Oy vey, you guys are morons. Okay, lamias aren't big players like you or me, but they're more powerful demons than freaking imps! Those guys are one step above dretches! What's next, summoning the souls of thirteen pedophilic hobos?
So, lamia. They're stronger than imps and clever enough to be more versatile. Of course, imps are better than nothing, but lamias are better than imps.

I really ought to look into some other beings I could work with. I hear efreet don't destroy all they're working for for petty reasons.
Seriously, no Paining our one link with the mortal world. Maybe think about reshaping his mind, but since he was so kind as to let us squat in his soul for a while and use him and, you know, affect the mortal plane, we should try to kinda respect his needs.

I suggest we see if we can sneak into the reptile cages and catch a couple snakes of the same species. Consider using a spell to cover our escape; maybe wait around a while until the plague spell recharges.

I vote: One tattooed arm and one bladey arm, or two tattooed arms if that's not allowed; Springy legs; Camouflaged body; Hypnotic head; Male (for reasons of mathematics and biology); and Skills (from highest to lowest) Earth Manipulation, Stealth, Communication, and Earth Crafting.

Looks like a fun game!

Agreed. Silver deer sound harmless.

Have someone smooth the wall and carve fortifications into it. That way, we know what's on the other side.
Make a new cage, stick the deer in it if it isn't tamed. Have the military bring it leaves for food when they're off-duty, armed mind you.
Ah...keep important industries going, and have the mason make blocks when he has nothing else to do.

knutor, have you tried building walls to form a path to the depot, putting one-tile "holes" in the walls, and putting traps in the holes?
Wait... walls... path... depot... holes... traps... Huh?
Alright. Make a trade depot. Make sure its only exit is through a three-tile path with walls on either side. Deconstruct some walls and put traps where the walls were. Now enemies should path through traps, especially if you put extra traps just on the outside of the "holes." Maybe tie up some kittens or something just inside--restraints don't block wagons.

Of course, the exact level of change would determine how much time you'd need and the situation. Reproductive isolation of a small population on an island? Could be a few tens of thousands of years, give or take maybe an order of magnitude. Major phenotypical changes so a layman would recognize it as a new species? Probably millions of years. It would also depend on the species, come to think of it...
