Zita knows enchanting...
Also, Vulpa too knows enchanting.
So they do.

It doesn't need to be grounded. Bolt hits balloon. Balloon gets hole. Airship greets ground at extremely high speed.
What part of "you need gravity-magic and wind-magic gemstones, but nothing to make a baloon from" made you think it was any kind of blimp/zeppelin?

We mean an airship as in a literal flying ship.
Maybe call it a cloudship, to reduce confusion?

Yeah.... we're building a village not trying to become bandits. If we start raiding people then we're toast. If we can build it then so can cities and they can make more of them faster. As a cargo ship it's good. As a weapon it becomes a giant bullseye on our backs.
Indeed.
And if we make some before anyone else thinks to, we've got an advantage. Make a few, plus a cloudport, and we could make our little town the future hub of trade worldwide as long as we kept our secrets.

Will: We aren't in Kansas anymore, Dorothy.

when Kyle suggests that the appropriate placement for a USB slot of a fembot is her crotch, it doesn't sound like a joke, but actually very much in character
Indeed.

Weaponized ignorance, which means that means that everyone is vulnerable to her charms. Lyle? He could go on a date with Lily if she rolled well for her powers. As would ICARUS, Selina, Maria, Conny, Izzy, Abraxus, Will, Pestilence, Alice, Blossom, Marie, Death, Ra, Dumah and pretty anyone else.
...
Good Lord. We have a 239 situation here.

2. You have seen Gurren Lagann? Lily's powers would not look out of place in the show.
Or in a WAAAGH.

I know. It was joke about the whole light-darkness duality they have going on.
I know.

((Okay, that's it. I'm not going to take this nigh-invisible shade of blue any longer.))
"No. All of my emotions are coupled to an internal timer that lets them slowly decrease in severity over time. In other words, I can calm down. I will put the memory of this emotion in a low priority folder, and by tomorrow, it will be so insignificant that the emotion will be deleted completely. I find this solution more desirable than harming you, especially since acting out on my violent desires against you will activate a reward routine, triggering a learning process. Harming things to vent frustration will become a standard response, and that is not the kind of personality I desire to develop."
"That's very mature of you."

"Do you think I should apologize to Bismuth? She seemed very agitated when I suggested that her life feels no purpose. It makes me feel sorry for causing a negative emotion in her."
"That is the paradigm for such situations..."

Quote
"Simultanously however, I feel agitated by her claim that her life serves a purpose. Neither mine, nor Bismuths, nor Neferis existance serves a purpose, but I do not feel that this is necessarily a thing to get agitated about. Claiming that her life has purpose, despite no such purpose existing occurs to me as a childish act to elevate herself over me in an attempt to deal with her own existential doubt that comes with the realisation that you are insignificant. I find it insulting. I do not know which feeling to prioritize."
"Well, first off, you did something wrong by agitating Bismuth, so you should apologize for that regardless of why you did it. Secondly...well, many people, recognizing that there is no higher purpose to life, create a purpose for themselves. Might I suggest you start considering what yours is?"

"A purpose is what you were created to do. Anything you chose by yourself is just a decision on how to use your time, it's procrastination."
"Incorrect. And even if it was correct, once you start thinking and acting for yourself, you start creating yourself. The Will you see here today is as much a result of the work of Will as it was of his parents."

Just to field my future plans: I desire, as a pirate captain on land, an airship. I believe this to be advantageous to the team because it is awesome (plus also means we get significantly increased mobility.)
A list from the GM of required resources reveals:

1 Ship of desired size
40-160 Opals (Wind)
40-160 Moonstones (Gravity)
3 Large Mana Batteries
75,000 Mana (Which is why the Large Mana Batteries are needed)
1 Blueprint of Airship (You do have an inventor with you)

All help would be appreciated. And if I ever see a jeweler who specialises in opals/moonstones, I'm robbing them. Just saying.
Well, I can definitely help with the blueprints. But...yeah, enchanting the jewels is going to be a bit of a pain. I should probably learn that little trick at some point.

Heh probably. I plan to just find a spellstone that contains a dragon. Who needs an Airship when you have a dragon to ride?
1. People who don't have a steady supply of meat/etc to feed it?
2. People who want to be able to be in the air at all hours of the day?
3. People who want to be able to fly across deserts or oceans, not just places you can find streams for the dragon to drink?
4. People who don't want a single lucky shot to send them plummeting to the ground suddenly?
5. People who want to take cargo places?
6. People who want to take passengers?
7. People who want to be able to upgrade/alter their ride later?
Not to say that dragonriding isn't cool, or that it doesn't have its uses, but it just can't be used for the purposes of an airship.

I can point out an airship weakness.

