Ambergris, oil, and peat...I can work with that.

The way I see it, gravity manipulation is more powerful but less precise.

And no singularities unless you are somehow power-boosted and want to destroy the world!

Oh, this has started?
...Is there some kind of waiting list?

why is everyone posting in huge, violently-colored letters?
I think the're compensating for something. Probably elven ears.
Ah, I see.

I've made soap blocks and crafts reactions, as well as wax blocks reactions. Wax seems more useless than soap, so I'll work on it firster. Question: How, other than bees, could I get wax? It seems to me that the biggest problem with wax is its rarity.

No, jumping will be added without being implemented.

Multi-tile trees are my favorite bit of that post, although that might be in part because of the thread I started about discussing such trees. I had noted that they'd probably be added soon. I was right!

A book on how to make a terrorist plot and a book on making bombs.

I DON'T CARE IF NO WAL-MART SELLS THEM!

Well, as long as you don't expect gravity mastery to be "telekinesis with a different name," you're in. Let's say that you can manipulate gravity fields, but they have to be at least a certain size...say, 1 foot across? Sound good?

DF Suggestions / Re: Ghosts as a regional interaction
« on: September 20, 2012, 10:38:13 pm »
Again, there's no point in wasting time coding attacks that do little to an entity that can heal faster than you can attack.

You might have punched off most of the upper body's tissue, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to sever the upper body of a creature using the standard body plan. Lower body is fair game, though.

Again, gravity affects the body but not the soul. The dwarf who is paralyzed still has a body. See the problem?

The energy might well come from the ghost trying frantically to get itself memorialized or buried so it can move on, or perhaps its energy comes from no longer needing food, drink, or rest to sustain its energy levels. Or maybe it just uses a lot less energy now that it has no body to keep alive and stuff.

-----

Anyways, your original suggestion was about adding regional interactions for ghosts, not removing them. How will adding procedural generation of ghost code make the ghosts more justified?

You can take the field-medic side of things and I can take the advanced-medicine side of things. We can tease each other about the things the other can't do. It could be interesting.

Can I join, or are there too many heroes?
I'll put you on the waiting list if you come up with a hero.

A reoccurring villain? Sure. I'd avoid direct confrontations to not deal with making the fight seem endless or unfair. I remember this from when I ran a superhero RP. If you're allowing direct confrontations set ground rules for everyone.
Indeed. I want this to continue!
There will be recurring villains, some played by players, some not, and some which I pretend are one but which are actually the other.

Breaking the pyramid.

Maybe so, but...yeah, clarity is nice. Yes, priests should practice their god's chosen activities and not be as blessed as if they didn't. Normal worshippers who practice the god's favored activity but have most of their life outside the church--the DF equivalent of a RL Christian who goes to church on Sundays and perhaps participates in a fundraiser or two, while his living is made at whatever God's domain is--would not be as blessed as most priests. Any objections?
My definition of priest as relating to a discussion on who should be able to "cast divine spells" is people who have worshiped a god and followed its precepts enough to be able to call down miracles on a fairly regular and predictable basis, because "proest" is a lot shorter.
Healers who do not draw their powers from gods should probably exist, and should use the same coding framework, but are distinct from priests.

We can discuss specifics via PM. No need to let the heroes know your plots ahead of time...
