Kyle walks up behind Icarus.
"Never mind Icarus dear. Come right on in."
"It's alright."

"You wouldn't happen to know anything about the sudden rise in worldwide draconic activities?"
"We're all waking up."

((OOC I'm naturally a bit concerned seeing as how I just spread that crystal over a large area. But I thought I exploded it once and then crushed it again? I was under the impression that its mostly dust with the pieces that flew everywhere being the the size of pebbles or smaller. I didn't think the crystal was overhuge from the vague impression I got of it, especially since it didn't take me very long to gather up the shards leftover from the initial attempt on my own, with my bare hands and in a single turn..
You did. You just didn't do that to all the crystal.

Quote
Can you stop the crystals from growing by breaking them up? If not then that would suck, because then they'd be entirely unstoppable considering it'd be really hard to make them any smaller than dust particles..))
You'd have to examine them to be sure...
But, just between GM and players, yes that works. I'm not evil.

Ask around for the captain. Totally blew that crystal up. Pretty nice work eh? Flex in an attempt to seduce impress him with my Austrian muscles.
Which captain?

((Why do I get two -1 penalties?))
One is for the curse, one is because making life is a bit harder than making a glob of oil.

"I dunno, doc. I'd rather not risk messing with magic too much in here. Things been goin' wrong in all kinds of ways in the past few hours."
"If you don't wanna mess with magic, why'd you make that?"
And you're pretty much fixed.

4428
If it's going to act magical, call it magic!

And in other news, yay. I avoided having to figure out a whole personality too fast due to impulse control stuff.

4429
"There is indeed, though in recent events where dragons proceeded to run amok all over the world, you will excuse me if I am vary of new draconic arrivals."
"Oh."

4430
"This is private property. please identify yourself and state your reason for your visit."
"Neat. Anyways, um, I'm Emelth, and I'm just looking for a place to live. Is there a dragon already living here?"

4431
Maybe it literally uses steam as propellant?
The longer barrel might allow the pressure to push the bullet for a longer distance and increase its velocity.
Just a thought.
On the other hand, steam sucks as a propellant.

it's a steampunk revolver, ain't got to explain shit.
Precisely! It's not any old regular revolver. That would just be boring.

Also, GWG, her name isn't Jaque and it twas purely a term she threw out seeing as she was panicking.
Dunno why I called her that.
Remarkable which one she chose...

"Say, doc, what do y'think? There's all these fools running around making noise, crystals and dangerous crap. Y'think the two of us can kill 'em all and restore the peace? I think that posh guy who got us here'd like that."
Ask. Get treated.
Also, try to summon an oil elemental under my control. Outside, preferably.

"I dunno, kid."
Yay, treatment.
Power: [2+1+0.4-1=2]
Control: [4-1+1-1=3]
You create a little blob of oil. It seems to be interested in sticking near you.
"Hey, get that thing out of here. No way it's sanitary."

Create two swords and fight the bear
Power: [6-0.2-0.4=5]
Control: [4+0.2-0.5=3]
You summon a couple of swords; not really ideal ones, but they're sharp enough and made of metal and stuff.
[4+0.4-0.1-1=4/2+0.4-0.1-1=1]v[6]
One sword misses, the other cuts your leg. The bear's dodging the first drives the spear deeper into its chest, which...the bear doesn't look happy about it.

Dust hands.
That'll do it!
Scootch off into a nearby medical tent and pray no one saw that happen while convincing a doc to treat my wound(s).
You know you didn't destroy all the crystal, right?
You head to a medic, then go to a different one since the first has a blob of slime slithering about in it. You begin getting treated.

Action change.
Go off and find the woman who's supposed to be our mentor.

You head back to the town. Parts of the crystal covering everything have been broken or chipped, but it seems something exploded, hurting a bunch of people.

There is a humanoid creature, covered in silvery scales, with a draconic head.
"Um, hello."

4434
Legal, yes, ethical, well, they're all smiles if you're not getting actively punished. Also their therapist wasn't there.
Was he there when they implemented those procedures?

...her revolver, which has quite a long barrel.
I seem to recall reading that a long barrel on a revolver would greatly reduce its muzzle velocity...

"You fuckin' numpty!"
Doesn't that imply a certain amount of endearment or amusement?
Does Jaque already have a crush on someone?

4435
((More like a gentle swish.))
"I get a better view from up there.
Would you prefer if I used your shoulder instead?"
"The windowsill works, too."

The mumbling is incoherent.
Will borrows Kyle's audiovisual feed.
Is it more coherent for Will?

ICARUS wakes up...or rather, stops pretending she was asleep. She goes to check out Annabelle.
"Another guest? And here I thought this location was remote..."
"I'm working on a theory that concentrations of magical energy draw magical beings to a location."

There is, incidentally, a knock on the door.

((The timing is perfect, but I haven't quite figured out the "why this person showed up" thing yet, so bear with me.))

That reminds me, I really need to download the mod that lets Gene soldiers use the regular armor looks. They really should have made the sleeveless look an optional extra for gene soldiers rather than the only option. 12 different pauldrons and kneepads is not a decent substitute!
Yeah, that was something of a letdown. Titan armor on genemodders looks ridiculous. Archangel armor, on the other hand, is kinda neat.
The demonstration for the titan armour thing they show more made me laugh the first time they did it - my soldier wasn't wearing a helmet so they blasted him in the face with a flamethrower and all it did was ruffle his hair.
That soldier's a keeper.

Jeb can take science out of pods and instruments. At the very least get the instrument data into the pod.
If Jeb could get into the pod, our problems would be much fewer.

Which direction do I burn. Wiki research suggests that the lavender ones are prograde and retrograde for the targeted thing's orbit, but why would you need that?
Wait. Which markers are we talking about? Are these the markers that show up immediately when you open the maneuver node, or are they they markers that show up on the orbital paths, after you have adjusted the maneuver? Because I think that might be a problem: the same word is being used in different places to mean different things, which actually seem very similar if you are just trying to describe them with words.  I can't right now, but tomorrow I'll try to put a screenshot up of what I'm talking about with the markers.
I was talking about the navball markers.

Am I correct that building a city to start will raise my base population to 2 (giving me 2 actions next turn?)
...Huh.

RE: Oceans and pop cap, I imagine staking a claim to an Ocean tile involves sending out many patrol ships to combat the horrible monsters living there, making it safe to traverse (since really, why would you claim Ocean if there's an easier way to the land on the other side?) That's why it's such a population sink to claim in the first place, unless you're Merfolk, and if you're Merfolk then you are perfectly justified in having underwater villages/cities.
So, are you suggesting that oceans only give popcap to merfolk?

Quote
As far as Aquatic Channel being underpowered, GWG, as far as I can see there's nothing in the action description saying you have to be adjacent to the border you want to channel; it's already a potent offensive power that reaches across the map. This also suggests that the non-Aquatic equivalent should specifically require you to be adjacent to the border you want to Canal, making it mostly useful for extending irrigation instead of terrain destro. I'm also assuming that turning a tile with a city on it into a lake would destroy the city unless that's your favored terrain; if that's the case, are Towers immune (since they can be built anywhere?)
...Is that an intended consequence?

Quote
Merfolk don't ignore lake movement penalties, just ocean, so it's not like they can cheaply Deluge their way into the heart of your civ and wreck everything.
Which is odd but understandable.

Build Centennial City on 100. Assuming that won't wipe out the fields, otherwise expand to 101.

N'thara is mysteriously on Will's head.
Not for long!
