Have the headcrab crawl through the vent.

Unless I can detatch from my host. Can I?

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: I don't get how to carve tracks on slopes.

No, you need to designate the track on the up-ramp, not the down-ramp.

I promoted to the sole survivor of the original hammer squad to Hammerer. She'll live, but she'll have so many splints it will look like a wooden exoskeleton.

I imagine some set of armor like in Dead Space only made up of nothing but wood. That's pretty dorfy.

For some reason she became pale. I don't see infection, though.
The forgotten beast shell opal didn't rise. It was it's only piece, but it was apparently a shell+body creature, which may not be raisable. (though IIRC shells could be.) Further testing required. If only I could kill that mudstone beast I caged... pity it has no useful interaction, only vapors.
Vapors can be useful...

You can't enjoy the computer because you just destroyed it.
...which you attempt to devour. It tastes real bad but you do it anyway since you are hungry.
That's the part I wanted to enjoy.

Go through the smaller door to your right.
Okay with me.

Sure thing.

Has anyone, by any chance, had a chance to play this mod?

Why do we assume that dwarf snot flies at supersonic speed and can penetrate deeper than any bolt?
The real question is, why do you assume it doesn't?
Because Toady doesn't actively program stupid stuff?

Out of curiosity, what's the purple stuff?

Necromancer adventurers will spontaneously raise the dead, who will be friendly to them and eat the other dwarves. Sadly they suffer from no booze slowness.
Wrong; they only raise the dead when they want to.

Which is everytime they see a body part or corpse in my experience. While this can be very useful in army training, they need to be kept away from corpses, refuse piles and workshops with body parts.
Quite true, but weren't you talking about adventurer necromancers? As in, controlled by the player?
But isn't this thread about adventurers in fortress mode? Unfortunatly, dwarf mode doesn't quite allow that level of micromanaging :( which is a shame, I'd love to order Urist McUseless to light on fire those wooden walls he oh-so-casually got locked inside
Ah. Yeah, that would be Fun.

Or type in o, then r then o again to tell the dwarves to gather refuse that is outside.
Good thing to do.

Are they outside?
o-r-o. This should let the dwarves dump things that are outside.

One of our planters was found dead. Grau says it was old age.
Holy crap, a dwarf died of old age? What is WRONG with this fortress?
Long history, old migrants to begin with.
So? You're playing DF, in a well-established fortress, with necromancers sieging it, and you need OLD AGE to kill your dwarves?
(And dwarves can die of old age anywhere from 150-170.)
No necromancers have come in years, they only send their zombies, 100 at a time.
Nonetheless, experiment time: if we kill the gemstone webbing beast, we shall se if it reanimates, and if yes, will it have powers or not.
If it is raised, it should continue to do its webbing interaction.

Dear Kobolds;

Overs'r, Metropolis of Susnûul.
Wait... do kobold lay eggs? o_O

 :P
Yup. Once, there was a bug that female kobold thieves would pause to lay eggs when they came to steal your shinies.

... What the hell are we doing now?

I... I don't know. I... Turn into... A red dragon?
Grr...

Red. RED. We'll do some cool 'Voltron' power combination thing or something.
...How familiar are you with D&D dragons?

Ssssssh, there is no need to bring up that petty rivalry when we have something delicious a greater threat delicious to combat.
>Be suspicious of the red dragon
Fight him for dominance.
No.

I thought this was about adventurer migrants that are necros. In adventure mode raising the dead is player controlled of course, but in fort mode you can't control what and when the necro migrant raises something.
Ah. Yeah, that would be Fun.
