DF Suggestions / Re: Let's Discuss: Multi-tile Trees

Knowing Toady's style, 5 seems the most probable. He's probably also take the opportunity to revamp cavein behavior...

Probably, large tree trunks could use the same tiles as smooth walls...but what about branches and leaves?

Dump leaves into magma, or in front of dragon pillbox.

>Get unused orbs.
>If successful, goto 6.
>If not successful, go to boss and kick it yo knock off orbs.
>If 3 is successful, goto 6.
>If 3 is unsuccessful, goto 11.
>Put orbs into incinerator.
>Activate incinerator.
>Check orbs.
>If orbs are incinerated, rejoice and find more.
>If orbs are not incinerated, goto 11.
>Be sad

I will allow players to claim crewmembers, though the game still focusses on the ship.

Granted. You eat it too fast and choke.

I wish humanity could and would solve its environmental problems easily and cheaply.

Squash

Shield material only matters for weight. Leather is light, so it's good for a fast-moving dwarf.

I think savage forests should also have bigger, wider trees. Think of California's redwood forests and the like as real-world savage biomes. Their trunks are 30 feet across, meaning around 3 tiles wide at the measurements quoted. (IIRC, tiles were estimated at 2*2*3 meters, making redwoods 4-5 tiles across. And the biggest ones could probably be bigger...) And just imagine if the elves settled in a savage forest... you could fit a small fortress in there. If you killed the elves first.

Note: Despite our elf-bashing, elves have awesome physical stats, notably agility. Give them decent weaponry...

He's being ironic. Or perhaps possessed.
Edit: Wait, elves are feyish...

A butterfly flew into a door, leading to it being killed by a cat, leading to the door not closing, leading to a bunch of goblins entering.
Some humans were set on fire. Some dwarves were bothered by the smoke. One tantrum spiral later, only a child and a militia dwarf were left.
Both from Boatmurdered.

I never use danger room, marksdwarves, or most exploits. Mostly dwarfpower, traps (at least half weapon), and occasionally some mega-deathtrap.

I agree with adwarf.

I'll take a medic, named George William Gyralt, typically referred to as "Doc," "Will," or "OH GOD HELP!!" He was originally planning to be a genetic therapist, but then his homeworld's economy crashed and, many years and half an arm later, here he is, helping a crew working in an actively hostile and completely lacking in OSHA compliance. Will is glad that they night finally be going somewhere marginally safer, so he can get as much sleep as he needs. Will will help all he can under the direction of those who know how the hell to fix stuff.

Granted. The AI turns out to be the child of HAL and GLaDOS, and resembles the latter more.
You never said it needed to work properly...

I wish I was deported.

Alright...The medieval cannons are fine.
The magicians will be trained in the Magical School of Redcliff, which requires a source of heat. Using one's own body heat is possible, but dangerous. A fair-sized power allows a lot of raw magical power, but has its own obvious issues. Hence, the mage's deck is typically made of some sort of metal or stone on the mage-carrying warships. Is this an acceptable limitation?
The turrets seem kinda...well, sure, sounds neat. Replace "automated" with "controlled from within a safe location" or something to that effect and that should be good.
