Yeah! Tell the story to GoombaGeek!I had my first successful siege fought off - two at once, eight trolls, tons of hammergoblins, a couple master/lord rank goblins... and it was all thanks to my surprising stream of Great migrants. Seriously, I had Great everythings. One carpenter got to Legendary, and trading consisted of masterful spiked wooden balls. He made practically everything in the fort, and wood was abundant. So it was pretty funny when, to force goblins to walk over weapon traps over a pit of spikes by retracting the bridges, the legendary carpenter was on the bridges and fell onto the masterful spikes he himself had crafted. He dragged himself through the brass door of the spike pit, but it was too late. His neck had been punctured and he suffocated.Ooh, hey, you should give this story to that guy who draws stuff!
The fortress was later abandoned for FPS reasons - turns out my computer isn't invincible and actually can't handle a giant underground reservoir constantly being emptied into an aqueduct. It was worth it, though, to make prisoners constantly have to fight the water flow or else they'd get swept 40 z-levels into a flooded cavern pit.
The worst rains I've had have all been blistering - one which blistered every external body part so bad one person went blind from blisters on his eyeballs,
That's that fabulous slime that you posted about in the, "What's going on in your fort?" thread, right? Arguably, all the purple makes up for that.
Ayup. Sadly that fort got lost due to numerous mod tests and random save deletions. I shall miss all the purple. ): I seem to get a lot of purple evil rains though, it's kind of cool.Blind dwarves are less dumb than sighted ones.
You would think that, until he couldn't kill anything running away from him because he couldn't see it. Watching someone chase a fleeing animal down 50 zlevels and across the caverns catching up numerous times but never actually being able to attack it is just sad.
Thrall weathers are common, or atleast they used to be. Whats really interesting is what type of weather it is. I once had goblin vomit rain, which probably is the worst type Ive seen.Use blind meleedwarves and signed marksdwarves.

I think I remember bring able to trade for stone which may be a good early investment. There also is now ore in soil and turning used metal (like from invaders) info crude metal things.Preaching to the Choi, Cap.
It looks like this version has some interesting new touches!
