Let the GM test some suggested species against the base races in the arena and see what he says. Maybe he'll disallow them, maybe he'll let them in with modification or higher price, the worst he can do is say no.

So...let's chat about races we'd like to see priced.

I expected no less of this. We need a,  sobering influence on the management of this fort. Maybe we should have someone run in non-drunk? I know i I keep proposing this, But without a decent fix once and a while, the fort will keep being destroyed. A damaged fort is very hard to deal with under optimal condtions, and the drunk aren't great at disaster-management.
Sober schmober. There needs to be Fun.
I hope fun means having your guts pulled out. Because that's what happened to you.
This is fun. Well, not for the dwarves, but who cares? We never care about them anyways. Us monsters.

I'm not going to RP much right now, nor interfere more than needed.

Why is there a puppy skeleton in the middle of a big patch of sand? Why are several animals starving and several dwarves drinking from the brook? Why do we have no wood, or magma? Why do we not have spare picks? Why are our miners set to butcher, tan, and haul some stuff?
I fiddled with pastures and prepared my megaproject's area. I also fix some other issues. For instance, I queue up some brewing and block-making jobs, and also give up on making even one porcelain block. Maybe I'll make a marble statue. And I assign a couple more dwarves to mining, in case a couple new picks turn up. Not likely--we have NO logs, NO ore, and ONE bar of charcoal. Maybe if we hit the caverns, we'll get a bunch of ore and coal. Or a magma pipe, even better.

I'm serious, does anyone have something that will let me make a halfway decent fish or do I need to break out the Legos?

I'm wondering something for a FG&R thread I'm participating in: What kinds of disasters, realistic or fantastic*, would cause a whole city (or most of it) to flee as fast as they could overnight, taking minimal supplies and leaving their friends and less-liked family behind?

Meh, we'll work that issue out by beta. Or !!scientists!! will start by seeing if rotten lungs allow one to breathe in magma, while !!chemists!! begin work on separating the compounds responsible for the various symptoms and separating them...

...Once we get new ones, the old scientists are dead. It probably has nothing to do with the glow emanating from the laboratory.
