I have had lots of Fun when embarking on caves (usually, my worlds only have one cavern layer) or forts (Just Embark FTW...except for the whole "Quickly Lose, Reclaim  Time" part...), but my favortie example of Fun I've had came in Armorsouls (link in sig as soon as I figure out where the "edit signature" button is), towards the end.

I did not realise that a fort that had once had 16 dwarves, now 15, would be sieged by dark stranglers. Two deaths, both from drowning, and the loss of some masterwork equipment. Biggest problem?
One of the dwarves that died "belonged" to the next player.

I was under the impression that going under two z levels of water, or diving, was instant "DROWNING" status? I've had a bit of a history with beaches and legendary adventurerers ending that way.

One of my adventurers drowned as well, but he had the drowning status for several dozen turns before actually dying. Suppose you get out of water before that?
You would be A-OK. Unless you ran into those carp you added as a joke to the pool and got attacked long enough, of course.

2. Like dwarves and elves are the same size, but dwarves have considerably higher strength, among other differences. I wanted to know how to mass produce elves with with the same modified attributes to match the dwarves.
Pretty much undoable without modding elvish attributes to be the same as dwarvish ones.

Nothing. He could be called an elf for all he cared, as long as elves were also called dwarves. He'd be insulted by being called a dwarf, and all it would take is one extra-long booze break.

What would Urist do if he was a sporeling (Spore, obviously; creature that cab rapidly evolve, more or less, sometimes even change its form depending on the spinoff)?

What wrestlingey moves do you have to do to be able to throw an enemy? I have had...marginal success figuring out this awesome, cool way to kill people.

Actually, in the arena, a BC Adequate hammerman could send neither a human nor a cat flying a single space with an iron hammer. Even a grand master BC with a platinum mace only sent a cavy flying three tiles! Best start a fort and hope for a lucky mood...
(P.S. Said macecolossus could not fling a human back with the mace. After unsuccessfully trying to wrestling-throw him for a few minutes, I just bashed his brains out. Very therapeutic.)

Planned for a while now. Firstly we need to define what materials float and what materials don't. Currently everything sinks.

just thought of something funny...
like a surface fort with wooden walls near the sea, a wave comes, and the walls floats in the sea...XD
Ideally, constructions would remain as unaffected by being submersed in water as they are in magma.

Ideally, objects made of materials less dense than water/magma would float in water/magma, objects more dense would float, and objects just as dense...er...anyone want some real-world !!SCIENCE!!?
