I'm starting to feel like humans are OP, at least early game.
They definitely are, now that I think about it. It's like they're two colonies that just have to start on the same tile.

"Um... I... I don't kn-know Angel... y-you could tr-try finding s-s-someone else...? O-or just sp-sp-spend a f-f-f-few days calming down...? Spend t-time with friends...?" Selina has no idea how to deal with this sorta thing, especially with Angel being heterosexual.
((Is there that much of a difference?))
"Who else is there? Everyone else is a lot older than me."

- everyone is so powerful, combat is almost arbitrary. enemies may seem overpowered, but really, that's what it takes to avoid them being blasted to bits almost immediatly. It's magical girls fighting evil - just talking evil out of it kinda destroys any suspension of disbelieve. Ra just folding like that, Dumah rather easily agreeing with simply letting Shysm go... Sometimes things just do what they want because they can, and have little reason to actually listen to you in the first place. Imagine WW2 as a plot. Hitler had the army to start a war, wanted to start a war, and it took an enormous effort to put an end to that - and sometimes the effort is what the PCs have to do. When an enemy is too strong to simply blast to pieces, finding a way is what goes - and nope, just talking hitler out of that kinda stuff was not really an option.
On the other hand...well, you kinda hit the nail on the head there. To deal with Dumah, Shys'm just had to go with them. There wasn't any good way to deal with them--and since the game was being run by rag, there was nothing any of us could really do to change that.
The enemies in my planned plot are in the happy medium--they're not so weak they'll fall immediately, but they also aren't so strong that you have literally no choice but to go along with what they want.

- contrived plot devices..I am not sure which one you mean. Haven't seen many McGuffin things around yet, except maybe the Menhir thing - and that wasn't too bad. That being said, is this not a game of tropes? A bit cliche wont hurt. I am suprised nobody did any *find the 7 crystals of McGuffinness* yet, and wouldn't even complain if they do
. nothing bad with cliche
You misunderstand me. I'm talking more about...well, this is more or less what I'm concerned about. Things that don't make logical sense, but happen.

- hehe, leaving a mark on the game afterwards is what I am aiming at. it's a bit problematic, because frankly, most characters are kinda like teflon. they simply don't care. Best example is Kyle, I guess, but Jaque is also a good example. The characters simply don't quite care enough, because usualy they are simply too strong and, excuse me, too flattly written to care. And of course when you try to actually *make* them care, you get instantly bitched at for doing so. I am pretty sure that whatever you have planned will leave a lot less of an impression on everyone than you originaly planned - as far as storytelling goes, rotmg is a difficult medium, like trying to grow algae in vinegar rather than water. I am sure it will be exactly the same thing for me too, which is why I am already contacting players to connect their characters to the plot
Sometimes, to make a difference you need to not give them a choice. Do something that changes the world around them. Destroy/Conquer their hometown, maybe. Or connect to one of their motivations, something they want to do that they haven't been able to.

((I'm not, I'm just saying that I want the amount he was blasting them to be coherent with the rules you set up.
And that I was a bit uncertain about the origin of the blasting.))

Well, You do have mana. And gems. And the Enchanter Profession.
Oh yeah.

5212
I certainly hope to. At the least, I won't be running overpowered monsters, using contrived plot devices, or not leaving any mark on the game afterwards.

5213
((Oh. I thought that was from the roll.

Next time, maybe.))

KJ stops trying to format this like a movie script as it's more trouble than it's worth.
GreatWyrmGold is amused by this quitter attitude[/i]

[Will enters stage left]
Will: Great. Couldn't have even been one of the good ones.

[Angel enters stage left]
Angel: Where are we?
Nuriel's Voice: Hell if I know.
[Note: Nuriel's actor should be just offstage whenever Angel's actor is onstage, saying the lines of Nuriel's Voice. The reverse applies when Nuriel is onstage and Angel's Voice has lines.]

5215
((Will has 5 Strength, not 0 Strength.
And if I'm not going to get bonuses for in-depth arguments I probably shouldn't bother. I'll try to limit them to two paragraphs.

Finally, why does Kyle being shamed as a pervert have any effect? Are you saying that there are people who know Kyle without knowing this?))

Will turns briefly to Mrs. Brandenburg. "First off, Claudia, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Kyle may be more prolific, but I think your grandmother would be ashamed about what you've been doing with her other descendants. Second off, this whole discussion is ad hominem and quite out of place. Third...
Will turns to Reed.

Counterargument boosted with 20 mana (if it deals more damage than a full, AoE argument) or Argument boosted with 25 mana (if not)

"Firstly, the ICARUS is clearly not a fully dedicated combat unit. If it was, why was it programmed to perform tasks such as preparing food and creating toys, however shoddy, for children? Why give it any such abilities at all, or even a humanoid form? Wouldn't a few turrets on a hovering, boxy platform be more efficient? In addition, you are completely ignoring nearly my entire argument, which pointed out that emotions are actually helpful to combat. Replace the smiley face in your argument with a scope and your analogy is more accurate."

"Ms. Bradenburg. As I'm sure you know that you're ignoring the fact that ten of those cases were inconclusive and the other three were known to lie a cajole to get further in the company. I'm also sure that you remember when you attempted to funnel money from the pockets of our company for your new ferrari. I'm sure you also remember the cases of harassment against you from many of the male staff for verbally abusing them, threatening them, and on one occasion assaulting one for a perceived threat."
"Don't encourage her."

"Selina? If Maria said she didn't like you, what would you do?"
<Sleep with one of her other girlfriends? Or all at once?>
"You're not helping, Nuriel."
<Yeah, I suppose you don't have anyone else to rebound to. Maybe Kyle.>
"Eww."
<Yeah, but he's good in bed.>
"Not what I meant."
<...Do I want to know the context of those statements?>

just wait until my plot goes on. it has 12 chapters. the first chapter alone is in 3 parts
Why is it so long? :P
He wants to be one of the cool kids.

Remember, Akroma, it's not the size of the plot, it's how you use it. I could probably describe my plot in only 2-3 sentences, but it will doubtless do at least two neat RP things no other plot has.

Carl could always enchant a weapon once I'm done giving him his stuff. Oh, speaking of which. any preference for weapon? I didn't really think of anything to give an enchanter as a weapon :/
Rechecking my character sheet, I was evidently thinking of something else when I thought I gave him Enchanting. He just has Tinkering, Inventing, Blacksmithing, and Carpentry.
And as to a weapon, hammer works. Or an axe, but I don't think axes are used in carpentry so much as woodcutting.

Do imaginary numbers count? Or non-integers?
Are imaginary numbers between 1 and 100?
I don't know, are they?

Limited market? Lack of communication between Team Ico and Valve? Trying to preserve the mystique of the game?

As best I can tell it's made of undead flesh. Which should be flammable.
Black biometal, maybe?
