Name: Nylastur
Bio: Once a normal illithid, Nylastur went insane. He decided to be nice to the surface people! Unfortunately, he only knows how to interact with them by blasting them.
Race: Illithid Void Master
Skils: Dodger 2, Fighter 2, Kicker 1.

I prefer flat fort sites, for easier designation of plant gathering and wood chopping.

DF Modding / Re: Collecting Sand
« on: July 04, 2011, 03:17:07 pm »
You could make a custom reaction that puts the sand in the bag, but that would open the door to cheating because you would not actually need sand.

Kinda. If you make a custom reaction that takes a bag and puts sand in it, you are faking the collect sand reaction.
I don't think you can make it require a sandy area past self-imposed restrictions, though.

I meant melee weapons. Sorry for the confusion.

Sad.

Maybe you could make them be in groups like those kobolds or cave-animal-people live in, if that works and is uncivilized enough for you.

DF Modding / Re: which mod in your opinion is the best one?
« on: July 04, 2011, 03:12:32 pm »
I like the interesting cocktail of mods I've got--Fortress Defense, Dwarf Caramel, Wizard Tower, EMMYE, and all of them tinkered with some. I'm trying to figure out how to make wizards and sorcerers embark with wands or their components, but am having little success.

Point is, I mix mods and like the result.

DF Suggestions / Re: More traps/Complex traps
« on: July 04, 2011, 03:01:29 pm »
I always wanted really complex traps like in movies, such as arrows shooting from walls triggered by pressure pads.
Ranged weapon traps.
Quote
Or maybe like a vertical saw blade coming up from the ceiling to slice an invader's head in half.
Largem serrated discs.
Quote
More traps equals more fun, more fun equals more ideas, more ideas equals PROGRESS.
Yes, this is true.
Quote
Also maybe wooden poles that are on fire swinging from the ceiling.
Requires you to make wooden poles as weapons, but doable.
Quote
Or a crusher trap. it would be so cool!
Cavein traps.
Quote
Or maybe traps that kill and demoralize the enemy, like traps that kill in a arbitrarily painful/bloody process (e.g: releasing a water bucket filled with dangerous carp on a goblin that had its feet cut off by spinning saw blades.)
Pressure plate opening a hatch leading to a chamber full of carp and water, after a/a few large, serrated disc traps. Wait for it to delimbinize the leader, and the rest will be demoralized...and probably also delimbinized.

Before suggesting an idea, you should:
1.) Ask the DF Questions people if it's possible.
2. (or 3)) Ask the Modding people if it can be modded.
3. (or 2)) Check the Develpoment page.
4. Come here to the suggestions forum.

...Oops. I meant noah22223. Why does everyone else have strings of numbers attached to their names?

Alright, thanks for the warning. Happy 4th of July to you, too.

It could be that you're just unlucky. Not all civs appear in all worlds.

54132
i was wondering who'd be the jackass and pull the BC out of the closet.
Not trying to be a jerk, trying to point out that "biped" is remarkably...unhelpful.

Everyone against the colossus! :P
Fine by me, I was actually expecting him to be rejected. A CMOA would be kinda cool, though.

If not, you could try making them a surface-living camp civ, like cave animalmen.

How do you give them weapons without putting them in a civ?
