That sounds like something that should be mentioned on the suggestion forums.

Hm, it seems a lot of these have to do with stealth. According to this "survey" and an enjoyable read through TV Tropes's Artificial Stupidity page, it seems that video game characters don't like stealth much. Interesting, maybe the robot apocalypse won't be so terrifying.

I'd add some new stupidity, but my most recent worlds have been buggy or human-deprived.

On one hand, just telling ogres to use the goblin tounge didn't help. On the other hand, the game could well be using Ogre without ogres actually speaking ogre. The tests go on.

EDIT: Holycarp, there's a BIG errorlog! Everything seems to be wrong...I'll get back to you once I sort out the tyops.

DF Suggestions / Re: Make vampires feed on the weak (fortress mode)

Ah, I see, you think vampires should have a tendancy towards being discreet, and that other personality traits should weigh in heavily...sensible.

DF Suggestions / Re: [ENJOYS_TORTURE]

Would there be a way to make it so it was no longer an entire civ/ethnic/creature related token but given on an individual basis?  Also could this be a side effect of evil biomes/spheres in that creature born and raise here become steadily more devious over the generations/time spent there.

That would be personality-based, which is where I believe it belongs.

To say that every single creature of a species shares the exact same psychological trait is a little strange, in general.

I think that the idea was for night creatures, which are rare enough that likely only a handful would enjoy torture, and would be raised by torture-loving parents, and are also Monsters of the Night.

It's all hardcoded.

Savages' Stronghold, version 0.21, has been released! It has blood hulks, minotaurs, and no shovils. Oh, and I modified some of the ogrish language--just the stuff within the first little bit, before I grew sick of it.

The annoying legends-crashing-when-vieweing-historical-figures bug is still present. A demon wrote First The Book, a book about a flying-squirrel-man-leather-bound book named Setrub Frostconfused, which was written in a "thoroughly mechanical" style and bound in blood-magik (the stuff you get when you sacrifice an ogre). (Setrub Frostconfused was  one of the demon's first books, and was a "rigid and quite cruel" autobiography. Weirdo.) I wonder if we'll be seeing book bindings vaporise and turn necromancers into blood hulks any time soon? The same demon wrote "The Artifact: Fact or Fiction?," a thornback-ray-leather book which was mechanical AND cruel in describing Dentedstubble: Before and After, which was "as vicious as can be" and bound in tsavorite. This guy was a harsh self-critic. Other notable books by the same author concerned death, including one bound in bogeyman leather and one bound in "eyeless monster" leather. Cool, no?

I'd share other neat tales from worldgen, but it seems to keep collapsing (with no errorlog!), so I'd appreciate it if someone would glance in the raws (especially creature_ogre, especially at the blood hulk) to see if they can see any obvious issues. Wait a sec, maybe it's the language crap?

DF Suggestions / Re: Nudity Ethics

Sensible. Of course, there have been IRL examples (of varying debatability, so it's probably best if I don't name them) of when peoples' ethics have lead them to make less-than-rational choices.

I upgraded; maybe the crashing was a problem with my "copy" of DF or something having to do with a bug that got fixed. Hopefully. I know I said I'd upload a new version before changing, but I'm adding a minotaur civ first.

I still say it sould vary. Some try to avoid notice, some go mad with power and kill the best, some sneakily elliminate those of higher station, some just suck whoever's nearby.

...Somehow that just sounds wrong, if taken out of context.

Flying Dice: Hm, maybe that could work...

Jilladilla: No, but it steals babies. Does that change anything?

Avolakias are something I've wanted to mod into DF ever since I discovered that necromancers were being added. Also, it's not like anyone else suggested something. Maybe I could go with something simple, though, like giants...lesser giants or something...maybe de-semimegabeast minotaurs and use them...

Coldmonkey: Goblins hate dwarves, too. Also, I'm not sure how to mod how much material it takes to use stuff without custom reactions and the honor system. I believe that the "social retardation" stuff could work; I'll look into that.

Back on track. I've got the blood hulks added. I discovered that the world I generated was crash-prone, such as when I tried to view historical figures or sites in Legends mode or tried to do...much of anything in Adventure Mode, although I didn't try much. The blood hulks are still a bit buggy, but they're good enough for now.
I also removed the shovils for now, to see what you all say, and increased the output of praying for or requesting wood somewhat, in compensation. I advise embarking on caves.

I'd like it if some people would let me know how their strongholds are going and if they have any suggestions. For instance, if they think playable dwarves should be removed, which would make things MUCH easier.

It's alright to ramble on. I ramble all of the time. Whenever my brain gets working, it overthinks stuff, and I like to write all of tha out. Both of these points go double for DF suggestions and such.

Back on topic, this seems like a decent idea, although the title scared me. Another idea: Maybe megabeasts could come to mutually beneficial agreements with civs--say, a dragon offers to help protect a mountainhome from invading goblins in exchange for food, gold, shelter, and not getting killed by the dwarves.

I understand if you want to leave me to develop my mod in peace, but if no one else posts responses to my ideas, I tend to assume tha no one cares, which hurts my feelings...*sniff.*

Anyways, on a different topic, as soon as I get my blood hulks working and add in the neat process by which they are made, then probably tinker around some, I'll release the next version and update to DF 0.34.07.

TV Tropes. I read about it; it seemed like a charming game. I followed a link to the wiki, wiki walked everywhere, downloaded a few months after first geting hooked on reading about it (0.31.16, IIRC). And here I am now.
