Probably.

We need weapons, armor, and building materials, so that we can defend ourselves until we have a decent barricade. I recommend a few wooden blocks for workshops and some stone to turn into blocks and mechanisms. Aside from that, we should have plenty of food, seeds, and drink, but only minimal animals. A single cat and a turkey gobbler should be as much animals as we need; maybe two cats. We can ditch a lot of the stuff; we won't be setting up hunting for a while, for instance, so we can probably ditch the quivers, and we only need one battleaxe, if that. Maybe a couple miners, otherwise only bring one pick.

Oh, wait, we're in a half-good biome.
Well, bring enough rock to build a raising drawbridge and a lever to raise it ASAP, that way we can block off the world if a unicorn husk or something shows up.

There's a new dwarf around, called Splint or something like that. He seems interested in wolverines.
Hm...I bet they'd make great pets, and a sheepwolverine has GOT to be better than a sheepdog. Maybe I'll try to convince him to help us capture some of the critters instead of killing them. And then I'll get my own sheepwolverine, one of the pups born here, and then I'll relax in my porcelain fish, because that should be first priority.

Maybe I'll be able to retire to shepherding and weaving and stuff when I grow old. I've always wanted to do that, at least a bit, ever since I was a little dwarf and saw a herd of sheep.

We only have three maybe 4 people we want to bring with us each mission anyhow.  Besides, a smaller strike team is going to have the best missions.  Behind enemy lines killing important people.  A large team will just get us turned into a meat paste product.
We have five mercs, plus ourself. Anyways, if all 5-6 can pull their own weight and then some, more hands make the lead fall lighter. (More people means each of us is being fired at less, and our enemies are getting fired at more, which means that our advantage would only increase, probably exponentially, as the battle wore on.)

You would only be removing Laser turrets on top and bottom.

You still have some heavy Gauss cannons on the front, able to do a good amount of damage.
Well, since I seem to be losing anyhow...wait, laser cannons need ammunition?

Meh, I'll concede. Take the A7, do what you want with the weaponry. We can always get another ship later.

I suspect you killed someone important and the rest skedaddled.

Maybe, barkeeps will knock a little off your tab if you find a way to get rid of some rowdy guests?
Maybe you could flash your sword, maybe slip something unsavory into their drink(a use for the buckets of venom shops sell), or you release their horses and let the guard deal with em.

"Hey, swordlver, you're running up quite a tab. I'll cut it in half if you deal with those noisy drunkards."
(sounds of slashing and people drinking harder)
"...That was a little overkill."
"You sed tha' if I cut'm in half, you'deal w' my tab..."
"Note to self: Wait for sobriety before dealing with adventut=rers."

Try trading them wood. That should help.

I think you're misunderstanding Zivilin.

I always thought we could first conquer a backwards african country, then start selling drugs and stuff while exploiting the locals.

Pros: Realistic, only needs weapons and plane tickets.
Cons: Those natives have guns too. And the UN will be angry with us, but even Assad doesn't care about that.
We could get some agents in the UN, have them booze up all of the other UN so they never judge us.
Better idea: Conquer some country ruled by horrible dictators that the US hates, then run it well. We'll get plenty of wealth and positive PR.
Perfect!
Wait, someone agrees with me?

Wait, we'd need to remove the weapons to get enough room to put all our mercs inside?

Arenadwarves (and probably normal ones) do fine without quivers, they just hold the bolts in one hand.

Neat. I might have to try something like this, to get a feeling for this kind of short-term interaction thingies.

Maybe you could make a necromancer's workshop which takes an onyx gem and a corpse (preserved reagent), and gives the dwarf the temporary ability to animate the dead? No, wait, the zombie would be embedded in the workshop and not able to roam free, wouldn't it...

Hmph. Silty clay loam? That's not nearly enough clayey to make so much as earthenware, and if we're going there we might as well just make it from stone! Unless we can import some good ol' kaolinite, which I must ask to be done next time the traders roll around, we're not going to be able to get any porcelain.
I wonder if the miners have dug out the area yet. If should probably have at least 100 square Urists of pasture, that's enough for half a dozen sheep. Probably, that'll be on the top, so...four or five Urists high and 15-20 on a side should be plenty of room. But think, my dream might come true!
I'll tell them that if I get a bedroom and such in the fish, there'll be a nearby shepherd AND we won't need as much porcelain.
