Put it in a mimecart, shotgun it at goblins. That's about it.

Liquid critters are fragile. I like to think that as the dwarf attacks, it casually asks how the beast stays together...

Anyways, this ain't the half of it.

DF Modding / Re: The Necrowerepire

I read the title and thought it read "The Necroempire." We must make this.
I assume it would just be lots and lots of volcanoes.
I was thinking of an entity of necromancers...but an entity that solves everything with magma could be awesome, too.

Bodies reanimate even in coffins in a land cursed region. Dorf souls will also be pissed that their buried body had revived and is now stumbling about and will haunt the fort.

In short, coffins are useless. Just smash the corpses apart with a bridge and use a slab.
Ah, what a pity. I hate how a slab with two lines of text takes months to engrave, while a masterful engraving of a dozen dwarves takes a couple of seconds for an experienced engraver.
Mostly due to lack of coordination amongst dwarves. And the slab requires dwarves to write really small.

While we're talking evil biome auto-reanimation, does the curse affect the whole map chunk, down to the bottom? Does it affect caverns or, Armok forbid it, HFS?
Yup.

Alright, the save got corrupted so I'll be starting over. If this fails j suppose I'll pass it to the next player.

Tough decision. Rogue, or Multitalent?
Well, if the abbreviations of the statistics were anything to go by, you're not too unagile, fairly weak and nonmagical, but really tough. The stats were probably generated on a 1-20 scale, so 17's a good Toughness. If race affects more than stats, you're probably pretty small and such, and maybe can see in the dark.

It would be nice if this thing had more buttons and information.

((C'mon, guys...Voting narrowed down to two options. Make a pick.))

GreatWyrm, the higher Xantalos's roll the more power he wastes. I'm sabotaging him by aiding him.

He'd need at least a +30 to even put a dent in the universe. Maybe destroy a planet with my aid.

-edit-

Hopefully that planet is Misko's.
You never know.
Anyways, I forbid you to aid Xantalos without express permission!
He has my permission.
You're not Corai's boss.

Well, I suppose that the "canon" Dwarvish stand on such matters as working POWs depends on the raws' definition of slavery. Work without pay, or selling sentients?

Take some time to plan long-term.

Look at the offices which will be elected in 2014. Figure out which ones we have a good shot at winning. Figure out which ones sound like a good way to launch our career and figure out what we need.
Watch the Saturday ninja class.
Keep in touch with Clara and the others. If they're planning anything that doesn't conflict with other plans, or if it sounds important enough to skip the ninja class, go with.

Points systems sound good on paper, but are ultimately harder to balance since there are vastly many more possible army builds. If, for example, you get 40 points, you have to somehow balance 2 dragons vs. 4 trolls vs. 5 knights vs. 8 warriors vs, 40 peasants vs. 20 goblins vs. 1 dragon, 1 troll, 1 knight and a goblin vs. 3 peasants, a goblin, 2 trolls and 3 warriors, etc. etc. It's a nightmare.
Since the units system has varying costs, doesn't that already need to happen? Come to think of it, doesn't that need to happen due to multiple unit types?
It wouldn't be any different, it would just let Nerjin adjust unit costs more finely. "Hm, with the new spell rules everyone's stocking up on mages...I'll raise their cost 20%, should work." On the other hand, about all the unit-based system let's you do is nerf the mage or buff it significantly until it's worth two. More options=good.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: World Gen Question re: Shallow Metals
« on: October 30, 2012, 09:45:12 pm »
Not sure if it's relevant, but another thread mentions that the OP is having trouble finding anything other than gold, silver, lead and... copper? And another poster mentioned that the four metals listed show up in igneous extrusive layers, which are formed in high-volcanism areas. So evidence exists of indirect effects on metal availability.
DF has pretty realistic geology. Try sedimentary layers, they're great.
