Vampires can't have kids, and necromancers and werebeasts swiftly retreat from society. All of them tend to kill people around them in various ways. Both of these reduce the chance of a vamp/were/necro having any]/i] family, let alone family afflicted as he is.

Suicidal people will now properly give quests to kill them.

Priests of gods of suicide will no longer excommunicate members or declare holy wars on those who do not follow their beliefs about suicide. Also, priests of suicide gods are no longer required to commit suicide.

Dwarves will no longer use engravings to mock the player's poor choices. Intentionally.

...No question?

What would Urist do if the overseer had a fell mood?

I think we should have some people attempt to get fish using any remaining spears, in order to supplement our food stocks.
Sure, as long as we get some buildings, a wall, and some proto-farms figured out.

Couldn't we engrave the aluminum?
Why on earth would you do that when you have a perfect stash of weapons-grade Brainfreez up in Latvia?
...Ignoratio Elenchi. You wouldn't happen to be personally acquainting yourself with that Brainfreez stash, would you?

Nothing. Well, he'd die a lot in NetHack, but he wouldn't be doing anything the overseer counted.

What would Urist do if he opened a portal to the Dungeons of Doom's Rogue level?

Thanks.

Right as Timber dawned, the moody dwarf went berzerk. No unwalling for you...EVER. Let that workshop be your tomb.

An engraver gave birth to a lovely, long-bearded, giant-axe-blade-loving, toad-hating boy. This interrupts her task of making marble blocks. Both of his parents are engravers; other family members present include two cousins (a gem cutter and a planter), the paternal grandparents (a peasant and a trapper), and two aunts, both fishery workers, one of whom leads the new squad of recruits and the other of whom just got added. The captain is the older sister. I wish the first child of the fortress well.

Where's our tetrahedrite? We struck it a dozen times...
There were a couple of cave-ins. One did most certainly not lead to the death of an unnamed miner. However, a gem cutter decided that Sockpuppet's bruises necessitated hospitalization, despite the fact that they healed before he was hauled to bed. Socky promptly marched back to the caverns, mined a single tile, and went to get some food.
I set up some marble flooring to be put down over part of the cavern area where the statue will go and call it a night for Hopestarved.

"Bodka?" Is that armor-piercing potato liquor?

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Neverending Song Compiled
« on: September 14, 2012, 09:47:42 pm »
There is a game which is supposed to be stitching together random lyrics to make a crazy song. It seems to be succeeding (emphasis on the crazy), so I intend to record that song in text form, about one page per verse. I encourage anyone who wants to set these to music.

Formatting may be slightly altered.

Spoiler: Verse 3 (click to show/hide)

That's enough insanity for now.

Alright, an aluminum-coated stone penny. Pro? Con?

Pro-Extremely cheap to produce.

Con-Worth nothing or next-to if not backed up by bars of gold or another valuable metal.
...Or the US government. By that logic, a $100 bill is nigh worthless.

Wow, no mechanisms? Who's been running this fortress?
...Oh, right.
