Rock pots and lead bins for everyone!
My dwarves wanted me to tell you how much they hate you.

I've been spoiling them with featherwood bins and barrels.
Featherwood?  Are your dwarves pansy elves who can't stand to lift a bit of weight?  Featherwood's only good for sleeping on!   :P

Haha but seriously, since I usually embark on tree-less biomes, I've gotten into the habit of treating wood more stingily than freaking platinum.  Bins get to be made out of whatever useless metal is lying aorund,a nd since galena is often plentiful, it's often lead.   :D
Lead has the additional benefit of not scattering so much when you reclaim.

I think that would require some kind of airship machinery, but a Castle in the Sky supported by only a few thin pillars would be cool.  We can call the city "Zalem" and throw our trash and empty bottles on siegers.
And rat corpses. And kittens.

We should include farms and clay up there.

It does make sense. Dwarves don't get a promise of a bed unless they're nobles, but nobles can punish people for selling gems. And no one cares. Social status is important.

Have someone make ten units of bedding.
Mine the coal! Take torches, if needed. (Can't wait to see what this does...)
Make five more beds.
Have the smith refine coal.
