You ask; he agrees to try, if you'll buy the following:

5 new CPUs, $65 each
2 picks, $30 each
2 shovels, $10 each
1 axe, $15
1 sledgehammer, $15
1 carpenter's hammer, $5
1 drill, $10
2 large hands, available for $50+shipping and handling, each. (S&H is $5 for within a week, $10 for within a few days, or $25 for within-14-business-hours)
$200 other misc. parts
20 bottles of whiskey, $7 each
TOTAL: $750

Do you approve?
P.S. The cost coming to $750 was a happy accident.

Something like 25 of whatever material your weapon is made out of for free, perhaps?

Alright, good enough.

I still think a murderous vampire or necromancer  ghost you can't memorialize for some reason would be scarier.

[4] I'm not sure how, but you convinced the police officer that you aren't the same person who burglarized and destroyed the shop and then ran over some cops.

You arrive. Jim looks at your car and asks if you want to have it turned into a robot. You glance at the setting sun and say, "Let me think about it, it's getting late. I'd appreciate it if you'd fix it--before I feed you to my pit of hungry wildcats!"you add belatedly. You can, technically, do that; stick the kittens into the pit and toss Jim down. The kittens might not be wild, per se, but they sure aren't housebroken. You really need to work on threats.
You go to sleep after making sure Jim got to work on the car.

END OF DAY ONE OF VILLAINY

You wake up. What have you decided about the car-bot?

I think normal crosslords do, too. Markslords?

Alright.

You hire the mechanic. He loads his tools into his pickup and offers to drive you back home. You agree.

A minute or two out, you get stopped by the police. They take one look at you, then say, "Ma'am, will you please exit the vehicle? You are wanted--"
Do you want to hear what you're wanted for or what?

Find food and supplies. See if we can find a good shelter some distance from Rusthell.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Weaponizing Thralls
« on: September 09, 2012, 11:20:23 am »
Yeah, burning creatures sometimes can't path out of hot tiles because all nearby tiles are too hot.
As for weaponizing thralls, that's redundant. You see, in places where you can get them they're the only problem you face. And, given the WEEKLY is the only frequency token for clouds, you get a lot of husks.
Edit: well if they get [opposed_to_life] but no [not_living] and thus being hostile to each other, it may be of some use to enthrall single axelord and leave him outside. While this wouldn't make aboveground safe (rather foolish desire in evil biomes), it'll at least keep their numbers at bay.

then burn everything down outside so they really cant get a hot tile.
Then let the flaming Husks free.

Flaming husks generate their own heat.