Thunder storm.
Why? It's not grounded, lightning wouldn't be an issue. Unless you made the whole thing out of metal or something, I guess. And even then, it would be directed around anything of value inside.

3. For Americans, at least, the index finger is one, the middle finger and index finger makes two, add the ring finger for three, pinky makes four, and the thumb is the fifth.
Also, I wasn't entirely serious.

"Interesting. I wonder what I could do with this..."

Locate some rocks/pebbles. Take them to my room. Repeat until I have a pretty good number of them. Use Clayform to lump rocks together until I have a chunk of stone about as big as my head, then rest until any aftereffects have faded. Once I have done so, use Clayform to shape the rock into the form of...
"Hm. What should I make this?"
Ekoka glances around the room, his eyes falling on the books.
"Might as well start with something...relatively simple."
...into the form of a book, partly open.

Don't take the long, multi-Clayform route if I can do all this with one casting of the spell.

Seeing as Earth is the planet the alien base is on, you might want to think twice about that kind of strategy.

Xan and monstrosity fuse into one giant monster? Now you've said that, its going to go terribly wrong.

Why is four so bad? It's the second-lowest square, and adding its square root to itself makes it.
It sounds like ' death' in Chinese.
Aside from superstition.

Why is four so bad? It's the second-lowest square, and adding its square root to itself makes it.
As far as single digit numbers go, four is fairly boring.  It's even, and small, not a prime number, and it's a little annoying to count with.  Which is exacerbated by the fact that it's just below five, a nice practical number.
But probably the most important reason is that I count in binary when I count with my fingers.  A finger being up is 1, down is 0.  Try counting to four on one hand in binary.
1. Why are odd numbers superior?
2. There are only two single-digit squares. I'd say that, in 4's neighborhood, being a prime number isn't much of an achievement. And five is overrated.
3. It's not that hard to hold up a ring finger.:P

I just realized, since Will is in a stable, monogamous relationship, does this mean that Lily flirts with everyone? And with her powers...
Indeed she does.
What am I missing about her powers?

I haven't really played Magic the Gathering, but don't you start out with 20 life?
Yup. Most creatures only deal 1-3 damage or so; dragons start at 5 and go up; and a whole crapton of creatures can do a crapton of damage.

Of course it is. Why else would we be so excited about Mirror!Lily?
1. Mirror!Lily would be Will, because Lily is Mirror! Will.
2. I don't get the connection.

Mirror!ICARUS is... an overly emotional dryad, I guess. Or whatever the male version of a dryad is.
Treant? Satyr? I'd go with treant, because they--like ICARUS--don't really have a gender.
Also, ICARUS is smaller than people and treants are larger.

On the subject of Mirror!People, Mirror!Ester is obviously Tobias, and Mirror!Tobias is obviously Ester. :P
Eh. They have some similarities. And I'd say that the Mirrors' relationships would be more or less the opposite of the reals' relationships.

[To: Luna] <That's perfectly understandable, I doubt he wishes to speak to you either for that matter. Come to think of it, how do you consider Selina? As a friend or family member? Or simply as someone you know?>
[reply]<Honestly? I consider her my little, incredibly opposite sister... who I may want to try and bang someday to get her over it.>
That is wrong in so many ways.

Kyle makes a mental note to have the council move the drive and port to a more tactically sound area. Like... her arm pit and her pubic region. Is it technically a pubic region? ... Just gonna call it the area below the waist on the torso.
...
I'm going to pretend you mean you're putting the USB port in the armpit so I don't have to think of a joke.

"Self-improvement was from the very start one of my primary directives. I don't want to disappoint you, but your very human point of view is naturaly biased to interpret events in favour of itself. My drive for improvement has always been in my focus. The same can only be said about 10% of all humans, perhaps less."
"All humans have that drive, it's just that only a few succeed to your specifications."

"If you wish you may harm me. Everybody does sometimes."
"For example:"
Will demonstrates. Gently.
"Don't cause any major pain or permanent injury and you should be fine. Oh, and hit above the belt. Not doing so is just unsportsmanlike."

"ICARUS, if you're having problems coming to terms with emotion, why don't you chat with other people some? Even humans don't have the emotion thing figured out 100%, but you don't really need to. This isn't rocket science. It's not sensitive to change, nothing's going to happen if you make a little mistake, you really can just wing it."

I am aware. Pointing my nose at the purple mark and burning didn't just give me a periapsis below 70km, it gave me a periapsis below 0 km.

I did consider giving all occupied tiles +1 defence merely for being settled, but I'm not sure about that. What do people think?
I though defense only applied to settled hexes?
I'm pretty sure it does.

Anyways. Expand 5.
