Einsteinian Roulette / Re: Einsteinian Roulette OOC

No ones seen that thing since mission 1. At least none of the players have. You could ask the guys in the research labs.
I tried to retroactively do that.

When something is in the process of eating you, I don't think getting it to touch the thing would be such a big problem.
The problem isn't getting it to touch the enemy, it's getting it to the enemy without crippling hallucinations.

Quote
Worst come to worst, use it for a drinking game. Touch the alien thing or drink a shot of HMRC standard. In game terms, it would be Will rolls VS End rolls, with the added bonus that failing End rolls would make failing Will rolls easier.
Eh.

((Wait, the book is made out of clay? I thought it was stone temporarily made as soft as clay!))

"To make matters worse, I was planning on going to the archery range today, but I'm not sure people will like to see me coming, what with the glowing eyes and the general lynching of mages that going around."
"Perhaps we should look into getting some darkened spectacles for you or something, pretend you're blind? That would likely rule out archery as well, but at least you wouldn't be lynched...we might want to get gloves for myself as well..."

"Anyhow, if you have got some kind of silly angel quest, why aren't we already, you know, going in that direction? Is it some kind of 'the time has to be right' nonsense? This town's a bit boring, I find, and likely to soon be on fire and filled with horrible creatures that want to eat our flesh."
"And we know for certain that the wilds are already filled with horrible creatures that want to eat our flesh. And which will likely be on fire once we get involved." Ekoka chuckles. "We can use the chance to rest, study, prepare."

"Hear hear, maybe we could take a boat out of this place?"
"This would be a good idea. But first, we need to finish preparations..."

1. Read the Water Magic book.
2. Attempt to purchase gloves to conceal my hand.

Retconning the Gnoll Patrol. Get to building town. sjm9876 You can handle rolls for people doing mundane things like building houses, making bombs, collecting ingredients, and so forth. I will be back in a week so RP until I get back.
Well that's a pain. On the bright side, the kid's actually getting to toy Carl made.

After that, Carl begins locating a site for his house/workshop, ideally near a decent-sized source of running water and hopefully not far from the middle of town. Once such a site is located, he gets to work.

I came up with them in response to your question and am typing on a phone. That message took 15 minutes. I'll list the ones I think are suitable when I get home tonight. Until then I would like to see what you can come up with. You'll have ideas I won't think of.
I'm unaware of the mechanics of basically everything you guys have...and the lore behind magical stuff is fuzzy to nonexistent. I could probably come up with some ideas, but they might or might not work. Also, most ideas I have tend to be a bit overcomplicated/infrastructure-heavy, so it's a bit late to implement any now.

Oh and we 're right next to the ocean.
I don't think the hexes are that small, Alexandria.

Water ain't much of a problem but you could alter it removing the wave and spreading the water into a big puddle under the enemy like I did when preparing to fight Lucien. Shock the edge of the puddle and everyone in it fries. We stand outside the puddle and are safe.
Water doesn't spread like that, it goes everywhere. It would probably be about as easy to drown the gnolls, or to just knock them off their feet with all that water.

Quote
Another example. Plant a big bomb in a small golem. Prepare the golem so it can move first next turn. Charge in. The enemy will have no idea until the boom allowing you to pick a large cluster and wipe it out in a way they wont expect.
...How is this more effective than a bomb being thrown and then using the golem to do stuff? The bomb would be weakened by breaking the golem, which would incidentally NOT be ignored unless the gnolls are stupid enough to assume that this thing the enemy was tinkering with and sent into their midst is harmless.

Quote
The only limit on these combos is your ability to imagine new combinations.
And to ignore the logical issues behind them. And your knowledge of what the hell anything does and can do.

In response to Culise: The gnoll patrol was not supposed to appear for a while. The screaming Gnoll child forced my hand :/
How the hell did the gnolls get here so fast?

Quote
In response to GWG: The physical resistance is made to slashing damage, which happens to be what everyone attacking uses. Cymea, Carl, practically anyone with a weapon that doubles as blunt can hurt them.
So, you're saying that 8-blades and summons in general are weaker, because the gnolls are resistant to SOME kinds of weapons, which 8-blades and some of the group but not all summons use.

Quote
Or, I don't know, CARL COULD ENCHANT THEM. Still a thing.
In the middle of combat. With no gems on his person.
YES THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE.

Quote
Alexandria didn't exactly get a good roll. Torban was also NOT meant to know about the patrol.
Then why did you tell Alexandria? That was pointless and stupid.

Quote
In response to everything else: This is one of the things the OOC is meant for. Strategy. Why haven't you all been doing that already?
The town Golem would have died a lot quicker...
Because most people like not mixing IC and OOC?

The quality of GMing in this thing, combined with the zero balance and some of the other players...I'm thinking of just quitting this thing and being done with it. Especially since you seem to have been less than honest when you described this game as part-town-building. Technically, we're building a town, but we're close to a hundred pages in and we haven't even started building anything.

Yeah..I'm considering illicitly running the basic version of my long-awaited plot starting today. I can't decide if I want it to overlap with the next plot or no.

ICARUS checks her phone.

