Roll To Dodge / Re: The Place Time and Space Goes To Die
« on: September 16, 2012, 04:53:08 pm »
I can't wait to see what Thaum is!

You can. Anyone I've completed can go back to where I spoilered all the characters, you have inventories and the like now.

Thaum is big. Thaum is stone with sturdy joints. Thaum is kind of like a big man-rhino beetle, with a wand horn.

Thaum is scary. Thaum is unhappy that Thaum is scary. Thaum tries to be friendly. Exceptions are made when Thaum needs to kill something.

Use some of our cunning to distract him before slipping the Kriss through his armor and retreating. See what happens.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: The Most dangerous creatures?

Going with the assumption they are allowed, perhaps a Whale-sized spider who shoots poisonous webs, is a master of stealth, attacks ONLY sentient creatures (and elves), can swim in water and lava just fine, and flies... Or is that overkill? Maybe it should have tentacles for good measure, ending in spears.
Either that or anything spawning in a good biome.
Overkill? meh, my dwarves could kill it.
Dwarves can kill any- and everything.
Your right. Now that I think about it, the most terrifying thing would be a creature with huge numbers of redundant bodyparts, and no blood or pain, so dwarves would spend forever trying to cut it all out instead fg going for the torso. This would be even more terrfying when the next update is up, what with multi-bodyparts people making a many armed creature alot harder.
Dwarves can kill those. Dwarves are more dangerous.

Good luck. You're still in a forest.

d-b-d over the cages, k and undump the cages themselves. Assign dedicated haulers. Wait.
That alone won't work, since enemy equipment is forbidden by default (to prevent your idiotic soldiers from claiming it as part of their uniforms) - you also need to reclaim the cages' contents using d-b-c.
Oops, forgot that part. Sorry.

You whisper to Dodok to untie you. He does, quickly followed by releasing Eeaki. You grab your poker and the rest of your stuff before trying to run. It's dark, but you think you have found an elf-free path. Dodok finishes donning his armor, urging you to run. You do. Shortly thereafter, a bright light shines behind you. A dragon made of flame grabs you  and carries you above the treetops' setting them on fire in the meantime. Judging by the cursing, Dodok was grabbed, too, and he didn't get his axe back. You fly for maybe a minute before the dragon begins to fade. You land, setting more trees on fire, and fall in the ground. Eeaki is unconscious. You hear the whole elven camp waking up to try and chase you. Maybe the whole flee thing was poorly-chosen, but who knows what the elves would have done to you?

Oh, yeah, them. Unless we need more bolts, we can ignore them for now.

You could explore on foot in adventure mode. Or see if both rivers leave the embark areas.

Dwarfiness in roofing the whole courtyard. And why would we make a puny trench when we could make a huge, steep moat?
because you can't make a huge, steep moat. plus, moats are useless versus flying undead ravens, a wall arround a large courtyard would take a long time, and we don't really need surface space. so, one small tower to keep a watcher and give us something physical to block our entrance is all the defense we need
Ravens can fly over towers, and the tower won't protect the llamas. And why can't we make a big moat? We. Are. DWARVES!

Fine then. We could always find a way to extract the stupid from people to power the laser. That way we'd have our superweapon, and be bettering humanity at the same time.
This.
We'll need to set up some decoy system to gather a whole lot of stupidity in one place for extration, though.
Hmm...maybe we can...I don't know.
I could try setting up a big debate where I ask every creationist or IDer in town to argue against evolution, we should get a good kick-start from that.

But we'd have all the pseudo-atheists behind us!
Not the ones with Christian families, or morals!
