Ah, I see now. The psychological manipulation isn't nice, but it's a bit better than just insulting someone.

Do you mean that players who work hard to get legendary dwarves should be rewarded, or that legendary dwarves themselves should be rewarded for THEIR hard work? The first point doesn't make much sense (except for some non-moodable skills, like beekeeping [part of the reason I thought the beekeeping legendary feat should be cooler than most]), since the player can just run a fortress until they get a mood or work a dwarf hard. The second is a pretty good point--"I worked all my life to become the best mason in the world, and THIS is all I get?" (Of course, this might mean that Legendary status should be harder to get outside of moods...)

Maybe an ethic-type token would be better. E.g. [ETHIC:DISCRIMINATE_RACE:X] and [ETHIC:JUDGE_OTSIDER_BY_OWN_LAW:X] (along with DISCRIMINATE_CLASS, DISCRIMINATE_GENDER, etc).

Of course, there's a few things that DO destroy seeds. I'd advise disabling cooking on the new hermit's crops.
Also, rotate crops. Plump helmets and pig tails work well; they provide food, clothes, and two kinds of alcohol.

Again, the THEORY is that a legendary dwarf is legendary because of the feats, not the other way around. I think I agreed that some sort of waiting period between "Legendary Skill!" and "Ooh, legendary powers!" would make sense.

And, DwarfMeister...I appreciate the support, but...I don't really get your point either. If you can't explain yourself better, please don't make the supporters of this idea look like...welll, people who can't explain themselves clearly.

How is my post unclear? Perhaps, if you gave me an example, I would make it more understandable for you.

Heh. I looked at the thread name, looked at the author, and prayed that this idea wasn't as stupid as it sounds. That said, I think that there are people who would be driven away by the stupid title, so I'd advise changing it to something like "Oil as lubricant."

I lik this idea. The only problem is, the oil would have to be applied to minecart tracks. Since the dwarf would probably need to be on, or at least adjacent to, the tracks, accidents could occur. (Since oil is flammable, magma shotguns and such could turn those into !!accidents!!.)

I MEANT that there are things that are NOT INTENDED to happen in Masterwork, like the turrets blowing up for no reason or adamantine spires. For these things, it's good to check, "Say. is this supposed to happen in Masterwork?" There's not going to be a new subforum for every mod. So, yeah, we should get Meph to explain some of the stuff, but there's not a lot we can do but PM him every time we see a thread whose OP is confused about a Masterwork feature.
(And "total conversions" are still mods of DF if they use the same base code as vanilla but aren't. Just semanticking you.)

I discovered the same. Or, rather, I tried to add the STERILE tag to a couple castes of a creature and discovered that it doesn't work.

I agree. I'm sorta surprised it isn't a creature tag.
