Well, your tests prove that PRONE_TO_RAGE makes thieves fight. It makes sense; most wild animals run away from dwarves, but when badgers get enraged they attack anything that's not another wild animal.

The pick idea is very nice indeed, I kinda like the grey color of recruits so if they stay grey that would be awesome. I also very much like the idea of miner warriors, though isn't there somesort of conflict with miners in military?
They'll stay recruit-gray until they get at least Novice level in some unarmed combat skill.
If you have a dwarf who has the mining labor active and has a pick assigned in the militia, there are uniform issues, although there are also workarounds.

And anyway, I compost the apple core in our home compost bin (the county-provided one is used for bones and meat and stuff we don't want to rot right next to our house and attract coyotes).

eat fruits , eat vegetables , eat meat and live healthy .

That just means that we're violating an implied contract with the plant, which really isn't that much better than eating its babies seeing as the contract was...um...this is where the anthropomorphizing analogy breaks down a little, but you get my point.

about the fruit seeds , when humans were living with nature , there was no sewers and humans ate all the apple instead of just chewing around it and dumping the core , so the seeds came out from human with free fertilizer .
