Wait, I go now? just got a message about that. Am I correct in this assumption?
Yup. GWG got angry at people being impatient and gave up his turn. you're next in line.
It doesn't help that I have no DF time...

Including Roll To Dodge.

I wish I could find an affordable psychologist for my laptop.

Protip #1: You win when you've dug up all the green cotton candy. Dig it all up!
Its blue.
Get to the bottom of it as fast as you can.  There might be a weapon at the bottom.
That's something else.
If you find a blue weapon in a strange structure, remove it to get your !!prize!!!

DF General Discussion / Re: Halloween Adventurer

When is Halloween anyway?

(Not an American)
I don't think it's an American holiday...

Anyway, the 31st of October.
There's Haloween in America. I don't think it originated, though, so it depends on how you define "American holiday."

The "open space" is magma with no floor under it. The other one is semi-molten rock under magma.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: telling what resource to use when creating items

* create a small stockpile that accepts only diorite near a mason shop
* make sure it has at least one wheelbarrow assigned, which is default, and that you craft a wheelbarrow
* query the stockpile and set it to "give" to the mason

now they are linked and mason will work only with those stones.
Easiest, most reliable option.

Couldn't you, I dunno, shear the alpacas?
I hear that butchered wool is bugged.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: You can't deliver magma in buckets, can you?
« on: September 26, 2012, 04:22:41 pm »
Can the dwarves just haul some magma in a minecart, as they do with ordinary stuff when the path is disrupted?

Yes, they can. I think that you cannot pour the lava out without a track stop though.

Wait, so I can make a short track going into magma and out to fill a minecart. Then have a dwarf haul the minecart full of magma up to the surface rather than carving a long-arse winding ramp track to the surface? Then just make another track with a stop to dump the magma where I want it?

Yes, I have just tested this. Nevertheless a magma-filled cart is heavy, so the hauling takes forever (edit: maybe it's possible to use wheelbarrows for that?) The investment in tracks probably repays itself very quickly.
You only have to haul 2 minecarts to fuel a workshop, 3 to be safe. If you declare 2 or 3 routes then they'll be hauled simulteniously. That's pretty much free magma workshops.
The tricks are getting magma and filling the minecart with it.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Dwarf King is labeled as a Goblin Craftsman
« on: September 26, 2012, 04:20:51 pm »
Yup.

It seems like your Dwarven Civ was once conquered by Goblins and thereby put a Goblin as king.
OR..
Perhaps the Dwarven civ adopted a Goblin, and somehow he rose to position as king?

I would check the legends if I were you.
The second--the first would be a goblin civ with dwarves in it.

Damiac, you post basically to say I was being a jerk--something I'll admit to--and to say "Omnipotent gods are stupid" (what I was saying back when I thought that was what the OP was suggesting, and pretty much universally agreed on), "What would it be like?" Unless my memory is faulty, some methods have been suggested.

Does no one in the forum have an idea of what Phillip should do? Even a simple" Phillip should keep doing what he is doing right now" would be better than nothing...
Am I being pushy?

I seriously suggest we all make our own kindoms and submit them to a GM who combines them all.  We vote on the outcome and !bam! we gotta make in about 5 days.
Sounds okay. Heck, I can make a good map...
