I can’t believe it! We now have two peeple who are both awesome crafters--if you count tanning as crafting, but I suppose you would to be nice, although I guess tanners kinda craft leather. Leather’s not usually a nice thing, but I guess that you could count it as something. Where was I? Oh, yeah, we now have two artificers-is that the right word? I get so sad when I’m not sure if I am saying the right word. It really stinks. Even the presence of this crown can’t cheer me up, although thinking about it does make me feel a lot better now that I think about it. So, now we have not one, but better, TWO people who are great warriors AND who have made these great items! I even told Logem she could use the shield she made if she tanned hides when we needed her to.
The 13th of Galena, a farmer complained about the lack of seeds. This makes me so angry! We’ve got plenty of prickle berry seeds in the stockpiles and such, go and get som yourself! Do you expect me to go grab them and put them in the farm plots for you? Maybe you want me to plant and water them too, huh? Some days I just want to kill everyone!
There’s a sandy area set up and a magma glass furnace and a glassmaker, let’s get some glass industry started! Hooray! Maybe we’ll be able to make nic green stuff made, I like green stuff.
On the 17th of Galena, a thief was seen! I hate thieves, they’re so scary! I send in the milita before the thief can hurt anyone, especially me!

The thief runs across the cortyard, and slashes at the mechanic who’s a husband of a mechanic, and gets punched in the leg reel bad by a recruit...Rigoth! He kicks the thief in the hed, and the thief dies! How proud I am of Rigoth! He’s the pride of this fortress! How I wish everyone could be like Rigoth, so brave and skillful and such.

Several body parts--specifically, four legs and the neck/head bit--were found at the bottom of the deep shaft intended to throw ores and sand down, on top of the Safety Hatch. Also found were a copper pick, damaged clothes belonging to Kosoth, the older miner (forensics suggests that the body parts also belonged to him), and some Levin opals. Fortress Management has chosen to classify his status as “Missing,” but we all know he’s…DEAD! It maks me so sad to think that so grat a creepr could die so suddenly and for no reson!
[Editor’s Note: One moment, he was walking along near the pit, with the camera following him, the next I was moving down the map until I stopped one z-level above the bottom. Weird.]
Then, the other miner fell down and exploded and we KNEW both were dead! It maks me so depresd…

So, thoughts? I just killed three miners this turn, one of whom died in an avoidable accident. All three died while preparing the magma forging area. What do you think? Is GreatWyrmDiamond competent to run Caverncrept? I hope so, my cistern isn’t very near completion…

funny thing... i moded out slade by mistake on my personal mod... i had a neat surprise when i pierced the depths.
not sure if it picked a random material or if it's something i can reproduce, will have to try again in another world genned with the same raws

I think others have reported it. Beware, this means you can accidentally mine into Hell!

They can make metal mechanisms. As for wood, it's hard to shape into delicate forms like gears while still having strength, and they get laughed at if they try.

Why do dwarves shun elves? Their ethics are similar, except for the whole "eating people" thing; elves and dwarves should see each other as the best friends they have!

No, not really. Also, space doesn't work that way. Especially in atmosphere, trace as it may be.
We were thinking of having an "air tank" body part or something like that that lets you breathe.

I'm guessing tiaras are a custom kind of hat, which would suggest armoring was increased. Also, he referred to him as an armorer.

There's a thousand reasons it might kill me. If it came to close to me or vise versa, it might get spooked and bite me, leading to an incurable infection. It might be an evil creature that just looks like a chinchilla. It might be a warbeast of goblins or kobolds, and lead to me getting my skull bashed in or my eye stabbed out. It might have rabies. I might get distracted while walking, keeping an eye on it, and trying not to think of all the ways it could kill me and accidentally walk off a cliff. It's just safety.
Also, I do not have the "danger-estimating" part of my brain functioning yet.

There's only a couple dozen types of weapons known in the dwarven universe. Imagine if only a couple dozen names could be used; you'd probably have the same name as several of your classmates and friends, not to mention larger groups.

Who wants to ask a question without having to answer one?
