Bill Kerman approves of the Councilors' suggestion for technological development. He isn't so approving of the hovercraft idea, but he didn't like the rockets either.

The pamphlets are a big hit with the engineers. The scientists say they overstate our capabilities and warn that these new technologies might explode. Fear-mongerers.

We create the HoverTron 1000, a useful little machine capable of hovering and then detaching a command pod capable of flying around a little more before landing.

Rumors that the engineers mistook the Sepratrons for Mystery GooTM Containment Unit Minis are under investigation.

The flight does not go according to plan.

What, lifting off into space, then exploding when we tried to eject? Nah, perfectly fine.

Let's revert to before I set the throttle too high. Even one-third has us taking off rather than hovering. Two little ticks has us on the ground, three has us taking off slowly. At least ejection is working well at these speeds.

It wasn't a complete waste; at least we got 0.02 science.

Well. That was a complete bust...and a crappy update, so I'll give another later today when I have time. Bye for now.

The picnic is set up and presumably begins.

"Nonsense. Maintain me."
Will smirks.

ICARUS stomps off - right through a wall
The smirk fades, replaced with a sigh.

"Will, get away from me. You're one of the last people I would like to see right now..."
Will does.

((Also works, but even more anachronistic.))

Would my character even have significant abnormality? He's a mage in the loosest sense of the term.

Tearing the soul apart just makes me think of horcruxes.
Is it possible to...distance the mind and spirit, still tethered to the physical but "stored" in some other location?

And if mages are agents of order...what the hell is with what's gone on so far?

If you guys could all submit a icon for your charterer, 47x47 pixels in size, that would be great.
That is not 47 pixels square.

"Kext, was it? Why, exactly, is it that you believe that...the clearly important task you are up to is more important than what you have been ordered to do?"
"I did kinda fail at the task I volunteered to do, I guess. Did ya order me to do anything?"
"Go find the others. I ordered all of you to try and gather the runaway and the lost ones, unless you might be able to do something about the crystal, in which case do that." He stares at the expanse. "It needs to be stopped."

((So... sharpened to a single atom sharp?
Also if you have played BoI you may realize what I'm wanting to do.))
I don't even know what BoI stands for. Binding of Isaac?
And light isn't made of atoms.

Also, I realized that I don't have actions for everyone. I have Kyle (Meat Golem), Angel (Check Tracks), and Selina (Run!), but not the others. Well, I HAD Kext's, but that's answered above, and I suppose I have actions for the others, but they probably want to amend them.

Minecraft, with a mix of Kerbal Space Program, used to simulate air/naval battles.

Swesome.

Thomas decides to become a real asset to the revolution.
Much better than being a virtual asset.
I'm here all night, folks.

((A light Pickaxe might work in this situation however.))
Perhaps. Depends on if it's sharp enough to overcome its light weight.

((Jeez Frozen had a lot of songs now that I think about it.))
An above-average number, I suppose.

Turn coming after class.

A-ha. Actual soldier who looks like Anastasiya.
Because she is.
I'm glad I kept that save.

Hm. What is the difference between the mind and the soul?
Like, in general? I don't know. Ask a priest who specialises in theological theory, I guess.
In this game, silly.

Quote
More specifically in regards to the book... there's three energetic forms within the person: The mental circuit, the physical circuit and the spiritual one. They each have separate roles and metaphysical meanings. Psychic power stems from the mental circuit, magical power from the physical one.
The interconnection and interplay between the three forms a fourth circuit and that set of interconnections is the soul.

There's a bit more to it than that, but that's the gist of it.
So, the soul is more or less as much of the body as anything?
What happens if you were to, say, transfer a mind to something else?

KylexAshley is most tragic ship.
Why? Just because the ship itself is dead doesn't make it tragic.

KylexAshley is one person loving another who most likely will never feel the same way.
A little unrequited love doesn't make a ship tragic, either.
And if it does, AngelxAlistair is sadder, because Angel's never going to age so A. they'll never have another (non-creepy) chance and B. Angel's not likely to find anyone else. On the other hand, KylexAshley is still hypothetically possible some time down the road and, let's face it, Kyle has no love-interest shortage.

I've been thinking about joining this for a while now, is there anything in particular I need to know before I can create a character?
Let's see...
-Ignoring the OOC helps.
-Ignoring the incredibly inconsistent lore helps as well (especially because the GM didn't write most of it and probably isn't aware of or disagrees with a large chunk of it).
-Having an asexual character also helps.
-People don't seem to care, for whatever reason, about descriptions too much. I've mainly been seeing overt labeling as "cute" or "upset" and whatnot rather than describing body language and expressions whilst letting people come to their own interpretations.
-There is an overly large quantity of characters.
-Most of the characters are not necessarily straight (rather irritatingly enough the female cast seems to be far more dispositioned towards this, which does rase certain concerns).
-Players may lie about their rolls so when running any sort of plot, it's best to do the rolls yourself.
-Players tend to argue their character's view in the OOC for some reason, putting the actual RP quantity in doubt.
-@Empiricist is cynical and this advice notably affects that.
My thoughts on the advice:
-The OOC can help explain things, at least skim it.
-The lore is inconsistent as hell, but it's there and you should try to follow it. Or at least be aware of it, so Ashley doesn't drop something in the Void to destroy it or something.
-Indeed.
-Yeah...eh.
-Is there an English word that means "yes" but more so?
-Well, most of the characters period are female. Kyle seems to be bi, and both Lyle and Mallory seem to be at least bicurious, so...the percentages might more or less work out?
-I don't think it happens often, so...yeah, roll important rolls, but little things are fine to let be. Especially if they can just try again.
-I don't see how. I mean, A. it helps explain unusual actions and B. it should not in any way mean that you and your character are alike.
-Indeed you are. You also don't play that much.
Further advice:
-Elf may be the GM, technically, but he gives the duties to everyone else.
-When putting together your character's backstory, keep murder to a minimum. The last two characters (Hai and Jac) to not do so caused quite a stir over it.
-Don't feel afraid to be silly, there's probably someone who out-sillies you.
-If you've entered adolescence and have a skirt, stay away from Kyle.

You know, when people start mentioning getting addicted to something or other of which I possess no knowledge of, I like to envision what sort of hypothetical illicit substance would possess that as a street name :P
That sounds like fun, even with things you DO know about.

No, I was thinking more of some sort of mundane substance that causes a calamitous high followed quickly by a catastrophic crash as if reaching ecstasy of altitudes of such great magnitudes that, like the Tower of Babylon, almost as if by divine intervention, the user is spiked back down into the curb for their grand folly.
Ooh, poetic.

The other two main characters found the bad guy's size changing gun and now the two giant girls are fighting with blades of grass.
Two main characters were fighting earlier.
There are two other main characters, finding the size-changing gun.
The total is three main characters.
Math does not work.
