Forum Games and Roleplaying / Re: Jundial, Land of Beginnings, OOC
« on: February 15, 2014, 12:19:05 am »
I don't care about trust. Would I like you to trust me? Sure. But thats not a major issue right now we've barely met so I don't expect it.
Then why do you expect us to follow the unspoken plan of someone we don't trust or know?

Quote
You realize if somebody would take 3 seconds to ask we could have avoided hours of this conversation. Instead of everybody just blaiming me for not sharing the information.
We've been over this. We don't trust you and your hypothetical unknown plan. Why should we? Not everyone likes using OOC knowledge, you idiot.

But I did say something. I asked for people with magic to come to me. Which I point out none of those with magic actually did. Another case of being ignored. I literally said I needed help from people with magic. It's even in the quote.
"Hey! Guys with elemental magic! Come over here!"
Helpful. And it's really going to make us trust your planning abilities when one of the next things you say is "You guy with lightning magic, back off!"

Quote
I did my part. I tried to warn you. I tried to help you. You all shot me down. I asked for help. You all shot me down again. I said I had a plan and after you all ignored me when I wanted to explain you now want me to explain it?
You didn't explain it. Not until we forced you to.

Nope but it all comes back to the same point. You lot want to know the plan but not 1 of you is willing to actually ask me. How am I the one being unreasonable when my every request and attempt to help has been ignored?
Again, we have no reason to trust the plan you never shared us.

Quote
Theres 10 players here and I'm the only one who's actually tried to work together.
You aren't trying to work together. You're trying to force us to do the working-together for you.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are trying to play our characters, who don't know that Alexandria has a plan.

Quote
Let's look at things.
GWG is running away.
Yes, the unarmed craftsman with no magic, weapons training, or even a weapon is going to be so much help in the fight.
I don't think you were roleplaying Torban as an idiot anymore.

Quote
I've used the knowledge we've got to figure out how to fight it and tried to share it with you.
No, you haven't. You've asked our characters to follow your character's plan blindly, and OOC demanded that our characters follow said unstated plan.
And you claim you're not trying to be a leader.

If I don't get the appropriate sorry and boot licking after this all of you are sharing a stone at the bottom of the ocean :p. Just think!
Eternity trapped with Kyle!!!!!
If you demand this you had better be prepared for PVP and I don't think you can hope to bind us all before we kill you.

And just think: This argument could have probably been avoided if Sanure had just given the fucking hints in-character!

Torban growls.

"I tried to tell you before it woke up. If you ungrateful little swine ever listened then you would have known."
"You just told us to run, then to come over and use elemental magic. You also claimed to have a plan. You didn't actually tell us your plan at the time, emphasized more by how you're now telling some of us to do different things!"

Two people.
Technically, I'm not complaining, just pointing out that he's trying way too hard. And not really making sense.

This plot basically didn't do anything to anyone besides making a quest happen.
True. Then again, more or less true of depressingly many plots.

The MT-IVc has eleven new struts on the final stage, which should help counteract the shaking. It more or less works as intended, although shifting to the angled ascent is difficult as the handling is absolutely horrible. And the game crashed again. What the--

Huh. It saved right before the launch. Anyways, the re-launch is much the same, with catastrophic loss of control leading to us rocketing down for a bit. We go from a bit over 10 km to a bit over 5 km before we start ascending again. And the game crashed again. Maybe I should stop alt-tabbing while escaped.

The next test works. We manage to nudge it into an angle with little difficulty. We get a 70-km apoapsis as soon as the penultimate stage drops. More problems come up. The level-flight is screwed up, we don't really get the burn started until after apoapsis. We fall for a bit before getting under control, and a new apoapsis. We end up with a highly elliptical orbit, apoapsis just over 6,600 km and periapsis just under 22.4 km. We orbit out a few (in-game) hours.
And then I discover that I cannot re-activate the burn to circularize the orbit. I try to disengage the stage to activate the last form of thrust I might have, and discover that I can't do that either. And yes, this was zoomed-in, not the orbital map. I abandoned the potentially excellent orbit to return homeward.

Then I decide to try turning off SAS and discover that that's the problem. Such a shame. (By which I mean: GODDAMMIT WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT EARLIER?!?)

The orbit decays. I land. Seven hours, nineteen minutes. Good flight, Herming. Good flight.

Why do people here, more so than other games, share feelings with and project onto their characters?
Its a long running RP and people have had more time to connect to their characters.
Pretty much. I was feeling a bit down in the Angel/Alistair stuff.

5286
Will also teleports to Selina.
"...Hi Angel...Am I interrupting something?"
"I'm sad."
"...I'm sorry to hear that?"

Closing his eyes Torban slowly starts to float as electricity crackles across his body leaving burns in it's wake, grunting in pain he focuses his mind on the rest of the team sending the same short message into the minds of the other 10 along with a picture of empty graves and a feeling of urgency.
Return fast to the caravan. Great danger is approaching.
Torban looks around.
If you can use elemental magic come here if not then keep it off my back. I have a plan.

