy this game with ASCII.  I use DT to quickly manage who DOESN't do something more than who does, if that makes any sense.

but in these last few days i have really been enjoying the complexity of the game, but frankly i need a little eye candy.

I have never used DT, and only used graphics of any sort when mods came with them.
I really can't understand anuthing but ASCII.

I really needed DT when I got my first big wave today, I went from 18 to 44 dwarfs....

Is that normal?  I am really catching on and have been experimenting with water flow.  Trade is nice and noble management is easy to understand.  I was getting abused by thrives but the wiki taught me how to deal and I killed my first one before I had to head to work.

I am having lits of Fun but I have yet to see any !fun!

Big migrant waves early/midfort are not uncommon. Set up some 10x10 plump helmet farms and you should be OK.

...I may need to reread everything I've read about asbestos. Bulletproof? Really?

The Marines [5] cobble together a spacecraft from the rubble and remnants of their drop pods. It is pretty powerful and could probably incinerate the whole room if fired.

Futaka strikes the floor. [1] It annihilates itself and some rubble. However, the impact causes a slight explosion of debris. No one is seriously injured, but some rare hurt.

A blue limb stirs underneath the rubble and grabs Doomblade! A blue head with huge teeth follows and bites him!

You enter the pub, considering your purpose. It's a nice philosophical question.

The pub is a fairly small one. A middle-aged, scrawny bartender sits behind the bar, near a computer. He is wearing a stained apron over a nice shirt, both with stains from beverages and food on them. There is a pile of what appear to be copies of a sort of menu on the bar. There are five tables, each with three or four chairs. One man is drinking at the bar, while a young couple and their toddler eat sandwiches at the table furthest from him. You seem to have been wrong--this seems to be as much a restaurant as a pub, give or take.
Now that you think of it, you're kinda hungry. You haven't had dinner yet.

1) One dump stat does not a balanced character make.
2) A dead character is a dead character is a dead character.

1. It does if the rest of the stats are fairly in-line with the rest of them.
2. So don't make mind control permanent.

The furs are a bit flimsy; it's basically an arm strike you're describing.
