Recently, I lost my fortress to invaders for the first time.
They were kobolds. Granted, this was after a necromancer sent a few undead which killed a bunch of dwarves, and before I could get past my aquifer, AND they sent a squad of bowbolds and one of spearbolds, compared to my lack of a militia at all, but still...kobolds.

What's something embarassing that's happened to your fortress?

Personally, I like the new, flat-rate system. I don't feel any kind of need to have a single legendary miner.
Then again, for some reason my one fort that does have one miner keeps having weird accidents happen to him, and only him. Dropping a staircase on himself, having mugs dumped on hs head, weird stuff like that.

As horrible as the idea of ads in DF is, I do kind of want to see somebody try, just so we can see professionally made adverts with code page 437 graphics. It could be either hilarious or incredible, depending on how well they do it.
"Horrible" doesn't have an a, an o, or an s. You spelled it wrong.

Alright, I've got two tracks, one to dump wood down a hole from my aboveground stockpile and one to bring a cart of crafts to a stockpile by my depot. Aside from a broken finger resulting from clumsy garbage dump designations whilst clearing out the destination stockpile, nothing really went awry (the dwarves don't seem to want to empty it, though); however, the minecart on the surface isn't being filled. Is there something I'm missing?

Can everything be reached from the soap maker's shop? No screwed-up ramps or flooded tunnels or anything?

Are the items fairly close to the soaper's? There's a bug with that.

a. Those aren't hauling to stockpiles. Wheelbarrows only work with stockpiles--you have to specially assign them to them.
b. Not to my knowledge, if you don't want to use minecarts.
c. Anything that's not hauling stuff to a stockpile, I believe.
d. I'm not sure why you think they could carry multiple logs. 1 tree=1 log.
e. Once you have the inclination and the infrastructure.
f. Maybe?

Maybe the rock nut oil needs to be in a barrel? Let me check...no, that's not it.

I've never gotten around to using rock nut oil. Maybe you could try tallow?

Are you sure it's the weapon trap? If you built the trap on a boulder, that would block wagons.

Oddly enough, nothing is happening. I tried to fix up some bugs or errorlogs or whatever you want to call them. I created a creature called a violet peafowl to meet my ressurection fix until then.

On a serious note, I've figured a way to implement this suggestion without beng rediculous:

Have ambushes sometimes bring mounts.

With the way things are going with this thread, it's surpriing that ANYBODY is taking this (somewhat) seriously...

The goblins have been outcast because it is illegal to ride a "motohog" (whatever the HELL that is) in Goblin City (noise violation)...
If you think about it, human bandits sound like a good idea, but elves? Come on man!!!
Motohog is a pun, or play on the words. (Motor + hedgehog)
HEDGEhog? That's really weird.

We really need to get a team together to locate all of the issues that can be fixed by modding (such as those mentioned in this thread, adipose tissue having the properties of fat, etc), and then create a mod that fixes them.

Then test it.
