I was hoping for more amusing skills, but useful is fine.

Create lots of wealth and wait. Also leave wide-open entrances to all three cavern layers.
All my gates are open and my created wealth is about 73m.  Fortress is 14 years old.
...Start a megaproject to pass the time between sieges?

...Yup, it sure is.
Deon, is there any reason you can't do what Putnam suggested?

Continue work as planned. After the husband recovers and is reunited with his wife and introduced to everyone, have him watch the farm. Lurina and Grant should go scouting, and Tom should hunt for food and a companion like always.

...And then what?

Also, how what properties should I give bread and cake? And pretzels?

What non-brewing skills does he have?
...And what do you mean trying to destroy a farm?

Nothing. There seems to be a fair amount of lethal stuff in there, and tons of contradictory stuff.

What would Urist do if the overseer went into a fell mood?

Dwarves no longer reject non-virgin brides is they, ahem, deflowered her.

Modded creatures with custom blood types should no longer cause bugs where blood transfusions would cause instant coltting of the blood. On the other hand, that code has been set aside as a new syndrome that forgotten beasts and the like can get, heh heh.

School projects no longer trigger strange moods.

Fell moods no longer target entities marked for butchering who are the moody dwarf.

So far, we have a budget of $172 or so if everyone chips in the amounts they said in their posts. That's enough for...drinks and cookies for a small congratulatory party to pay the soldiers with at the end of the long campaign, maybe 100 if we get cheap enough foodstuffs. So, get 150-200 soldiers willing to work for drinks and cookies and hope a lot of them die? Or ask the UN to give us money to liberate the DRC?
...Or we send in Brainfreez.
That should be cheap, but earplugs and a program warning the enemy soldiers about the bad effects of drugs and threatening them with execution if they take them would pretty much neutralize him. If we can get him in fast enough...brainfreez, how much BrainfreezTM do you have to spare? We can't pay you much, but it's for a good cause that we'd elect you Chief Officer of Chemical Warfare or something if you donate it!

Universal enough, it seems. The elves pointing weapons at you lower them and point them at Dodok, who is scowling at them. "Drop your axe," you mutter. He grunts and does so. You try your feeble Elvish and try to say that you mean to do no harm. What you said was intended to literally mean, "I do not want to take your living," but given your lack of experience with Elvish (you've only ever even seen one elf, and he was an actor who you didn't think to ask to chat with you in Elvish to hone your accent) you could have said something completely different...
It takes a moment, but the elves seem to get the idea that you're not about to trick them. Keeping a spear pointed at each of you, the bowelves come forward with lengths of rope and tie the three of you up. Dodok is knocked unconscious by a sharp blow of a bow over his head when he won't cooperate--those things are stronger than they look.

You are bound, stripped of all weapons (but allowed to keep the bracelet and such, although not the toy sword), and then the elves haul you to some kind of camp. The bowelves take you, the junior swordelf slings Eeaki over her shoulder, and the spearelves struggle under Dodok's weight. You are brought into a camp and tossed to one side.
Dodok wakes up in an hour or so. He asks what you've got left, and you show him. He looks at the bracelet and asks to see it. Do you let him?

He'll get some kind of weapon when we move on to Round 2...I'll bear the suggestion in mind.
