Rachel has sufficiently dried her hair and returns to Lily.
"Why'd you even bring us here?"
"Kyle asked me to bring some of you guys here. Should be fun! Better than messing around on Laya."
Kyle starts to lose altitude.

Will wanders into the library.
"Hey, Alice. Hey, Lunette. What's up?"
Lunette looks up from the book she's reading and waves, "We just found this library."
"Neat. Looking for anything in specific?"

Come to think of it, does it even have a name?
I gave it a name back when I was trying to condense everything into one post. By the way, how's that effort going? I haven't been paying much attention to that...
Leo organized it a bit in #53. I think that sort of sub-group breakdown is probably our best hope for maintaining coherence.
...Said 54 posts afterwards.
Promising.

Kyle activates the broadsword and holds it to the dragons throat. You seem to forget it's a laser broadsword and that it is Kyle's only broadsword.
"My. This is interesting."
The laser of the broadsword dims.
"But it happens to be something I am quite good at countering. Please get out of the air before I am forced to tear you limb from limb, ape."

"Through a portal to another world. I am the only dragon of my kind here"
"That is...interesting."

Quote
Thw dragon looks irritated. "This is why humans could only claim the world while we slept; you cannot keep their attention for more than a minute without an imminent threat to life and limb."
Lily and Kayla may reach Kyle.
"Kyle is an idiot Savant"
"More one than the other, it seems."

"And this dragon has lived among humans longer than she has lived among dragons. In fact she spends more time in a human body, together with her human boyfriend than she spends as a dragon. The council has no more authority over her than the chinese government has over you. She has the right of choice. So you should explain what the council wants or step aside."
"And the moon is made of blood."
"Don't be so quick to assume that anything you cannot explain is untrue"[/glow]

"Young one, what the construct claims is absurd in every way. Its logic ignores virtually every facet of draconic law and culture, not to mention being against nature's ways."

Quote
The dragons looks at ICARUS as if it is stupid.
"All kinds of dragons must be at the Council of Wyrms."
"I will come, but I request that my allies accompany my as well"[/glow]
"What allies?"

((IRC may be a good idea, what IRC is this game using?))

Again, my argument is that we need to go up in order to finish business on this level.
Well...you're kinda wrong.

I feel like the possibility of a miniboss/actual boss in the center chamber is pretty high, the Stone Dragon blocks one way to it and our lack of mana blocks the other. Even if we can get past the lack of mana for the other, we're still looking at possibly having a big battle on the other side of the door.
I seem to recall a certain thing called "Universal Plan B" we could always try...or UPC.
(Hint: Universal Plan B is diplomacy. Universal Plan B is running away.)

I still feel the risk/reward evaluation favors a spot of backtracking right now.
In case you haven't gathered, I'd like to explore our other options first.

I think a few of us were paying attention.
...and most of us had forgotten due to long hiatuses and such.

1- Correct me if I'm wrong, but we have no way to heal/recover SP on this floor. We've found one one-use SP fountain so far. So yeah, stepping off the floor for a bit is the fastest way to heal.
Wasn't there a mana fountain by the dragon? And aren't there a number of rooms we have not entered (but potentially could)?

2- I think our only plan for the chasm other than Windirection is "Convince the Passive Party member who has explicitly said he won't do so to go across alone." Well, that and the grappling hook idea which has a nonzero chance of throwing our Soul Star into the abyss.
Not the Soul Star, the Christmas Tree star.

3 is hardly vital, but it does refute the "we're just coming back in 5 minutes" argument. We've got stuff to do and quests to complete. Also, just remembered one, we need to get Al's Soul Star out of Storage for him.
I don't think any of those are terribly pressing. Any reason not to wrap up business on this level before going up?

4 is 1 and bears mentioning twice; Cherish could potentially be one-shot by a melee basic attack, and Goombess isn't much better. Ciro and Cherish both have too little SP to do anything useful with, which is never good for the main caster and the healer.
We're avoiding combat when possible, and aside from the stone dragon there hasn't been much to worry about.

2. We have encountered numerous pylons, and are carrying a Christmas mat. We should be able to fancy a bridge out of it.
Didn't we just try that?
Not very intelligently. I imagine that if we figured out a way to connect the pylons...

Whatever sounds mirrory enough to you.

((Lily doesn't smile or laugh or something? :P))
Running joke. I don't think Lily even noticed.

((also, while it *may* be a bit out of place to bring anyone but stella to the council, I may remind you that it took 3 days for wolfchild to even have a picnic, and that was already severly cut short. I suggest that you and wolfchild meet on irc or skype or wherever and have the actual dialogue part there, and then post the transcript, or that Stella is allowed to bring some "servants" or "secretaries" or *something* that doesn't make the game rely soley on the least active player and excludes everyone else. It might take weeks for any political arguements to happen between Wolfchild and you... :( not very fun, is it?))
Yeah...something needs to be worked out...

Will is...um...

He's able to analyse the handkerchief as another step on the path to understanding the origin of Alice's powers, but I can't figure out how to get him in the right room to do so.

4211
Defensive rivers wherever you want them, and you can wash out enemy fields/foraging forests. I still feel it will be a potent late game power, it's just less useful in the initial landgrab phase when you're more focused on building your infrastructure than dicking with the supply chain of somebody else, since nobody has any real enemies at this phase.
Defensive rivers do a little, I guess, and being able to flood enemy fields slows them some, but compared to powers that help with said landgrab and the like...after all, having a productive edge in the action economy doesn't help much if the other guy has way more raw materials.

I don't think we need it just yet--certainly not if we're just coming back in 5 minutes after recharging HP and MP. And what needs to be checked out?
I'm voting for going to the Checkpoint again.

1- We need to heal, especially if we're going to mess with Cain or a potential miniboss.
2- If we replenish our SP, we can Windirection ourselves over that gap to the Probably Sweet Loot room.
3- We've got a laundry list of things we need to check on elsewhere (Essence and Binding sidequest for Slog, Oric's MEMOR-E cartridges, bloodshaping on a not-antimagic floor, hitting up that sidequest dude in Underside to see if his quests have updated, etc)
4- Did I mention we need to heal?
And yeah, it's not our only way back to this level; there's also the Warp Pad. Sure, we haven't figured it out yet, but we will eventually. If we ignore resources we have because we "might need them later," we'll just end up dying now because we're hurt and defenseless. And remember, we can't actually use the Checkpoint to get back here unless we hit it once.
I hardly think we've run out of options for 1, 2, and 4. #3 is hardly vital.

We haven't figured out the warp pad, so it's essentially useless. Unless you have some grand theory of how to make it work, let's not bank on it.

I'm not saying we shouldn't use the checkpoint ever, I'm saying we shouldn't use it now.

+1 to checkpoint
We need Slog
(we may have to pump Soul Charge into there)
*sigh*

"What, and this was the info you were so reluctant to give us right from the beginning? Are you serious? I suggest the first thing the council votes upon is hiring better messengers. Nearly risking a simple invitation like this to escalate into a fight against the person you wanted to invite out of sheer pride is hardly a satisfying scenario. You could have saved so much time and argueing by simply explaining this immediatly when we asked why she was being summoned, in fact, we shouldn't have asked for that at all. I mean, there is nothing disagreeable here whatsoever."
"Except your lack of knowledge."

"~~Keithie-Pie~~"

4214
In theory. In practice, I'm discovering fewer and fewer uses for its power.

Especially since flooding a city or whatever does nothing to it.
