what do you need?

i give a example:

crystalline: a strange somewhat invulnerable being that sends out crystals of extreme sharpness at the expense of using it own body as ammo: if it sends out too much then it will go into a  staisis that will make it regrow it self: it can eat biological and non biological matter to speed it up: the more energy it has the faster it will speed up.

I don't like the idea of modded races. If we do modded races, then we start to mod other things. I think we shouldn't mod anything, and play with aquifers on. It's already a challenge, why not make it a fun one?

Okay then, are you alright with people being able to add [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] to the elves, humans, goblins, etc.?
And making them playable straight like that? sure. I just don't want to end up with some people modding the game to make it easier.
How about modding the game to let you play elves or goblins? Between lacking various industries they'll need and the entities not having certain vital nobles...

I stole a few heroes from a superhero role play I ran, and as for the others...mostly, I used a random superhero generator and tossed out the stupid bits (vulnerable to kevlar-based attacks?)

Also, here is another idea.
The ballistae is far more effective then the catapult. So lets give the catapult it's historical use by allowing the player to fire creatures from it! What can be more funny then fireing a caught goblin form a catapult?! Or fireing rotting carcases and corpses of the assailants at their retreating comrades, making all of them vomit cause of the gore? This must be in!

Then again dwarf fortress is not a game where you invest X resources to get Y superweapon, but a game where you get many small parts, and are allowed to construct a doomsday weapon of your own design.

Hence why I propose to allow siege weapons to be moddable, maybe attachable to switches and power, and that there should be an ammo select button for catapults. With these you can make a rapid fire ballista with some clever stacking. Or you can mod it in yourself.
I quite agree. Ballista bolts are moddable, why not ballistae?

Well, Komodo dragons aren't the only critters that have deadly bacteria in their saliva. They're just the only ones to use it.

We should really stop creating a backlog and really start deciding how not to starve to death and/or do anything without having to spend every second turn foraging for food.
Sounds like a plan!

The repeating ballista that I read about was precise, which was a major issue.

Regardless, it seems stupid to me to say "You need to spend way more resources and space on this 'cuz it does special stuff." That's not how DF rolls.

Alright, from now on you only control the main villain. You can roleplay as your minion, but try to listen to orders.
