I guess I am a harsh self-critic. I mean, cave penguins?...

I will take the second turn, unless you finish yours before ~Monday. I won't be able to play until then. Also, be warned that I don't have a lot of hope for the FPS on this thing, as 5x5 is three times the area of my usual embark of 3x3.
AHHH....MATH...TINY BRAIN...IT BURNS!!!!!!!!!
on a side note, i'll go for sixth
Are you sure you're playing the right game?  :D

iton Soakedseals (if you are taking nicknames,"Emeraldwine"), a brewer 2/engraver 4/glassblower 4. Because everyone knows a brewer that likes dwarven wine is best, as is a glassblower who likes green glass.

Dig down to magma and set up a glassmaking industry. No sand? Well, there's always imports...

DF Suggestions / Re: Salty Dog!

Fire men should be destroyed by water rather than the other way around.

Maybe a "dissolves" tag on creature tissues, which makes them take damage if immersed, and one on inorganics, which both causes damage to an object immersed in water and carries over to creature tissues.

and it would be awsome if dragons could still breath fire from cages!
then the -willow cage- would be a !!-willow cage-!!

and we could create dwarven flamethrower
Actually, a dwarven flamethrower is a massive obsidian tube connected to the magma sea via a steel pump stack. It's hell on a dwarf's back, though.

DF Suggestions / Re: Why 7/7 water?
« on: July 21, 2011, 07:33:41 am »
That is about 1/8 the size I always imagined. Maybe dwarven buckets are eight times bigger than you thought?

Also, I think this is the only thread to have been derailed by TWO different tangents and still be talking about the original subject.

Yeah. One fort, I had a noble who liked chicken teeth, which are only twice as common as hens' teeth.

I'd like it if that guy mandated tooth items and not chicken tooth items.

Maybe dwarves could also like chicken parts (especially teeth).

Depends on if they want ash to be realistic or playable.

Or, if you don't want to solve dwarves stupidity with magma, fix it with the in-game stupidity avoider.

JOKE.

Which is why I thereafter included the dense scientific jargon. That, and I like showing off my sesquipedalian loquaciousness.

Screw night creatures and new town development, multiple-z-level designations are my favorite part of the upcoming version and have been ever since Iread about them on the dev page twenty minutes ago!

Why were the migrants not in the caves? And how did your dwarves not become dorfsicles while they mined into the caverns?

You want to know why adamantine has almost impossible characteristics? It's MAGIC. Also probably a defect-free covalently-bonded metal with an unusually negative nucleus and a large amount of the strong nuclear force, along with a polar electron distribution similar to that of water.
