Roll To Dodge / Re: RTD (Roll to Dwarf): The OOC Thread
« on: November 11, 2012, 09:19:39 pm »
Two people. There is only a one in nine chance of them both failing.

And how do you know demons can't use picks? They saw me use one, TWICE.

Why do I keep getting double-ninja'd?

Actually, the demons can't use the picks. And they'd be too busy ripping the miner apart to flail uselessly against the stone wall.
But what about once I die?

I hope to make one before my inevitable demise.

Out of curiosity, who wants to help make the forges a stronghold?
You're sealed off, in the pipe.
I broke out.

Seriously, if I can break out with my pick, can't the demons WITH ACCESS TO ME AND MY PICK also dig out?

Ninja'd.
Anyhoo, remake the barrier once I'm out.
Double-ninja'd twice?

Depends on the rolls. He tore down the last wall with his pick, lucky us.
SO HE, AND ALL OF HELL, IS OPEN TO TAKE THE FORT?
No, two people will rebuild the wall once I'm through.

NINJA'D AGAIN?

Whoops, missed that. Sorry.
Yeah...how about 18 apiece for a 3-radius bomb? Insane?

If we're getting rid of one of the small craft, why not save money and put the cargo in the docking bay?
Because there are no right conditions for storing the cargo (temperature\atmospheric control)
For example: If we go civilian reactor+battery combo, we need 200 space to store one disassembled reactor and current dock is clearly unsuitable for that
Alright, which craft are we getting rid of and why?

Nope. You need 20 of each resource. You could have 500 of each resource but absolutely no Redium and you would still not win. Although the market would likely accomodate and easy win.
The ISBMN requires four Neblium and less of every other resource. By my calculations, 4*3=12<20. Also, there's Rediumand Mythium, which the ISBMN requires none of.

"who walled me in"

Grab the adamantine and some blocks.
Run to the forges/furnaces.
Call for others as I do.
Barricade myself in. Along with anyone who heeded my call.

Do tell.
In Armok 1 the martial arts, if you were bad at it, would come up with dreadful moves

Basically you can stand on any bodypart and attack with any bodypart.

At least that is what I was told.
...
That.
Is.
Awesome.

Wait, stand on any of your body parts or any of your opponent's?

Unless it came with a chair for an engraver to carve tracks from, and an onboard dwarven water reactor, I don't see a mobile drill like you suggested being plausible.

Let's face it, moving drills sound awesome, but barring magical sources of mechanical power they're not happening. That means this will take long drills to even start to compete with dwarven miners.

And for the record, dwarves dig deep shafts just great if you keep the drop at the end short.

I often have dwarves die of infection and the like, when they don't stupid themselves to death and/or mysteriously drown.

Also, Toady has pretty clearly stated that he's making DF pretty much 100% on his own and by his vision. Occasionally, he accepts some help from fans (melting points of stones, densities of soils, etc), and he listens to the Suggestions subforum, but other than that he's quite a lone wolf.

And look where that's brought him.
