"Well, thiss iss not what I wanted."

Get back to the tavern, use pool of poison behind me as I flee in order to dissuade pursuit.

((Fuck me, I get double ones on the first turn, that's a pretty terrible sign))
The nag a rolled snake eyes?

"I'm interested in peace, too. See, I came into this trying to kill the lichette, then an evil incarnation of magic, but then I realized the truth about who I was working for. Somehow he stopped being a cool god of Rock, Roll, and Fire and became, I dunno, Khorne but less violent. He's trying to be more violent, though.
"Anyways, then I tried to execute a brilliant plan: The lichette and her lover would be married and forever united in the afterlife, where they could build a nice afterhome, have an afterfamily, put up an afterwhite picket afterfence, etc. That didn't work because the lichette didn't die--she killed my choir!
"Then I went rogue for a little while, mostly trying not to be killed. I joined the side of my old god, misko, before getting kicked off due to a MechaHitler I made getting sabotaged. I rejoined and tried to be misko's voice of reason, slowly making misko's dream empire a decent place to live and potentially eternal rather than a transitory hellhole. I mostly got yelled at, threatened, and split up his side. Well, I guess it's better than nothing.
"My one constant foe has been Xantalos, what with wanting to destroy the universe and all. He can't, but you probably can. Thankfully, I can reason with you.
"So, Tim, can we come to an arrangement where I can help you not need to destroy the universe?"

Yeah no Ftl possible in the setting but I'm trying to keep this prefusion for now, though if anyone does energy that is probably one of the best choices. Energy pretty much currently is thorium reactor based.

GWG the solar system explored part, but it is not to much of an issue.
Ah. Mentioning space travel as a specialty of a megacorp made me think that the solar system was colonized. At least some.

Say, SoHowAreYou, how do you feel about the "genetic" telekinesis idea?

This is basically my thoughts about what I think of the fortress.

The first thing I notice is crazed traders of multiple races, followed by a tantruming swordsdwarf who has two daughters but no husband. This...is not a good sign. Maybe I should have read between the lines better. Or read the lines better.
We seem to be being attacked by Shedim, who are thankfully all caged or dead, in addition to the insane merchants, who are thankfully not joined by their guards.
The map is absurdly shallow and has hit neither caverns nor magma, nor SMR. I hope to find magma.
Why are there beds in this room with no purpose? It's now a dorm/barracks. Oh, we have a barracks? Just a dorm, then.
What is this thing with the grates and the channelling and the rope?
Can we get a carbuncle's gem?
What are those trenches for? I will flood them somehow.
Why aren't we cutting wood of gathering plants, and why are the cage traps being destroyed? Oh yeah, that's why the merchants went cuckoo.
Clay and sand, yet no magma? Shame.
I think I'm ready to unpause. Where's GreatWyrm? Ah, asleep. Heh, his description is hilarious. Why do cave oysters fly? And how?

Journal of GreatWyrmSteel, Miner and Overseer.
I spent my first hours in office asleep. I suppose I should keep a journal, so I know who to blame when things go wrong.
I start by remanaging things I see which are being managed wrongly. For instance, a kiln is being made. This will let us collect an endless resource and, once we find the blood of the earth, make limitless goods from it!
Trading commences. An exceptional electrum goblet buys us several berries, a couple metal ingots, a couple weapons, and a kestrel. The traders are pleased.

I'd do more, but computer issues and needing to read up on this "Spider Control Module" prevent me...

Hmm... Great Wrym Gold your application is going to require, a slight change of settings on my part, however I would rather you be happy with this game then to have to redo your form, and as long as no one goes further than yours went in terms of tech we should be good.
Which part? I was trying to avoid that issue...

wer6: pretty good, though one has to question the wisdom of creating super humans to serve you, many possible things that can go wrong, though this is Bay12 and I am sure you will purposefully cause the mutant revolution, and find a way to profit from it.
He wants elves.
Telekinetic elves...GENETICS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY! GOOD NIGHT!

Ahem.

Just replace the creature the werebeast turns into with the animalman of your choice.

I read the title and thought it read "The Necroempire." We must make this.

Giving them better equipment etc shouldn't matter a huge ton. Elves, for example, manage just fine being super wimps with wooden armour, due to their niche embark locale and high population due to immortality.
And high agility.

Did I miss something or do they not farm?

The unzipping issues have been solved. The remaining issues have been technical (my laptop's been acting up) and temporal (I was busy today). I should have enough for an update tonight...

Stone Trade and Tech (ST&T)
Specialty: Mainly trade, but some R&D projects which usually go nowhere profitable
Description: The Stones have been in space for generations. ST&T's founders, Castor and Pollux, were clever boys who began by bringing pets and luxuries to the old Solar Belt Miners. Eventually, they broadened their horizons to the point that they had their own ship (including space for themselves, their Chief Advisor/grandmother, and two others), then some separate ships hauling sausages and sweets to the Belt for ore, then eventually a big corporation. Once the twins got enough money, they hired various trained scientists to help them with various scientific projects of varying value.
Over the generations, not much changed. The two co-CEOs of ST&T, Lazuli and Torisen Stone, are descended from Castor and Pollux; the company still derives most of its funds from trade; and remains the leader in unprofitable research while still churning out occasional gems.
Goals: Not much. As long as humanity thrives, the money keeps trickling in, and science gets done, they don't mind. Usually. Lazuli, descended from Castor, is a woman in her early 20s just got the position from her mother and is interested in increasing the scope of ST&T's ventures. Torisen, Pollux's descendant, a veteran of the Mobile Infantry in his 70s and missing an arm, is more benevolently minded. After all, they already have a near-monopoly on large-scale stellar trade; why do they need to do more? Heck, old Jeremiah Stone secured all but legal acceptance and recognition of the monopoly! This leads to plenty of internal politics.

This has potential. I always think that it's not the game, but the game master, that determines if a game is good or bad.

Return to city.
Look for villains to defeat.

No way this could end badly!

Perhaps it's time to make a little side project for everyone, then. To all members of the Space Program:

Think of possible ways to increase efficiency in your respective areas of work; how to obtain/accomplish the most with the least amount of resources. Cut out all but the most fundamental projects for now, and find out roughly how much it would take to get those alone off the ground.
My project is delayed indefinitely. Genetic engineering is cool and fun, but it can wait.