"According to google, it includes pillow fights, spin the bottle, truth or dare, gossip, twister, watching a romantic movie, telling eachother scary stories, eating each other out(the fuck google?), and in a recent trend, video games. I am not sure what the second last is. I assume it means an eating contest."
<If you do find out, please keep it to yourself.>
<I've heard that bicuri-->
<No, Nuriel.>

4673
I have no clue. But my post came in before your post, so however it happened, it happened.

4674
"So, sprite. Who. Are. You?"

4675
I'm too dead to complain.

Action: Haunt mastahcheese.

I was not allowed to inform you of the patrol because it was an event we were not meant to know about. I got a lucky roll so I knew but was not allowed to tell you.
I return to: What the hell, Sanure.

Even if I'd been able to which I wasn't.
...You really could have.

The first chance I had was when I reached the town at which point we had 24 hours before the patrols arrival so I deemed helping a little girl more important then 5 minutes of extra warning.
The attack came early due to Solairis terrorizing a child resulying in me moving to disable her and the GM dropped in the patrol to cut it off at which point I put priority on defending my friends over telling you lot since I ha already told Lucien and he'd seen me run off.
So I left filling you all in to him.
I retract my statement immediately above. This brings up the question of how the gnolls covered the 24 hours of distance in five minutes, to which I add my statement above that one.

Quote
There are lots of tactics for superior numbers. Off the top of my head. Scap creates a water wave with his newly learned magic and hits the Gnolls. Gilgamesh uses Gungnir on the water. Huge numbers of Gnolls take a double strength shock and many die.
That would take a hell of a lot of water, containing some kind of conductive solute. And it would probably spread, soak, and shock all of us too.

Quote
I have several dozen more using the team's skill in combination to make them stronger.
Then share it. STOP SAYING "Hey gaiz I know stuff I can tell you" WITHOUT ACTUALLY TELLING US THE STUFF.

Quote
Also, you were offered combat training as I recall. You refused it.
Carl was offered training with polearms. Not combat in general, polearms in specific.
Not only is he not a fucking combat character, if he does engage in combat a hammer would make more sense than a polearm.

02 - stationed in the USA - chassis has been painted in red white and blue for maximum liberty, a flamethrower and a pain-ray for crowd controle have been added
Mind if I suggest that one of the uses it is commonly used for is hunting down magic users* for pacification and prosecution?
*The US has outlawed all magic, remember.

How about a sniper unit designed to eliminate enemies at extremely long ranges using a high-precision rifle that fires a stream of neutrinos in large enough quantities that people hit with it get a lethal dose?
Relevant.
Basically, if you wanted to get killed by nutrinos from a friggin' supernova, you would need to be inside the star before it exploded. (And of course not die from being incinerated or from more conventional radiation.)
Nutrino-based weapons are like the most inefficient way to kill people ever.

good, good, lore is always good.
Fun fact: Nico seems to be based on a character for a superhero game I ran way back when*. Richard was there, too.
*Or at least they have a shared inspiration.

ICARUS room wouldn't be big enough for everyone anyway, thus will be held in the caverns below the castle. Icarus was not kidding when she said there was a pillow-fort. The pillow fort she built down there is big enough for 20 people, and even has a second level, and a fireplace (surrounded by fireproof pillows) to warm it up/cook with.
That is not structurally sound.

ICARUS hands the little elf an invitation too, and strikes a pose.
-no boys allowed
-must wear pajama
-must prepare fun game or activity or scary story
-food and drink is provided
-pillowfort is provided
-no boys allowed
((Goddammnit.))
Easy, just find some gender-changing magic.

((if only there was a size-changing magic circle around as the one Kyle used to visit Hainuwele, who btw seems to be mostly busy managing the nearby fingerling settlement. She hasn't been in the castle for days, mostly because I am bored with her))
((Didn't Kyle put a circle of that type into the castle?))
He did.

Hi Elf!
Angel stares at Alistair.
"I...I...I don't feel good..."
She throws up. On Alistair.
Angel just sort of stares, horrified.

"You didn't invest in the ICARUS production, you stole that antimatter"
"It wasn't stolen, it was a gift. Bit of a white elephant, but a gift nonetheless."

"Ex-KGB assassin, now prime minister of russia, suspected to be one of the top 5 human mages currently alife, and current owner of the ICARUS-01. If you value your existance, don't get on his bad side."
"There is one force more powerful than the KGB, or anything else humanity can throw around. Money, dear...robot."

ICARUS walks off to find more female members of the castle to invite
Angel isn't at the castle (yet), but she exists and is female.

<The steady increase on voices on this channel is getting annoying. There should be an option to only talk to those you want to talk, you know, like a phone.>
<There is. It just isn't the default.>

"IT'S TIME TO DUEL!"
"This isn't Yugioh, you can cut the ham."

"What, still only lands, no 2 drop? Newb."
"A, not everyone has good luck. B, learn politeness if you don't want to be disassembled by someone who decides he or she has had enough of your crap."

"They don't."
"There's more than one strategy, ICARUS."
As he says this, he takes an opportunity to start practicing reading crads from the reflections on ICARUS's face/body.

Good luck flying that if you actually put it's main propulsion in the center, I'll take the brick instead.
Perhaps that could be an engine that just gives lift, and smaller (RCS?) engines around the sides provide the actual thrust?