Now do you see why I might be annoyed?
Yes, but I only agree for the first. Which was more or less followed.

In this case? Pride. I'll let the apolagy slide entirely but explaining things isn't going to happen without me being asked.
And that's kind of unreasonable for Torban to decide. Is he really going to risk his life for the sake of obstinately forcing the characters to decide to trust him?

Quote
This is so funny. I built this character to be a supporting element but the lack of communication has pretty much left me having to play leader.
Then stop contributing to the problem!

A certain teammate can syphon the mana from the Town Golem, slowing it's Regen down to every 7 turns.
Which one is that?

Quote
You will not beat this boss if you all do not work together. That simple.
We're doomed.

I've pieced all of it together and got the entire plan worked out now. I just need 1 of you to ask me so that I can detail the plan and what I need from all of you. After this is done I'll happily drop off giving orders I have no desire to lead you all.
Yes, because Torban is so stupidly stubborn that he'll risk his whole plan failing because he can't spend five seconds explaining it unless someone asks him to.

5288
Yes, he's the GM.

Mind quoting those posts, Alexandria? I didn't see anything like that.

5291
I'm pretty sure that my first mistake was telling you guys that you couldn't return to the place.
Yup. If you hadn't, I probably wouldn't have cared much about going and we wouldn't interact with your world unless we wanted to see if the Grail would help or if Kyle wanted some elven, as they say, poontang.

5292
((Did Morina act twice?))

Climb up the Armored Man. Kobolds are pretty small and light, and the armored man is pretty big and heavy. It should work.

5293
USEC, USEC, USEC. The more you try to stop me, the more I will try.

Especially since it makes sense IC. He's trying to stop Kyle from completely breaking, so it makes sense to try and reconnect him with Kelyn. Also, he wants to be able to access the Holy Grail if needed.

I have a lot more information no this enemy then the rest of you do.
Oh really.

AGAIN: I will not have Arguments. Bring them up with me. I will not say this again.
I have a problem.
You are mistaking a tactical argument for people saying something is wrong with...something you're doing?

Because to explain it would take minutes and IC we have seconds.
Then only say the important part. Something like:
"If we smash the fleshy heart inside it, it'll die! I'll smash open a path to it, attack right after I do!"
Five seconds, tops. Probably still short enough to count as a Free Action.

Allies won't get caught if you will trust me.
The problem is, people don't. And you haven't given anything except your word and your command to get us to do so.
I do, more or less, but since Carl is pretty well a noncombatant that's kinda moot.

Thats actually the same reason I didn't explain earlier IC. Nobody has actually asked me to explain and I've been busy focusing to set this up.
I have a complex plan based on knowledge only I know that requires the cooperation of several other team members...I won't tell them anything!
Are you intentionally roleplaying an idiot?

The main reason I'm not stating it IC is you have not ASKED ME.
I have tried to communicate, I have tried to explain. You ignored me. I'm not going to just decide in the middle of a battle to try again without somebody asking me to. You want to know IC? Then ask me.
I'm not the only person here theres 9 of you. Rather then complaining at me here you could have said 6 simple words IC and I can explain everything I know.
1. Carl is running away.
2. OR, you could realize that no one else knows what you're planning and try to explain anyways.

Lol but you expect me to do it? Double standard much?
There is a difference.
Torban informing everyone else makes sense, because he has a reason to do it (tell these idiots my plan and why it works).
Others asking Torban what he wants them to do or whatever does not, because this requires them to somehow know that Torban has special secret vital knowledge the rest of them don't.

So it's a distraction like a chainmail bikini that one sees so often in games and is?
No. It makes sense.
It's more like a decoy than a distraction, anyways.

Mostly because people haven't asked. Before I end tutorial mode, I want people to be able to work in a team without me holding their hands :/
It's hand-holding to tell us vital information about the boss? And yet it isn't to PM that said information?
Either tell us right at the start because we should know IC, or tell us at the start and handwave it, or don't tell us at all!

Quote
Anyways, heres a hint. Unless you find a way to stop its damage mitigation. You won't be able to deal enough damage to it to make it reveal it's core.
Important Tactical Information Above.

Also, I'm trying to make the two weak links, Alexandria and KJ, to actually work together. Which I'm proud to say they are sorta.
You have a funny definition of "working together"...

5295
Selective of course. Denies all ways in except the one used by the plot.
1. That's pretty cheap.
2. We still have that way.
Correct, but, that way is stated to be rather difficult to use and may require an extended period of time to reactivate.
But reactivate it will!

Furthermore, as it only denies access, it means that people can use their magic inside as long as it isn't to enter or leave.
Your point?
Merely explaining why people could still use their abilities inside the field.
That was never in question.

1. That's pretty cheap.
2. We still have that way.
1. It was made to be cheap.
2. Not anymore.
1. Well, I don't like cheapskates.
2. Where there's a Will with access to a Selina, there are a multitude of ways!

Tobias nods before laying down behind Ester and putting his arm over her natural waist.
Wait, when did she get an artificial waist?
